Bellroy Leather Strap from Google Store

Has anybody already tried out the Bellroy Leather Strap from the official Google Store?

Looks quite delicious in that Terracotta color way 😅.

It's a combination of Polymer and Leather. Don't know what to think about it. In Germany it's 80 Euros - so not cheap at all...

Z Fold 8 Power Button Wiggly Again!?

Hey reddit,

this goes out to the people that already got their devices.

Mine arrived today and it's gorgeous 😍. The color Green Shadow is just stunning!

While unboxing I recognized it's back on this device again: the wiggly and little noisy power button... I had all Folds from 5 on.

The 5 had that too, the 6 was a bit better and less noisy and the 7 was really flush and sometimes even kind of harder to reach and use for the fingerprint. Nevertheless I prefer flush and firm as it feels more premium.

Now the 8 out of the box is a little bit loose and rattly clicky, little clicking noise when moving around) again 😅😭. It still seems to be a lottery with the perfect hardware.

Maybe people can check their devices and report back? Do you recognize that too?

Edit: just went to a local store again, only had one sample but the Ultra had the same issue/ feature 😂. Some of them probably less, some of them more. But it's for sure a thing again or maybe still.

Galaxy Watch 40 vs 44 battery life

Hi,

last year I tested the GW8 40mm for a few weeks before I had to sell it due to horrible battery life. I couldn't even make it through a whole day with AoD on, sleep tracking and at least 1 workout, sometimes gps but mostly without.

I'm using a Fold7 soon to be Fold8 Ultra with a Pixel Watch 4 41mm. In general I like the PW and it has nearly twice as good of a battery life as the GW8 had and a lot faster charging. Nevertheless there are some hiccups here and there with the software and compatibility with Samsung.

I checked out the new GW9 already and the new processor really improves the performance quite a bit. It is really quick and quite smooth. The Pixel Watch in comparison is quite sluggish, laggy and slow from time to time (in general it's not that bad and ok, but there's for sure a lot room for improvement).

I'll wait and see how the battery performs on the new GW9 soon but there's scepticism and already bad reviews regarding the battery out there. I have a small wrist and normally only the 40/41 mm watches suit me well. I tested the 44 Samsung on my wrist and it is big. But maybe I would try it out.

The big question is: Samsung says the 44 and the 40 have the same battery endurance!? Has anybody had the chance to compare in real life scenarios? No influencer/YouTuber BS... Is the battery of the 44 really not better? If it's not I probably can close the case and have to stay with the PW. I need at least 1,5 days with all features on to be sure to make it through 1 heavy day with 1 charge.

Thanks for any valuable input 😁.

Navigation Bar Hint disappearing

Device: Galaxy Z Fold7

One Ul version: latest OneUi 8.5 based on Android 16 with June Patch

Navigation: Swipe gestures with Gesture Hint enabled, no Good Lock

Using One UI Home (stock launcher)

Issue:

"The gesture hint briefly disappears after swiping Home on the cover display but remains continuously visible on the inner display. The behavior is reproducible in all apps."

Attached video for reference. It's driving me nuts as there is a slight delay on the cover screen when going into an app after going home (I have to wait a second to be able to scroll in the newly opened app after the gesture handle reappears).

I've only noticed this issue now as I normally use buttons as preferred navigations but wanted to try the fluid animations that come with gesture navigation.

Anybody else can reproduce this issue on a Fold?

APP3, Bose QCUE2, Galaxy B4P

I have a Galaxy Z Fold7, Pixel Watch 4, MacbookPro, iPad Pro and AirpodsP2 at my service currently. I'm not tied to a specific ecosystem. I choose the product that fits the intended use case. Unfortunately I've struggled with the choice of the best fitting earbud for a long time...

In general I'm quite satisfied with the APP2 in that constellation. I have to switch devices manually from time to time but mostly they switch smoothly with at least my Fold and the Apple devices. Occasionally I had issues where 1 bud doesn't turn on and ANC is wonky sometimes.

Sound is one thing where I might have an interest in an upgrade. Priorities are also ANC and Transparency. In addition I want to be able to use Volume, Start, Pause and skip between tracks with the earbuds itself. Battery has never been a concern with modern earphones for me (I don't listen for 8 hours straight).

As I don't feel like I have major concerns with my APP2 the 3s seem to be an easy pick. I went to the store and checked them out. Fit with the new ear tips is even better than the 2s with my Azlas. Sound seems better and ANC also got a decent upgrade.

In Germany I can get the buds brand new for these prices:

Apple APP3 - 187 €

Bose QCUE2 - 217 €

Samsung GBP4 - 209 €

I'd like to get feedback from people that have a long-term experience with these buds and ideally might already have compared them in real life scenarios.

Thanks Reddit 😎!

PW4 Maps Orientation Wrong

Hi Reddit,

it's getting frustrating with all the small issues with my PW4 recently. I'm not sure if these have exactly been there only right after the last update - might be...

Newest one:

The orientation of the compass within Google Maps has been wrong for ages now without me being able to find a fix. It's mostly turned around by 180 degrees in comparison to the reality.

I tried wiping cache and force stopping, restarting watch and phone (on my Fold7 the orientation is always correct).

Any ideas or fixes?

Thanks!
