Book #6 of 2026. The Deep by Peter Benchley. First time read. 3.75 stars out of 5. On the Benchley kick and this one was interesting. Felt like an Elmore Leonard novel based in Bermuda after reading Jaws, which was unexpected and slightly disappointing.

Book #5 of 2026. Jaws by Peter Benchley. First time read. 5 stars out of 5. Definitely varies from the movie (which is a perfect movie) but enough to make this a damn fine read.
This ended up being more of an analysis on the community of Amity Island and its residents than a thriller focusing on shark attacks. Gives an awesome view into life in NE America in the 1970. I found the depth and details that Benchley went into fascinating. The shark plot is also extremely tense and the ending is way better than the movie's ending imo.
I've been slacking on posting here but I'm slowly making progress.
