Will I be able to go into dentistry with these gcse grades 8888777765

I got maths: 8, language:7, literature:8, biology:7, chemistry:7, physics:7, history:8, food tech:8, french:5, further maths:6. I’m worried because I got no 9s and most of my grade 8s are in humanities. And if so what unis should I aim to apply at.

Am I being to sensitive for getting annoyed at my brother for saying that wearing a wig is like “trying to be white”

So I (F16), my sister (F19) and my brother (M23) went to watch Spider-Man with our friends today. I had to get ready quite quickly because I had to finish washing the dishes, so for efficiency I decided to wear a wig as my hair was already in cornrows for protection.

Just for some context I have 4c hair which if you didn’t know are very tight curls that resemble coils because of this my hair is extremely fragile, prone to breakage and split ends that are only revealed when I straighten my hair which also damages my hair due to the heat, so to prevent damage people with 4c hair wear protective hairstyles such as box braids and cornrows.

So when my brother saw me he said “oh your wearing a wig” in a tone that felt quite judgemental to me and I responded just normally with a “yeah” and in response he said “god I hope you don’t become one of those wig girls” in an exasperated voice which I found strange. I was confused as he had never voiced any concerns with wigs before so I was like “what’s wrong with that” and he said “it’s just cringy, black girls trying to be white like just except who you are”. I knew that if I challenged him it would get awkward so I didn’t confront him as was like “yeah I agree I also don’t like it when people treat their wigs better than their natural hair”.

Now in all honesty I don’t like it when people don’t appreciate their natural 4c hair or degrade it however, I really did not appreciate my brother claiming that every black girl who wears wigs is “trying to be white”, it just kinda insinuates that he views these black women as jealous of white women. I also think that he cannot talk about black women trying to be another race when he has never and never will fully understand being a black women and how we are always portrayed as unwanted, masculine, unattractive and hyper sexual. I mean we face discrimination for being black and sexism from being female. To add to this my brother is dating a white women which completely fine, I think it’s amazing that we live in an era where interracial relationships are allowed and encouraged however, when my brother is around white people he never embraces his African culture and he “codes switched”. In addition he doesn’t wear his natural hair out as he just cuts it extremely short, he glorifies east asian (especially Japanese) culture like their food, entertainment, music and language which is fine but with all of these factors how can you go on about black women trying to be white when you yourself don’t embrace black/ African culture.

God I think this just really pisses me off because of all the hate that specifically black women with 4c hair get. When cornrows outside were viewed as dangerous or not put together and when we wear wigs were viewed as white washed. I feel like we can never win

Sorry if it’s not very clear I’m not very good at writing despite English being my first language😭😞.
