Is it worth it?

I have had my AMEX PLAT TRAVEL since 2 years.
This year the renewal was in January and soon after the first devaluation happened.
Now we have another devaluation as well.

I also have Axis Atlas as my primary card since I’m not able to complete the 7 Lac spending on plat travel.

Is it really worth it to keep it?
What do i do with the 60k points i have on amex.

Which Taj hotel in North India has the best "experiences" (not just the room)? Trying to make the most of a ₹10k Taj voucher from Amex Platinum Travel

Got a ₹10,000 Taj voucher from my Amex Platinum Travel Card after hitting the ₹4L annual milestone spend. Now trying to figure out where to actually use it — and I don't just want a nice room, I want a property known for a genuinely memorable experience, not just 5-star basics.

I've been digging around and North India Taj/IHCL properties seem to have some legitimately unique stuff on offer:

  • Taj Rambagh Palace, Jaipur – This one seems to be the standout for "activities." Croquet on the lawn (apparently introduced by Rajmata Gayatri Devi herself), high tea at the Verandah or Steam (a restored steam-train carriage turned lounge), the Polo Bar with actual polo memorabilia and cocktail-making sessions, horse-drawn carriage rides, vintage car cruises around the city, heritage walks led by butlers, and even kids collecting peacock feathers on the grounds. Feels like the most "experience-dense" Taj in the north.

  • Taj Corbett Resort & Spa, Uttarakhand – Riverside archery, forest trails, overnight camping, a deep-cleansing Uddharsana spa treatment, colonial-style high tea at the Ghural Deck, and obviously proximity to Jim Corbett for tiger/wildlife sightings.

  • Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur – The big one here is a Jiva Spa massage on a boat, sailing across Lake Pichola. Shikara rides too. More romantic/luxury than "activity-packed," but the spa-on-water thing is genuinely unusual.

  • Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa – Holy dip at Sangam + Satvik lunch, guided treks across a cable-suspension bridge through Singthali forest, meditation-focused programming. Different vibe — more wellness/spiritual than palace-luxury.

  • Vivanta Dal View, Srinagar – Wazwan feast experience, Kahwa tea lounge, shikara rides on Dal Lake, tulip/Chinar season views depending on when you go.

  • Taj Theog Resort & Spa, Shimla – Colonial architecture, 180-degree Himalayan views, curated local experiences, Jiva Spa, apple orchards on the property.

From what I can tell, Rambagh Palace and Corbett seem to have the widest spread of "included/bookable" experiential stuff (games, archery, high tea, heritage tours) versus the others which lean more into spa/scenery.

Questions for the sub:

  1. Which of these have you actually stayed at, and was the "experience" stuff worth it or mostly upsold as paid add-ons?
  2. Is a ₹10k Taj voucher even meaningfully useful at a palace property like Rambagh, or does it barely dent the bill there?
  3. Any hidden-gem North India Taj/Vivanta/Ginger property with a genuinely unique included experience I'm missing?

Edit: Since a few people asked — the voucher is a Taj Experiences voucher from Amex Platinum Travel, not cash, so I think it's redeemable across Taj/Vivanta/SeleQtions properties on stays or F&B.

Guys
Any suggestion on using the Spaid app for education spend. They say you can pay anyone and it will be counted as education spend.

Does it actually work and is it trustworthy?
Also they cut 1.6 percent i guess.
What’s the tea. Help with info if it’s a scam or no.

Other threads on Reddit say it is almost a scam as they paid but it takes time to get the money to the receiver or they don’t process it further.

Here in Gurgaon for my Taigun 1 year service.

[OC]

I see so many Virtus and Taigun lined up for fuel pump change.

These are lined up like a car meet here.

All the technicians and service people say these things -

- Delhi NCR fuel quality is super bad. The petrol stations are greedy and mixing something probably or their quality is degrading the car.

- E20 blending is bad and we cant do anything about it.

- Due to excessive heat the pump gets a dry run and gets burned out and when there is an issue the ECU shows error light.

People dont keep the fuel at the higher level and only fill up when it goes empty.

The service recommends to fill up the tank once you have the 100 km range or is left with 25% fuel.

This keep the pump fully submerged and doesn’t let it run dry or get heated up at all.

It is also recommended to give your car a rest when driving long hours.

If there is an ECU ISSUE OR FUEL PUMP ISSUE, Here is what you should do -

- give the car some rest, have something to eat meanwhile and let it rest and cool down.

- you can move and drive the car when cooled down with a limited speed of 50 km/h.

- the pump is working fine when you get the ecu light but it’s not that efficient anymore and may cause a lag in distribution to the engine.

- fill up tank if you can when its cooled down.

- bring it to the service station

- get the fuel pump changed for free from service stations since it comes under 4 year’s warranty.

This is a serious issue with fuel quality in DELHI NCR. Should be rectified or at-least called upon.

The service station where I went recommended the Indian oil pump on the chowk in Sector 52 wazirabad. Near the Frontier Service center. They say they got it checked and it came out fine.

What are your thoughts on this?

My Taigun is safe for now but till when, I wonder?
