Did anyone else notice this???

It took me so long to notice. Look, they're the same textures, with the same divisions and sizes. That's normal, AV is the direct sequel to NTAE in the trilogy, but anyway, it's interesting to think about what this means.

The cover of AV is a panel, and these textures from NTAE continue on the cover of AV, which leads me to believe that the cover of NTAE is a "cleaner" and less grimy version of the same panel. Well, it's just interpretation. What do you think?

For those who like Hail To The Thief, what are the reasons why you like it?

I've been listening to the album repeatedly and trying to understand it, but I still don't think I've reached the point of absolutely loving it. I'd like you to give me reasons why you think it's good; maybe I'll be able to appreciate it better after hearing your arguments.

(That cover is damn cool)

Which NIN tracks do you think have an "eccentric" vibe?

Yeah, I know the whole discography is packed with all kinds of “crazy” and unhinged tracks, but I’d like to talk about a few songs that give me something a little different from just “madness”:

• Only: Trent’s vocals are clearly very loose here and don’t really seem to follow any conventional structure, and I actually like that.

• The Only Time: It is exactly the kind of song that comes to mind when people are talking about downing those Russian drinks until you get wrecked. The vocals sound kind of sensual and sarcastic, and the instrumental is deliberately erratic.

• Running: Unfortunately, nobody likes this track, but I love the percussion that feels almost completely unrestrained, anxious, erratic, and chaotic, that muffled, distorted guitar after the first chorus, and Trent’s relaxed yet urgent vocals. It really feels like Trent was 0% worried when he made this song.

These are just my favorites with this vibe. There are other tracks like this across the discography. Mention yours here.

What if Atticus Ross had been an official member of NIN since the classic era? (PHM, Broken, TDS, and TF)

Atticus does excellent work, and I think this question is meant precisely to highlight his compositional ability.

The most obvious answer would be that NIN’s “classic” albums would sound different, especially considering Atticus’s skill with audio engineering and sonic textures. But of course, Atticus would not be working alone, so he would have to deal with a young Trent and his compositional methods. In other words, how would this convergence between the two of them work, and what would the result be? Would entirely new releases have emerged? How would Atticus have adapted to Reznor, and how would Reznor have adapted to Atticus? It is worth noting that Reznor was quite “independent” in the studio, but perhaps a well-matched creative partnership would have been welcome, even taking into account Reznor’s mindset during that period. With that said, a creative and compositional blend between the two of them would form something unique.

In short, it would be interesting to imagine how Atticus would adapt his compositional approach in these contexts, and how Reznor would influence that process. It might have produced a unique and compelling method, both in convergence with Reznor and in Atticus’s own right.

The Kid tá em outro patamar. E a sua?

What do NIN fans think of Filth?

As a die-hard fan of Broken and TDS, listening to this album after falling in love with those two was probably one of the most satisfying things ever. A while back, a friend told me Swans was the kind of band that’s hard to binge and all that crap… then I listened to Filth and thought, "fuck it, I’m listening to their entire discography and I do not care"

It's an extremely brutal, grotesque, and heavy album. Probably not suitable for petting kittens

Vocês têm masculinidade frágil? (Por favor, sejam respeitosos com as pessoas e com os relatos)

Eu tenho passado por algumas experiências com isso, mas no momento eu quero desviar o foco só para o pessoal daqui 👍👍

What would an Invasion A.D machup with The Great Destroyer (NIN) be like?

I tend to admire both tracks for the same reason: they manage to convey absolute destruction, like cities being obliterated by greater forces. If that's already absolutely incredible and impactful, imagine a fusion between the two tracks?

What would a mashup of The Great Destroyer and Invasion A.D. (Carpenter Brut) look like?

Most people may have noticed, but Carpenter Brut has two direct trilogies.

It's impressive. How rare is that in music in general? I mean, I know many works are indirectly connected to each other or even directly connected at specific points, but in Brut's case, these connections are literally DIRECT and DECLARED, and I think that's unusual.
