Hi everyone,

I'm in the triad area and I’ll be accepting a full-time job soon after graduating and currently being unemployed.

I'm really grateful to finally be getting back on my feet.

The only challenge is getting through the next couple of weeks until I receive my first paycheck. I rely on PART/public transportation to get to work, and money has been extremely tight after barely making ends meet over the past month.

I'd be incredibly grateful. Even pointing me toward resources would mean a lot. Once I start getting paid, I'll be able to cover my own transportation again.

Hello HP

Hi everyone. I'm hoping this community might be able to point me in the right direction

I'm a woman, 21, who recently graduated with my bachelor's degree in Psychology. Right now, I'm looking for full-time work that will help me support myself.

One of my biggest challenges is that I don't have a car at the moment and primarily rely on public transportation. Because of that, I'm looking for opportunities in or around Greensboro, High Point, or Winston-Salem that are reasonably accessible by bus or other public transit.

I'm open to a variety of roles, especially ones involving:

  • Office or administrative work
  • Higher education or student support
  • Youth services or mentoring
  • Behavioral or mental health
  • Nonprofits and community organizations
  • Case management, care coordination, intake, or human services
  • Family support or advocacy
  • Entry-level positions where a psychology degree is valued

I know the job market is tough right now, and sometimes opportunities come from simply knowing the right people. So I figured I'd ask.

I really need some guidance on what to do.

What are the most overlooked ways graduate students fund their education besides scholarships?

Hi everyone! I'll be starting my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling this fall.

I've been fortunate to receive $8,500 in scholarships from my university, and I'm continuing to apply for outside scholarships while working to keep my graduate debt as low as possible.

I've noticed that scholarships specifically for counseling and mental health graduate students seem much harder to find than undergraduate scholarships.

For those who've been through graduate school (especially counseling, psychology, social work, or related fields), were there any scholarships or strategies that you found later in your search that you wish you'd known about sooner?

I'd love to hear any advice.

One degree down, graduate school next and one step closer to my dream.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently preparing to begin graduate school in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I’m especially interested in trauma-informed work and the idea of blending traditional therapy with more holistic approaches like movement, creativity, and nature-based healing.

As I move into this next chapter, I’ve been thinking a lot about how places shape us, even after we leave them.

If you're in mental health, education, ministry, or simply care about building healthier communities, I'd love to hear what kinds of resources or spaces you wish existed here.

I’m a graduate student beginning Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a long-term vision of trauma-informed and expressive arts-based healing spaces

Hi everyone,

I’m beginning a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and wanted to introduce myself as I start this new chapter.

My path began in psychology, but over time it became clear I am drawn to counseling and helping people understand themselves, process emotions, and move toward healing.

As I move into graduate school, I’m especially interested in trauma-informed counseling and expressive arts approaches to healing, including movement, creativity, and environment alongside traditional talk therapy.

My long-term goal is to work with children, families, and underserved communities, and to help create more accessible and holistic spaces for healing.

I’m looking forward to connecting with others on similar paths.
