Almost finished my wedding dress!
I used grace from corsets by Caroline for the corset, the dress is made out of silk dupion. It’s the first dress I’ve made so I’m a bit nervous. 😅
So my wedding dress I bought in February turned up way too small in the bust and massive in the waist, it was also way too short in the bodice so my bust was not covered. It was not fixable and the designer could not understand the problem and my wedding is 3.5 weeks away... they just said that making a dress smaller will make it smaller in height too, but... I am not going to get shorter just because I need a smaller size.
But the bridal shop got this dress in this week and said I should give it a go. Its several sizes too big in the waist but they can take it in and make it a corset back and shape the bust to fit me. My other dress was a satin gown, but this lace is gorgeous, and I think it will fit a castle wedding? Obviously the buttons in the front are going to go.
Okay so I made what I thought would be my last corset for the understructure for my wedding gown, but honestly I hate how the bottom line looks on the corset in the back, I really want to make it a deep v instead. There is always something.

I’m in the process of getting a ring made custom for me. Right now I’m wearing a fake that is about 2 mm wide and that does not feel too chunky.
I’m a little worried about the 2.29 thickness of the band. Less concerned about the 2.8 width of band.
The claws will be pointy in the end as well.
I also attached images of my hand and how my 2 mm wide band looks with my fake ring as well as how big the stone will be on the new ring.
Would you guys change anything?
I am making a wedding corset, the corset itself will not have any fashion fabric on it until I cover it after it is assembled and on the dressfrom, but I need the lacing strips/panels to be finished when I put them on to the corset, but I would prefer not to have a bias strip to finish them at the top, but rather the clean crisp edge of the corset in the imaged in this post.
How would you do it? I don't need the bottom edge to be finished, but it would be a perk.
Hi everyone, Just wanted to ask for some advice.
I made a black corset out of my finished corset pattern, but used a different fashion fabric, and it caused some new issues to arise.
I have some strange buckling at the bust, could it be because I use two straight metal bones in the front?
The channels are just the seam allowance folded over, should I use channels made out of the coutil over the trimmed down allowance instead (that is what I do on my other seams)?
I also think It want another bone next to the CF to help with the mid part wrinkles.
Would it be possible to not cut out the two CF pieces into two, but just cut them as one and add boning channels? is there a purpose to have a CF seam?

I am 36F, 117 lbs, I have been suffering from terrible thick and slimy post nasal drip for about 8 months now.
I thought it was allegies/a cold, but neither betapred or kortison nose sprays/rinsing of the nose have not done any difference, but lately I’ve noticed that it gets much much worse after eating.
I have taken omeprazol 20 mg for about a week with no effect.
My throat is now sore, I am hoarse, and I constantly feel like I have to swallow. But the flem/mucus/post nasal drip is always way worse atter eating.
I’m cutting out all caffeine, chocolate, fatty or fried food from now. And I’ll try sleeping with my head raised.
Is there anything else I could try before I have a doctor’s appointment in 9 days?

I’m planning to make a gambeson for a male friend this autumn and would love some advice from people with experience making or wearing them, I’m especially looking for recommendations on good patterns, tutorials as well as resources for construction methods.
The goal is to make something practical and well-fitted rather than just a costume piece, so I’m interested in both historical accuracy and functionality. Any tips, pattern suggestions, book recommendations or examples of your own projects would be very welcome.
I am used to making historical garments for women, but this is something new to me. :)

Except for cutting down the "cat-eye" points in the bust so they do not poke me in the armpits, I am done with the base for my wedding corset. F*cking finally. Only took 8 months to find the right pattern and then tweaking it to fit.
Woop! Managed to fix some of the serious wrinkles on the fourth panel! I still might need to ad a boning channel to the middle of each CF piece but it is better. I also decided to make the top into more of a 18th century look with the pointy edges. :) On to the next corset.
I finished the stays I made inspired by the strapless stays in pof5. I drafted the pattern myself with the arc method. :) For my next pair I will move the ”bust tabs” slightly out of the armpit. Otherwise I’m quite happy, adding all the reinforcements to the inside made them more comfortable to wear as well.
Finally tried on the stays, they are maybe a little tall, but generally happy with them.
I managed to fix the bust! It fits great now, but I honestly need stronger bones or more of them, as well as more space in the front hip. :)
1770s stays in the making! Decided to add metal eyelets for bunny ear lacing because spiral lacing kill me very time I try to do it myself.
