I am 24 years old. I have 3.5 years of IT experience and currently earn ₹9.36 LPA fixed, with ~10% appraisal expected around October.
I’ve got an offer in HSR Layout:
Fixed: ₹13 LPA

Variable: ₹50K

Total CTC: ₹13.5 LPA

In-hand shown: ~₹1.045L/month

I’m excited about moving, but honestly quite nervous about whether this is enough for HSR, considering rent, food, utilities, transport, gym and social expenses.
The bigger reason I want to move is my current lifestyle. My day is basically 7:30 AM–8 PM between travel and work, leaving almost no time for gym, hobbies or social life. Most old friends are abroad, and being introverted, I’ve struggled to make new ones.
Bengaluru feels like a chance for a fresh start — more communities, activities and opportunities to meet people, and hopefully actually have a life outside work. But I’m worried I may be romanticizing it and underestimating the cost of living.
I’m also not finding many other suitable jobs currently.
Bangalore folks, please be brutally honest:
Is ₹13.5 LPA enough for a single person in/around HSR?

What’s a realistic monthly budget?

Is this move worth it for the lifestyle change?

Would you take this offer or wait for something better?

Especially interested in people who moved to Bengaluru from smaller cities. 🙏

Just faced final round of application support Engineer Level 10.

I had everything needed but somewhere eneded up messing up everything. It was a great opportunity but I literally fucked up with nerveousness and over confidence a bit.

No interview calls or resume shortlisting are happening for any other company and it feels like I an going to be stuck in a mediocre job in a tier 3 city of Surat.

Plus the issue is I have heard that if I face rejection I cannot apply for any other role for atleast 6 months.

So everything is messed up and going to end in heartbreak.

I FEAR THAT END UP KEEPING HOPES BUT EVEN THE REJECTION TAKES MONTH TO COME.

Totally exhausted since i had worked soo hard since weeks for last evenings interview. It was the third time interview had to be rescheduled. So it was tiresome process in itself.

I bottlef up a golden chance to get out of this mediocre job and move to an MNC in a good city.

THIS MORNING I WOKE UP HOPING THAT WHATEVER HAPPENED YESTERDAY IN INTERVIEW SHOULD BE A BAD DREAM BUT IT WASNT. AND THIS MORNING FEELS HOPELESS CONSIDERING I AM NOT GETTING POSITIVE RESPONSE FROM ANYWHERE AND WRITING THIS POST I HAVE GOT MY HANDS SHIVERING IN THE FEAR OF BEING MEDIOCRE AND FAILURE ALL MY LIFE.
