S2+ swap - SFQ-35 6500k

SFQ-35 6500k with 3v 8a Buck driver. Orange peel reflector. Molicel m35a with a full fresh charge.

The white is beautifully crisp. Good throw as well. Defined ring around the edges I don’t love so much.

It’s stable, but it’s like a nuclear power plant. It takes about 30 seconds to get hot and then two minutes then and you can barely hold it on Turbo.

We all know what s2+ look like so I didn’t want to waste your time.

I would definitely swap it into something with better heat management. I could see it’s a big brother the 55 or the 43 going in one of the M21 series.

The photos start with step 1,2,3,4,5 and then a few extra 5s.

Anyone running a different stock on their A300 UP?

I’m fed up with not having a sling mount and that Gg&G Jetson away while shooting and has overstayed its welcome.

i’d rather not start drilling holes in the stock but after 300 rounds yesterday I was tired of seeing it out of the corner of my eye.

I’d love to know if anyone knows of other stocks or adapters. I don’t wanna run a pistol grip for what that’s worth.

Thank you ahead of time.

Selling the highlands in both black oiled and chocolate Rough Shot

They’re not my size which sucks. I need a 10 and I don’t think a 10 EE will fit so I want them to go to someone who will wear them.

I’m not trying to make money on them. 320ish was my cost for the oiled and 275 I think for the Chocolate.

That cost of mine and shipping to your door and they’re yours. Just message me. Message here so we have a log of anyone interested please.

Extra pair from the weekend - 10.5 EE

I ended up with a pair of those black uplands from this last weekend. Well the moment I opened them I hear my partner say “you got another pair?”

So, since they decided that they’re “just the same” I came here to offer them up before they go on eBay.

Idk what the rules are around selling - so message me I guess?

Starting small - New laptop for tv and lighting. Need help

I was recently given a new laptop as a gift that I have absolutely no use for. It’s a really nice oled Lenovo yoga. 16gb ram, blah blah, so it should be good to go.

I want to automate and replace a few things with it:

  1. I’d like to replace my Apple TV. I have so many other websites or saved movies that I can’t be bothered to get to my Apple TV. I think I can get this idiot proof, but I’ll need a remote solution (2 remotes maybe? Idk if you can control a tv volume and the pc from the same remote.)

  2. lighting. I want my lights to come on at a scheduled time, dim and change to warm tones over the evening and have a setting to change when we travel.

  3. I have a “smart door lock” on the house that we use and I’d like to better utilize that.

  4. I am installing a security camera setup from ubiquiti or Reolink and I’d like to have this serve as a hub to some capacity.

Big ideas but if I can accomplish the first two I’d be elated.

For the tv: It needs to just be easy to use on the surface, and not have anything that clearly looks like a keyboard/mouse setup. I am looking for Bluetooth mice that look and function similar to the Apple TV remote but maybe have a keyboard under a cover or something.

Where do I start? Is what I’m trying to do foolish or am I starting with a good foundation and goals?

Any help and guidance is very, very appreciated.

Mossberg 990 spx magpul SBS available anywhere?

Anyone actually able to buy one yet?

I’m not talking about the shockwave. I’m talking the SBS. I’ve got a bounty out with my local trying to find one, but no one has one for sale. Can’t find it anywhere.

https://www.mossberg.com/990-spx-magpul-class-3-83014.html

I’m curious if anyone has gotten one for personal from a retailer yet. If anyone knows a place with one for sale that isn’t insanely priced, I’d pay a bounty on that too.

How do you care for the rambler leather?

I have a pair of frostbite ramblers and they’re starting to look dry. I’d hate to get rid of the blue tint. Let’s come out overtime, but the skin is at the point where if you don’t treat it will crack.

I’d rather not wear these until they die and treat them well at least for a year or two. What’s everyone’s method of cleaning with such a strange leather?

Looking for a unicorn I think.

I’m trying to find a PCC that isn’t on the AR platform that is legally a pistol but can have the barrel swapped and meet rifle requirements.

I want a truck gun, and I want it to LOOK like a truck gun, but at the range or popping off at varmints around the farm I want to have a nice short barrel sometimes to have fun.

Any ideas?

I almost bought the ruger pc charger but I think there is a better option out there that I’m just not aware of.

Can we discuss heritage boot prices?

Goodyear welt and heritage boots have been something I’ve enjoyed for probably eight years. I probably have a dozen pair at this point.

I would buy from full retail to sales and one pair is a factory second. I’ve bought from all the big brands: JK, Whites, Parkhurst, Red Wing, and a bunch of other others I can’t think of Wright right now.

Over the eight years, and I’m loosely guessing, the cost of boots has gone insane. The best example that I can think of immediately is JK’s 300. It was called that because they were $300. You could get a pair of whites for $260 on sale. Red Wings have held around where they’re at now and I’ll come back to that point.

The prices of boots now from those names are in some cases 200 or $300 more. Heritage boots were always a bit of a luxury but not 600 or $700 for some of their mid tier models.

I looked the other day in a pair of MP Sherman from Whites boots is over $800. I’m absolutely certain I bought a pair for high 500 or low $600 retail.

During this time, Red Wing has held the same price within about $50 for ages. It’s worth pointing out Red Wings because they are made with all American goods like every other brand listed here.

Is it just so trendy that bootmaker greed is just going insane? I know a lot of these brands were not high margin, but they were definitely making money.

I go to some of the individual boot brand forums and there are people with 20 or 30 pair of Nick’s. I understand if you like something go wild, collect them. The problem is people who want to stay “loyal “to the brand that they like, or maybe even a boot that they prefer are watching this from the sidelines and losing their minds.

The outlier has always been WESCO, but there’s a whole documentary about that.

I just wanna get a gauge on how other people feel. Am I just some old lady complaining about the price of things back in my day.

I know there are tons of people who have been here for four or five years who remember when pricing was reasonable.

The leather quality has gone down with some of these brands. I’ll call out Truman in particular. That company has gone to shit and the owner must just want to get rid of it. It’s like it’s going through a midlife crisis.

What are your thoughts.

How do you guys feel knowing that one year ago you were paying $100 less on products that put pride in all American boots from all American materials?

Are you paying it?

Are these companies losing their minds?

I have a pair of moss ramblers and the laces broke.

I’d like to replace them with a leather lace, but what color do you pick? Same with Atlantic or cloudburst… what color laces are muted but cool on them?

I almost went for charcoal grey or black.
