About This Event
Join Ross County Commissioners for a Community Commemoration in front of the Ross County Court House at 11:30am, followed by Nathaniel Massie Chapter of NSDAR and America 250-Ross County dedication of the Revolutionary War Soldiers monument at Veterans Memorial Park.

Happy Birthday America!
From the Chillicothe Police on the Fireworks tonight
The Citv of Chillicothe. Ohio fireworks will be tomorrow 4th of July at approx. 9:45PM.
Those viewing from the floodwall should NOT place tents or other items that will completely block the blacktop portion of the wall. Blocking the path creates a safety hazard for those trying to walk and hampers emergency personne from getting through.
After fireworks are over. traffic will be under the direction of police officers. See attached map for details on traffic patterns.
As always, no alcohol is to be consumed in Yoctangee Park. Illegal/ prohibited Fireworks are also strictlv prohibited as we want evervone to have a safe 4th.
Viewers must stay out of restricted areas, this includes the waterway behind the city park annex, which will be patrolled. See attached map. The annex will be closed in the early morning of the 4th to allow setup.
We remind evervone to please be patient when eaving the park, watch for pedestrians, and if in no hurry wait for traffic to thin out.

Did you know 50 West hosts an Art Battle?
Every other month this is a fun event hosted by locals for locals to Chillicothe. Here we have The Dank Studio looking good with his painting and a view of from the spectator seats during a round. It was a great time and helps out the Graffiti Wall project going on! MORE ART PLEASE!

Musical Alert: Spongebob
When: July 9th - 12th, 2026
Where: Chillicothe Civic Center
What: An exciting new musical featuring irresistible characters and magical music, this deep-sea pearl of a show is set to make a splash with audiences young and old.
Was at an event last weekend when the director came up with a big, "Hello Friends." We heard the elevator pitch and purchased tickets. 50 locals will be in this young and old, hope yall come out and see it with me!

Middle Earth in Downtown Chillicothe
Had a blast with my partner at the Middle Earth festival here in town. Come on out next year to dress up, Hobbit out with other fans, or grab some ale! This was 6/20, hope it is around that time next year!

In 2026 censorship took a new form in Southern Ohio and a set of moderators decided it was not okay to talk about Pride and registering to vote. They offered as a response go make your own reddit.

Regarding the new surprise rule
The word we are looking for is Divisive.
As in Pride and registering people to vote is not divisive.
The new rule put in all of a sudden after the local politics with local rule was changed to just no politics should be, "Take the political conversations somewhere else. It's too divisive and always leads to negative outcomes."
