New bakery

Hi all, just wanted to let everyone know there's a new cottage food bakery in town :) My wife Greta and I started up about 3 weeks ago and we're really excited! She specializes in cookies, but we have a lot more than that.

Feel free to check us out at https://buttermeupbakery.com and use WELCOME10 during checkout to take 10% off... All of our orders are baked fresh, so we have a 48 hour order window, but it's worth the wait, promise!

Pickup is near Center & Brockway in the Twp, pick your date and time slot and it'll be waiting for you.

Happy to join the local small businesses in Saginaw!

Best method for smokers, burgers dogs... Etc

I am coming from cooking on gas grills for the last few decades and I'm completely clueless as to the best way to use a pellet smoker/grill. I got the pb 1600 elite and hosted a party but my food didn't turn out well at all.

I followed guides for baby back ribs, they were pretty dry even with a cup of apple juice in the wrap for the 2nd cook... I had 20 burgers on the grill and trying to move them over onto the searing section just over that sliding plate was a pita, and they didn't taste great. Was using Walmart frozen Angus patties though, could be why. Had hot dogs up on the 2nd tier and they seemed really unevenly cooked.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, first time smoker user and all. Also, using the championship blend from pit boss, seemed to add a nice flavor to the ribs, just wish they'd been a lot more tender.

Any suggestions for next time?

How long?

So, how long are we going to keep going to taco bell when even the tiniest hint of them being a good value anymore has completely vanished? $10.99 for 3 soft taco surpremes and a drink? Really? The absolute lowest effort item on the menu and that's the price? 5 years ago, $10.00 would have gotten you a lot of food.

Taco bell is a joke now. Should be boycotted for thinking their food is anywhere near worthy of the prices they're charging for it. I'm done going there, you should be too until they get a clue.

*edit*

I have to say, after reading all of the comments, it really amazes me how in today's world so many people seem to feel as if they're being attacked personally because someone has a different opinion on something they like... Glad to see a lot of people actually feel the same way I do about this though.

TO be completely fair here, I had just gone to TB before writing this, paid an extremely large amount for my food and, being tired of getting charged so much there, decided to say something. I did not say, however, that this is exclusive to Taco bell, it really is all fast food. TB was always the safe haven though, while McDonald's continuously (and still continues to) get worse. Arbys seems to think they're a full fledged steakhouse now, if going by their prices...etc etc, but taco bell was always the hey, let's go at 2 am, spend 79 cents each and get 5 tacos. And it really was good. The beef was beef and not 30%+ filler, the cheese was better and you actually got a big layer of it instead of the sprinkle they give you now.

I'm sorry I seem to have offended so many of you who seem to feel you need to stand up and protect a multi billion dollar industry, but no, it's gone so far down hill compared to those "old days" everyone likes to talk about.

Long shot, but anyone know any local positions in Mid-Michigan?

I am recently retired from OTR (as in, I refuse to spend 3 weeks away from home, let alone a single night anymore, 25 years is enough, burned out!!!) but my living situation does not mix well with no income.

I have been on indeed for days looking and hoping to find a local job that pays more than 15.00 an hour (which a lot of companies try and get drivers for now around here) ... or ones that don't involve heavy lifting/unloading your own trailer.

The few I found (Fedex linehaul, Penske hauling autoparts, some calcium chloride hauling job) and applied for were all no-calls. Are there better places to look than indeed/monster/simplyhired? Those all seem to either be temp agencies or national carriers, whose bullshit I'm experienced enough to never believe again.

Anyone know of any companies that might not be on those sites but are hiring? 50 - 60 hours a week is more than enough for me. Have tanker, dbls/trpls endorsements. No hazmat, but I could start applying for it if I had to, have had it before back in the early 2000's

Need advice...

Hello everyone,
I need some advice here. About 2 years ago I was lucky enough to win a storage locker filled to the brim with antiques... from furniture from the mid to late 1800s to memorabilia and, to my surprise, what seems to be a collection of authentic oriental rugs, a few of which still have their old export tags from Iran. The rugs range in size from a runner and a few throw rugs, to extremely large rugs that look as if they'd easily fit underneath an entire bedroom set.

I live in a small town in Michigan about 2 hours north of Detroit. I need to sell these rugs, but not knowing their value, or even being able to guess, I don't want to just pick a random number and throw them on facebook. They're all in excellent condition, they look as if they were very well loved and taken care of.

What would be the best way to get at least a good idea of their history as well as a value? I have been told written estimates for a collection of 9 rugs could run into some very high figures, and I am extremely low on funds and recently unemployed, hence my need to get them sold.

Would anyone have any good suggestions? I have tried contacting 3 different oriental rug dealers in SE Michigan but never heard back. Any help? I am in kind of a hurry here, but not willing to just give them away for a fraction of what they may actually be worth. Including a few photos of one rug just to show as an example... it is one of the smallest of the collection.

Thanks for any potential help here!

As we all know, as a trucker, sometimes you just don't have the ability to get to a bathroom, so when nature calls, naturally (*pun intended*), you have to find something to go in... It just occurred to me that the 24oz monster cans make the best pee jugs around.

For males anyhow. I'm sure with a shewee (real product lol) women could make use of them as well.

They:
* Hold as much as the max amount most male bladders can hold.
* Have a tight fitting cap that doesn't accidentally fall off or come undone
* Are conveniently opaque unlike water bottles and milk jugs, so it's clandestine.
* Have a wide enough opening that you can easily manage to not make any messes.

Random 5 am thoughts... meh.
