would I be able to be placed on the social housing register?

hello! diagnosed autistic here since last year. 16f here.

i currently live with both my parents and my older sister. we currently live in a third story council flat with 2 bedrooms. me and sister shared up until she went to university, but now she's back it's caused issues. she has had to move into our living room because i cannot handle not having a space to myself. the flat is relatively small anyway, and i couldn't cope with having nowhere to myself. she is 20, so almost two adults sharing a very small room.

my question is, would i have adequate means to join the social housing register in a few years? my family are low income anyway so even if I get a job i don't think I'll be able to afford to move out normally for the first ten years of me working. i cannot live here for the rest of my life

it is too crowded and incredibly overwhelming when everyone is here. my only issue is that i am high functioning, and don't often 'appear' autistic to the average person. i am worried they will not see this as sufficient evidence to be able to join. any advice?

(wasn't sure what flair to use)

Are Gen Zs likely to be able to move out by themselves in their 20s?

just genuinely wondering, because (particularly in my area, surrey) there is so little jobs, and practically no entry level jobs for teenagers and young adults. with almost no jobs available, and the housing market being extreme, is it likely that the average 16-24yo would be able to move out by themselves?

just had these arrive, very very excited to wind down tonight and start reading the first!

i read SOTR about a week back and instantly ordered these guys and they finally arrived today! also i think this is my favourite version of the book covers, they're so pretty don't you think?

is SOTR an 'easy' read for someone who hasnt read a full book in 4 years?

hello! ive just finished all the movies in about a week and fallen in love with them! im super excited for SOTR as haymitch very quickly became one of my favourites.

my main question is, is SOTR relatively easy to understand story wise while reading? while watching the movies I realised it was a series that obviously doesn't tell you everything and leaves things to the imagination or for you to fill in the blanks. not that this is bad at all, i think it's a very creative way of writing, the only thing being is that i am autistic and struggle to fill in blanks myself. i don't read books because of this, also because i have a very bland imagination. it's a lot easier for me to consume content when i have a visual representation of what it's like. however, i think with the movie trailer of SOTR and having faces (actors) i can match to the characters will help me a lot.

sorry if this doesn't make sense aha, but my main sort of premise is that, is the story easy to follow? i don't mind abstract storylines as long as i know what's going on if you get me?

both my parents are disabled and i think it was selfish to have me and my sister

i feel so guilty posting this. its 1am for me right now and ive just been thinking about my childhood for the last hour and i haven't stopped crying.

for some context, my mum has chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, major joint issues particularly in the knee and currently dealing with some vision issues with recurring infections.

my stepdad has been diagnosed with arthritis about a year ago, and has flare ups so bad i have to help him get his backpack round his shoulder.

i am only 16. my parents aren't *hugely* disabled, so they cannot get support from the government (they are also too proud to admit they are fully disabled anyway) but disabled enough for it to impact my life.

i feel so guilty because i cannot imagine what life is like daily for them.

yet i do not remember a day when my mother was not disabled. afaik, she has been suffering since her teens. i was always that child at school events with no parent turning up. i had to sit alone at sports day picnics because my parents could not come. i never had anyone to look for in the crowds. i was never able to invite anyone round to my flat because it was always a mess because my parents were unable to clean properly. i remember coming home from school wanting to tell my mum about my day and she would be asleep. i have been cooking my own meals since i was about 11. we have gotten takeaways most nights for dinner since my parents just do not cook. when i was younger, i thought having McDonald's every night for dinner was a flex, now i look back and i feel sad. nothings changed since then btw. i cannot remember the last time i had a home cooked meal. we rarely leave the house as a family anymore since my mum cannot drive due to her eyesight, and my dad never learnt to drive. we are also a lower class family. i have not known a day in my life where i haven't been worried about money. we have never been well off. my mum became pregnant with me when she was living in a shelter. we have a flat now, yet it is embarrassing. my room is my safe haven because that's the only room without mould.

my dad still works luckily, otherwise me and my family would be homeless. my mum had a job, which she was made redundant and is now signed off work for 6 months due to her health issues. we are struggling. so bad. we haven't done a food shop for a while now, so ive been living off whatever food my grandparents have dropped round.

i worry i won't have a future because i will have to care for my parents. they are both deteriorating and im only 16. there is so much life i haven't experienced yet i don't think i will ever be able to move out, not like i will be able to afford it anyway.

my prom is tomorrow. my friends mum is dropping me there. my friends mum is also taking me to get my results on results day because my mum can't.

i feel awful being annoyed by this because my mum has been my rock for the last 16 years. im high functioning autistic and had some mental health issues and she's been amazing through that. she's emotionally present but not really there any other way.

is my parcel lost? shipped from the US exactly 14 days ago and still hasnt arrived in the UK?

bought two things from the same seller separately so two different shipping labels. seller is in the US so i knew it would take a while, but the first package from this person took 7 days from the moment it was shipped to when it arrived at the inpost lockers. the other thing bought has been stuck on "on it's way to destination country" for 6 days now. vinted has said it's taking longer than expected but ive not had an update in ages and weird how one arrived a while ago and the others not even in the country yet. is it lost or is it usual for it to take this long?

what's the longest time you've waited for a parcel?

mines currently 22 days and counting lol. admittedly, it was bought from the US so i knew it would take around 10 days from the moment of shipping, but this seller requested an extension posting, so it wasn't posted until about 10 days after buying. it was now shipped 9 days ago and still hasnt even entered the UK 🤦. worst part is I fear it may be lost as ive bought other things from the US and was posted after the first purchase, and has arrived a few days ago.

i had 3 doses of medicine described as "making you feel like you're about to die", AMA!

hello! the medicine i am talking about is adenosine, used to help stop dangerously high heart rates. i was only 15 when i had it, and had to have it 3 consecutive times as the first two doses did not help. i am not a doctor, just a patient of experience :) AMA!

can i just skip ahead to season 12 ep 13 without watching the few beforehand?

i have yet to watch that episode but i know what happens, im on s12 ep4 atm. i am really just watching to get to that storyline as it's the only storyline left i really care about. is there anything that happens from ep5-12 that i definitely need to know before watching, or am i safe to just skip to that episode?

could my blood pooling be linked to SVT?

hello! 18f, ive had a myriad of health issues in the last few months, with an SVT diagnosis and migraines. ive complained about my legs being itchy while standing up for long periods of time, and i am always purple with blotchy hands + white spots. the pictures do not do it justice, the difference is more noticeable in person. if my hands are down by my side while standing up it's around 10 seconds until they are fully purple. is this something I should get checked out? it seems all these issues has somewhat coincided with timings, any advice would be much appreciated!
