Pre-demo: 240 wishlists spike from a Reddit post

It happened last week: I posted on several indie game dev subreddits to compare my old Steam capsule to the one an artist I hired just finished.

The posts did really well and I got 770K views from them. The first day I was really surprised to see that Koromi had 95 new wishlists. Usually it gets 0-2 wishlists a day.

While I am super happy with this spike that just added a third of the total wishlists I used to have, I can't help but wonder if it is not just other indie developers?

Followed the general advice and hired an artist for my Steam capsule

Top old - Bottom new

It cost me around 600 EUR / 700 USD and close to 2 months of back and forth with the artist.

Do you think it was worth it?

Anything you would change?
