I've felt this weird disconnect from the wider online MTF community, and I think I can finally discuss why.

This idea has been bouncing around in my mind for a while. But because I'm bad at explaining my feelings, I've been unable to articulate it without sounding crass.

However, I recently saw a comment of someone saying, "There's women who happen to be trans, and there's trans women.", and this statement is what finally made it click.

The majority of the online MTF community seems to have constructed a specific culture around being a "trans woman", rather than being a woman that happens to be trans, if you get what I'm saying.

Here's another way to put it. You could say that I align more with cis women mentally than the wider online MTF culture. Like, I blend in more and feel more comfortable in spaces typically occupied by cis women rather than spaces that's specifically an MTF space.

Another way to put it. A lot of trans women online claim to be hyper feminine, but the way they express hyper femininity is very very very different from the way cis women express hyper femininity. The whole vibe is different, not because they are trans, but because it's just different.

I'm curious if any trans men here feel the same way about their community, or if it's different.

There's something about Chappel Roan that throws me off, and I don't know why.

I'm not the type to "hate" a celebrity, that's just a waste of energy imo. But Chappel Roan throws me off for some reason, and I needed somewhere to talk about this.

I don't "hate" her, but she's giving off this weird energy that makes me uncomfortable.

It's weird and difficult to explain. I know what actions specifically changed my attitude about her, but it's like my subconscious is trying to warn me about something deeper when I look at her.

Ok so, the election apathy initially made me raise an eyebrow, but the tiktoks she made afterwards in response to the fallout is when I started to sense something weird.

How is it possible to be queer, and claim to be part of the drag community, and still have an ounce of apathy still in your body? Why is she even considered drag anyway? Her white foundation? The drag community and drag culture gives off a specific vibe, and she does not give off any of that energy to me.

Sorry I'm rambling, idk, anyone have any ideas here, or am I just being an asshole?

Just found out about the AddItemMenu - NG malware, need help and clarification.

I need help from someone with experience to determine what I should do next.

A mod called AddItemMenu - NG was uploaded to the nexus; for a moment, it shared the same name as another mod. It was deleted but turns out there's actually three versions instead of two. The original AddItemMenu, an "updated" version, and the malware version.

The malware version was deleted and the uploader banned. In 2022, I downloaded the "updated" version of the original that was uploaded by a "trusted" author that's not banned, but this version has also been taken down, unclear whether it was staff or the author themselves.

However, with research, it's possible that this mod author pulled from the same infected github source as the malware version. This version has been sitting in my modlist since 2022. Nothing seems to have happened since I installed it (that I know of), but now I'm a little paranoid.

Is this a false positive? Or is this something that I should take seriously? Can anyone that can read virustotal tab help me here?

Virus total:

The one I downloaded, the "updated" version uploaded by a "trusted" author:

Potential malware in a Skyrim mod that's been sitting in my PC since 2022. Can anyone knowledgeable decipher this?

Bizarre situation, but I need help from someone with experience to determine what I should do next.

I sent the nexus staff an email for more information if they have it, but I want to make sure I have more eyes on this, because who knows how many people downloaded this version.

Thanks to summer games fest, I've finally become jaded towards gaming "discourse".

To be blunt, seeing people act miserable in real time for no reason has to be the most cornball shit I've ever seen.

My eyes have been rolling so hard seeing the dumb shit people say to justify calling a game bad.

Doesn't matter which presentation it was, Xbox, Nintendo, Sony, people are never happy. Doesn't matter what game it is, doesn't matter the quality, doesn't matter whether you've seen any gameplay, so many people just seem to be miserable.

The best way I can describe it is corny. Apparently, GOW Faye looks terrible because the talking cube is a little weird. Apparently, OOT remake is terrible because link looks a little weird. Apparently, the new star fox looks terrible because the characters look a little weird. I can go on.

I'm sorry if I come off sounding like a pompous asshole, but I think that this unironically the most cornball shit I've ever seen.

Has anyone noticed this weird phenomenon where people take joy out of a game being considered "bad"?

Am I crazy here? It's like people go out of their way to tell someone a game is bad, and mock people that enjoy said game? Doesn't matter how inoffensive the game is originally; it's like they get this weird juvenile enjoyment out of telling strangers that a game is bad for no reason.

Personally, If I don't care for a game, I just... stop caring about it? Like I personally don't like shooters, but I don't go around telling COD fans "your game is trash XDDD", y'know?

Am I crazy here, or has anyone else noticed this?
