Urgent: Running out of medication for Yuri. Danger of relapse.

Yuri has had seizures, cloudyness in her eyes, anemia and so much more. She's doing so much better now, and seeing her recover after everything she's been through honestly means the world to me. After all the setbacks, the hospital visits, the seizures and the constant fear of losing her, seeing her improve has been such a relief.

But I'm also incredibly distraught right now.

Her current vial is almost finished, and I need around 16,000 INR for the next supply of Basmi capsules (switching because she's doing much better and the vet advised to), along with another 9,000 INR for supportive care, medication and recovery food.

As of now I am desperately in need of 8000 INR to order the Capsules.

I'm a student and I genuinely don't know how I'm going to manage these expenses anymore. I've already tried everything I can within my means, and it's heartbreaking to see her finally doing better while worrying about whether I can afford to continue her treatment.

Thank you so much to everyone who has helped Yuri and stood by us so far. I genuinely wouldn't have made it this far without your kindness.

I’m out of money, but she’s finally fighting back.

Please help me finish saving Yuri. I’m out of money, but she’s finally fighting back.

This is Yuri. She is only a few months old, and I am terrified that I’m going to lose her because I can no longer afford her treatment.

I Rescued Yuri on June 29. I never expected that this tiny kitten would become such a huge part of my life.

On August 26, everything changed.

She suddenly became extremely sick. She stopped eating, became lethargic and weak, developed neurological symptoms, and her eyes became cloudy. We were initially told she had suspected neurological FIP.

We started treatment, including GS, and then we were hit with another diagnosis: Yuri also tested positive for FPV (feline panleukopenia).

For days, she barely ate. There was vomiting and diarrhea. She became so weak that I genuinely didn't know if she would make it through the next day.

# I kept paying for her treatment anyway. Thanks to all the previous donors I raised around 43k to start the treatment and she's so much better now but I am right now in need of more 46k for her treatment to be done. Right now i don't have money for her recovery food either so I'm feeding her boiled chicken at home.

Blood tests. Injections. Fluids. Medication. GS. Hospital visits. More tests.

I'm a student with no income or savings, and I've now reached the point where I have nothing left to pay with.

And this is the part that is killing me.

Yuri is finally improving.

Her cloudy eyes have cleared. She's more alert. She's walking. She's responding to us. And after days of barely eating, she recently started eating again.

Today she actually devoured a piece of chicken liver.

I can't properly explain what that felt like after watching her refuse food for so long.

She still needs treatment, monitoring and medication. But she is showing us that she is still fighting.

I don't want money because I want to make her comfortable. I need help because there is still something to fight for.

I've already spent everything I could get together for her. The treatment is continuing, and I don't currently have enough to cover the upcoming expenses.

If you can donate, even ₹100–₹200 helps.

If you can't donate, please share this post instead. One person who sees it may be able to help us get through another few days of treatment.

I know Reddit sees hundreds of fundraisers. I know everyone has their own financial problems. I'm not asking you to save the entire bill.

I'm asking you to help me buy Yuri more time.

I can provide her medical reports, test results, prescriptions, treatment records and bills for verification. I will also continue posting updates so anyone who helps can see how she's doing and where the money is going.

Please don't let the fact that the amount you can give feels small stop you. For Yuri, ₹100 goes a long way.

Thank you for stopping to read about my little girl!

***YURI'S PHOTOS, BILLS TILL THIS DAY, PRESCRIPTION AND QR CODE EVERYTHING IS PROVIDED IN THE IMAGES (please check my previous photos for previous bills too.)***

What do I do?

Hi everyone, I really need a second opinion because I’m very confused and honestly don’t know what to trust right now.

Yuri is ~1.5 kg and started Basmi/GS for suspected neuro FIP with 10mg/kg on September 2. She was eating initially, but for the past 2 days she has completely stopped eating and is vomiting, and gone weak including vomiting when there is basically no food in her stomach. She also has very loose stools.

The vet initially said her appetite loss could be due to low haemoglobin, but then said her CBC is fine and ruled that out. He also said jaundice had started, then later said it actually hadn’t developed yet and told me not to worry. I’m confused about what is actually going on.

She is on Basmi/GS, Liver syrup (2.5 mL twice daily) and Neuro-support syrup. The liver syrup bottle says 2.5 mL/day, although the vet prescribed 2.5 mL twice daily. The vet says he has given her nausea medication, but I don't know exactly what medication, what dose, or how often, so I’m not comfortable assuming the vomiting is being properly treated.

Today he told me to skip the GS because she isn't eating. I was scared of interrupting treatment and insisted on giving it. I know consistency with antivirals is important, but I also don't want to make a bad decision because I'm panicking.

For people experienced with FIP: is this kind of vomiting/inappetence during the first week something you've seen, and what would you want checked immediately? How should I move forward so that she eats?

I can't change vets right now, so I'm not looking to attack the vet. I just need a genuinely informed second opinion on what could be happening and what I should be asking for.

I'll attach her most recent Lft and Kft in the images

Please help my rescue kitten Yuri with her Neuro FIP treatment...Any small help will do wonders right now

Hello, I'm an ACCA student living in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This is my baby Yuri she was a rescue cat and such a friendly and active one....she has been diagnosed with neuro FIP and is going to start her 84-day GS antiviral treatment.

the problem is I started her treatment even though I had no financial reserves left, because waiting for me to somehow arrange the money first could mean losing her chance to recover. I have already put my savings and asked around for help as much as I can as a student with no source of income ...

She is currently extremely weak. She has seizures, is very wobbly, and struggles to walk properly. Watching such a tiny baby go through this has been devastating, but I’m trying everything I can to keep her fighting.

The GS medication and admission alone can cost up to around ₹60,000 for the full treatment, and that doesn't include consultations, blood tests, supportive medicines, food, and other veterinary expenses that come with an 84-day treatment.

I’m actively trying to raise money now because I simply cannot carry the entire cost by myself as a student.

Fundraising goal: ₹60000

Emergency amount needed while posting this: ₹25000 for more vials and admission fees

Raised so far: ₹13k

I completely understand that people may be cautious about donating online. I would be too. That’s why I’m willing to be completely transparent.

I can provide Yuri’s prescriptions, medical records, bills, treatment updates, photos/videos, and proof of expenses as soon as the treatment starts this evening (1:19 pm ist as I'm texting this on September 2nd) I’m also willing to personally update every donor about Yuri’s progress and explain where their money was spent, down to each rupee, as much as possible.

I’m not asking anyone to donate a huge amount. Even ₹50, ₹100 or ₹200 can help me keep her treatment going. And if you genuinely cannot donate, an upvote or share can still help this reach someone who can.

She’s just a tiny kitten trying to survive something and it breaks my heart to see her this way. I’ve already started treatment because I refuse to give up on her, but I need help keeping it going.

She's currently at the hospital admitted I will soon update this post with my username and her in the same picture thank you please spare me time cuz I have to visit her

Title: Please help me save my kitten Yuri from neurological FIP | Hyderabad, India

Hi everyone. I’m an ACCA student from Hyderabad, India, and I’m trying to raise funds for my kitten Yuri, who has been diagnosed with neurological FIP.

Yuri is only around 1.5 kg. She became very weak and unwell recently, and her vet has recommended starting GS-441524 antiviral treatment as soon as possible.r

She is not able to eat she's been having seizures and also can't stand

The cost is overwhelming for me. The GS medication alone could cost up to approximately ₹56,000 for the remaining 84 days of treatment, depending on her dosage and how her weight changes. So far for two days it had cost me 10k heavy for her medication saline and haemoglobin treatment... While I'm fundraising the amount I'm seeking doesn't include veterinary visits, blood tests, supportive medication, or other expenses that may come up during treatment...im willing to ask around friends and put all my student savings in that..

I’m a student and I simply cannot manage this amount on my own.

I’m terrified that money will prevent me from continuing Yuri’s treatment when she needs it most. I know that stopping early or giving an inadequate treatment course can put her at risk of relapse, and I don't want her chances of recovery to depend on whether I can somehow find the money each week.

My overall fundraising goal is ₹40k.

My current emergency goal is ₹4k to get her treatment started and keep it going immediately.

Amount raised so far: 12000/56000

Expenses paid so far: 27k

I have Yuri’s veterinary prescription and I’m happy to provide additional bills, medical records, photos and videos whenever they become available. I will also keep posting continuous updates about Yuri’s treatment, progress and expenses so everything is transparent.

Seeking advice

My 4-5 month old kitten has suspected neurological FIP. Financial difficulties are making me consider euthanasia. Please help me understand her chances.

I’m in Hyderabad, India, and I’m trying to make an extremely difficult decision about my kitten Yuri. I’m looking for advice from people who have actually dealt with neurological FIP, especially people whose cats were treated with GS-441524/remdesivir.

Yuri is a female kitten, approximately 4–5 months old. She was mostly an outdoor kitten before I took her in. She weighed around 1.75 kg before becoming sick.

Timeline

Around Aug 27:

She suddenly became very lethargic and started walking slowly. She was eating less than normal and seemed weak/dehydrated. She also started urinating/defecating in unusual places.

Aug 29:

She developed a very high fever, around 105°F (40.6°C). We took her to a government veterinary hospital and she received injections and around 50 mL of saline.

Aug 30:

She was still very weak and wasn't drinking water normally. However, she did eat wet cat food and cat cream treats. She was also very sleepy/weak and seemed to seek warmth.

She then developed increasingly abnormal neurological behaviour. She would stare at things that weren't there, seemed confused/disoriented, and had episodes that appeared seizure-like. Her behaviour changed dramatically from her normal personality.

We took her to a private veterinary hospital, Anicare in Hyderabad, where she is currently hospitalized.

Current situation

The vet has told me that he believes Yuri has neurological FIP.

Her bloodwork showed low haemoglobin. The vet has also mentioned additional testing, including liver testing, but I have significant financial limitations.

She has become extremely difficult to handle and can be snappy/attempt to bite, which wasn't her normal behaviour. The neurological changes and possible seizures happened after she became sick and after the veterinary visits, not as a long-standing behavioural issue.

She is currently being hospitalized and receiving supportive treatment.

My biggest problem...

Financial problem.

This is the part making the decision much harder.

My family has financial difficulties. I don't have a large amount of money available for an extended hospitalization, and the vet is aware of this.

I'm scared that I'm going to make the wrong decision either way.

I don't want to euthanize Yuri simply because treatment is expensive if she genuinely has a reasonable chance of recovery.

But I also don't want to put her through weeks of treatment if her neurological condition is already too severe and she has very little chance of recovering.

The vet has been somewhat hesitant when discussing treatment, and I'm not sure whether that's because of her medical condition, the cost, or both.

I have asked about antiviral treatment, but I am still trying to understand whether remdesivir/GS-441524 is actually available to us in Hyderabad and what the realistic cost would be.

Please be honest with me. I'm not looking for false hope, but I also don't want to give up on her prematurely.

i have toughen up my heart and i wanna put her out of misery if it's not gonna get any better.

If you have experience with neurological FIP, especially in India/Hyderabad, I would really appreciate hearing what happened with your cat and what you would consider in Yuri's situation.

Thank you.
