Bus to Highmark Stadium - 253 MTC

I’m headed to open practice tomorrow and the NFTA says that there’s a direct bus from the Metropolitan Transit Center to Highmark that leaves the MTC at 0730am.

Where exactly is the bus stop? Is it inside the building where the 1, 2, 40, and 43 stops are OR is it outside the building on North Division?

I HATE sending payment reminder texts! Don’t make me do it!

I’ve officially stepped away from nannying, but do drop-in days on my days off from work (I work in a school now, so I have 2 weeks off in June and 2 weeks off in August).

I never had any issues with the family I nanny for, really. When I was their nanny, I was on payroll and there was never an issue. But if I do babysitting nights or drop-in days, it’ll be over 24 hours before I get paid. Most times, I have to send them a reminder text. It bothers me so much because I don’t want to feel like I’m hounding & nagging, but using this week as an example — I just started my job and started at the beginning of a pay period meaning I don’t get paid for a MONTH. I’ve been doing okay, but I need the payment of the day I’m dropping in to be sent within a few hours. I have meticulously planned out my budget with which payments get paid with that money and their nonchalance around my payment irks me.

I’m always cordial and kind. I never press them for it. Asking for payment makes my stomach turn, but I did work 10+ hours on my days off and I should be paid for that work in a decent amount of time.

I’ve been a nanny for 8 years, in early childhood for 15+, and asking for payment never seems to get easier.

MFS vs. MFJ?

Long story short: I just got a new job that pays about $5 less than what I was previously making. When I was making $27/hr., I was making $8 more than my wife. I also had state tax debt that is now on a payment plan for the last 1.5 years. I was told because I was the higher earner and to avoid having my wife’s tax return applied to my debts, whether federal or state, we should file MFS. We’ve been doing that. We also both withhold an extra $10 for federal taxes and for state taxes (we were hit with a huge bill several years ago after not changing our withholding after entering a higher tax bracket and I never want to go thru that again).

After receiving my first paycheck from my new job and our hourly rate being closer together than before, I was wondering if we should still be filing Married but Separate or should we be okay doing Married Filing Jointly?

CPTSD and ADHD? Any advice helps

TW: mention of abuse and drugs

I l know these two have overlapping symptoms. I’m unsure which one it is.

I have a huge problem with forgetfulness (probably doesn’t help that I am an avid cannabis smoker). One small thing turns into a handful of small things until it becomes a bigger issue. For example: my wife and I ordered $75 worth of quality Thai food last night. Delish! Didn’t finish it. It was still hot, so I left it to cool in the microwave until it was ready to be placed in the fridge. My wife’s food had raw fish and one item had a fried egg on top, meaning these things had to go into the fridge once it’s cooled enough. Of course, out of sight and out of mind, so I went to sleep and left it in the microwave all night. This isn’t the first time I’ve done that. She found it this morning and had to toss the raw fish roll and a portion of her food that had the egg. She was very angry and disappointed. Here’s me, swearing I put it away. I even made room in the fridge for it! I’m confused on how I let that happen. Our conversation deepens and she mentions her disappointment and that I need to grow up, she’s had a lot of patience with me, and she’s exhausted and it’s time I help myself consistently.

We have done couples therapy together and we are aware of our flaws & we have a whole toolbox for issues. So I’m not looking for marital advice. I’m looking for advice and guidance on what to do about this brain of mine! I went thru nonstop trauma since I was a child: my mom is a narcissist and a drug addict that was very abusive, went to rehab a few times, the abuse changed from physical to emotional/verbal as I got older. I was diagnosed with CPTSD, but the ADHD diagnosis is kinda hanging in the air because I don’t have insurance to get the evaluation. Two therapists have highly suggested I have ADHD, as well.

I was feeling pretty okay about myself and my life and my progress… then feel saddened and annoyed and angered by myself that I can’t remember to do basic things.

Any advice would help. Please.

Antibacterial body wash?

I have generally sensitive skin.
I get bad ingrowns under my arms, pimples between my thighs from rubbing, and I just recently got a horrific boil in the most inconvenient place (think the under carriage. Like the fold between your thigh and vulva / butt. Thankfully it came to a head, mostly drained, and I’ve been using gauze to keep it covered & cleaned).

I want to avoid all of this if it’s bacterial infections and all that. I also had really bad tinea.

I only ever used Dove Sensitive. I recently switched to Native. I’m a double cleanse girl and use an African net.

I’ve been reading about Dove Antibacterial and Dial Gold body wash.

What are your suggestions?

First boil as an adult; need advice.

And it’s in the most inconvenient, private spot: the under carriage! Literally the spot where your butt meets your vulva and your leg goes into the joint. It started after I popped a pimple. Two days later, incredibly painful and red. Hot compresses and a sitz bath later, came to a head. Less than 13 hours later, it ruptured. I’ve been on the mend. It has drained mostly, just a little pus/liquid now; no blood anymore. It’s a HUGE hole though! I’m keeping it clean, have gauze over it, use a bidet, change the gauze three times a day. My wife has been a saint and helping me with this. I’m not in nearly any pain in comparison to before; it just stings if water touches it. My wife wants me to go to my primary (if I could even get in). Everything I’ve been reading says I don’t need to unless I have a fever, it hasn’t started healing within a week, or you think it’s infected which I think the healing has been great.

What else should I do?

My current NF is leaving to move in a month. Originally, they had stated I had until about mid-July. Now, it’s beginning of June. I haven’t seen many posts for a full-time nanny in my area and I’ve been reaching out like crazy for those that are offering full-time on Care and Facebook groups. I’m starting to lose hope and am in a bit of a panic.

I have done plenty of jobs before. Back when I was home in NYC, I was an admin assistant for a short time, then a bookseller and became floor manager of the bookstore. I was also an early childhood educator in between nannying. As I’m applying to jobs outside of nannying (think admin jobs for the most part), what skill sets can I highlight?

I don’t want to be skipped over just because I was a nanny. I know I can bring a lot to the table with my degrees and certifications alone, but I’m stuck on translating my nannying skills over to admin skills.
