Encode happy owners?
Am I one of the few people that is happy with their Encode? I did have trouble with connecting to wifi as my Netgear router have autoswitch bands feature, but once I set a guest 2.4Gb wifi dedicated to the lock I haven't had connectivity issues since. It did download a new firmware right after I got it connected and it just received version 7.0.1367012 just yesterday through the app and it seems to be working fine. No complaints about battery life, original AA batteries still have 86% left and I've had it for almost 3 months. I still carry the key as backup but I try to use the keypad 99% of the time.
JLC W&W Novelties 2026 (56k do not click)
My local boutique notified me that they just received the W&W Novelties so I made a visit yesterday to check them out. Overall they are quite thin and with any integrated bracelet watch, they wrap around your wrist comfortably making them quite easy to wear. The bracelets have micro adjustments on both sides that extends half-link long. The Master Control Chronometer Date at 38mm is the entry model starting at $14.2K but the one I prefer the most is the Master Control Chronometer Date Power Reserve 39mm at 17K. The blue-grey gradient sunray-brushed dial leans closer to the grey side comparing to most blue dial watches available and is quite subtle and understated until the light hits it and you see a glimpse of blue coming out. All 3 models can slip under the cuff very easily. The movements are highly finished (higher than usual for regular JLC level of finishing) and provide 70 hours of power reserve. There's zero lume on all 3 models, despite having the dots which on the vintage models were lumed. None of them have screw down crowns and both the power reserve and perp. calendar models have hidden pushers for advancing the date.
The brown dial rose gold models are quite nice also but Master Control Chronometer Date Power Reserve is only available in stainless steel.
SA mention that leather straps will be offered as an accessory in the near future.
They are taking deposits now and delivery starts in October this year.
While I was there, they have limited edition, 1 of 200 Reverso Tribute Small Seconds in white gold with the milanese bracelet that was waiting for customer pickup. Wow. What a dial and you can feel the weight.
I also got to see the new, smaller Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds in 42.9x25.5mm.
Thank you Catherine and Andrew at JLC Yorkdale for your hospitality.
Brembo GT Big Brake Kit - BRB1A4.3002A2
Does anybody have the Brembo GT Big Brake Kit installed? Is it substantially better than stock single piston calipers?
Suspension - honest talk
So I finally got a set of fresh Michelin PS5 on the factory 17" Abarth wheels.
Honestly I think the stock suspension is quite stiff already that nothing else need to be done. I don't need rear thicker bar, no lowering spring, nothing.
I have a 2009 Porsche Boxster S on stock suspension, 18"s with Michelin PS4S tires and the Abarth suspension is stiffer.
2026 Frame Pro - all good now?
Is there any software issues with the latest 2026 Frame Pro?
I'm trying to get a Frame 65" mounted in-set into the wall above a gas fireplace. Installer said it's going to be $600-700 CAD not including electrical work as I don't have a power outlet on that wall. Is that normal installation cost for these TVs ?
