FET soon!

hi all!

I am gearing up for an FET in a few weeks to hopefully have a second and make my amazing daughter a big sister. Due to DOR/POI, I moved onto using donor eggs (my daughter is from my own egg and donor sperm, I always say she was my last good egg!). I used the same donor sperm, so any (hopefully) future child would be a half-sibling to my daughter.

I have three embryos frozen (two day 6 4BB and one day 7 4BC). I was pretty disappointed I didn't get any day 5 or excellent quality embryos, but my clinic has very strict criteria on what embryos are allowed to be frozen and their success rates for even day 7 embryos are close to 40-50%.

My REI feels pretty good about my chances for one successful pregnancy and live birth with these three embryos.

The past 9 months have, for lack of a better word, really sucked. I have had a failed FET (with the only other embryo I ever made with my own eggs) and three rounds of IVF that resulted in zero embryos before I decided to move onto donor eggs. While all of this was going on, my sister successfully got pregnant as a gestational carrier on her first ever FET. So I've kind of been an emotional basket case the past few months. I am SO ready to be done with all things fertility

Would love to hear success stories and just some positivity!

Donor Egg Results

Hi all!

I posted last week that I had a cohort of 8 donor eggs thawed. 8 out of 8 survived the thaw and 4 fertilized. I got the call yesterday that none were ready to freeze. Embryologist called today and I have two day 6 embryos! One is a 4BB and one is a 4BC/BB. I had a morula yesterday that did progress so they are getting it grow one more day.

Egg donor was 28 at time of retrieval. I was so excited that I had any embryos to freeze! But I am a little bummed that the one embryo is lower quality. I know grading is subjective and she did say both "looked good".

I have been on a long road the past 9 months with 3 rounds of IVF that resulted in zero embryos. I was diagnosed with DOR and labeled a poor responder to stims as well. It took me awhile to get to a place where I feel at peace using DE, but now that I am here I want nothing more than to have another child and give my amazing daughter a sibling.

I guess I'm just looking for support and success stories!
update: got the call that they were able to freeze a day 7 4BC, truly the little embryo that could

Donor Eggs

After a long journey to try to have a second child, I have moved onto using donor eggs.

I had a cohort of 8 frozen eggs from Fairfax Egg Bank that were thawed yesterday and I was really excited to hear that all 8 survived the thaw. The embryologist called this morning and let me know only 4 of the 8 eggs fertilized, which was incredibly disappointing as they were hoping for closer to 5-6.

Would love to hear some success stories from others who had a similar journey.

Secondary infertility

I have been diagnosed with secondary infertility and am moving onto using donor eggs to try to have a second child. Over the past 9 months, I have had a failed FET and three rounds of IVF that resulted in zero embryos.

My sister recently had an FET to be a gestational carrier and she told me yesterday that her transfer was successful. I am so proud of her, but I am struggling with this more than I thought I would. I thought for sure I would be pregnant well before she had her transfer, which obviously did not happen. I feel guilty that I don't feel I have been as supportive as I should be, and honestly I am jealous as well. My sister and I have a great relationship, so she is aware of how complicated this all is for me. I also know how incredibly lucky I am to have gotten pregnant with my daughter.

My donor eggs will be thawed and fertilized this Friday and I am so nervous that I won't have a good outcome.

Donor eggs

Hi everyone! I am a SMBC to a wonderful 21 month old little girl i conceived via donor sperm. I've been trying for a second for 9 months now (one failed FET, three rounds of IVF with terrible results), so I'm moving onto donor eggs. I have DOR and have also been a poor responder to several different protocols. I have chosen a donor with a cohort of 8 frozen eggs from Fairfax. I unfortunately cannot utilize their embryo guarantee as I only have a partial vial of donor sperm left and no way to get another one, so my clinic will be shaving it to save the rest just in case and this voids their guarantee, which is super frustrating since the donor sperm is also from Fairfax

My clinic asked me if I want to plan to do a fresh transfer that is fully medicated or a modified natural FET. I'm torn on what to do. My daughter was a successful fresh transfer after an ER. I had a failed fully medicated FET in Feb, but my clinic is pretty confident the embryo was abnormal (it was untested). I have had a lot of issues with ovulating through OCP and Lupron three separate times and my progesterone for my fully medicated cycle was on the lower end of normal, so that is making me lean more towards a modified natural. I ovulate regularly and in the past, my uterine lining has consistently been 9-11mm on its own. Anyone with experience? I have to decide by next week.

Modified Natural Transfer

i'm getting ready to purchase a cohort of donor eggs and fertilize them with donor sperm. I met with my clinic today and discussed options for modified natural versus fully medicated. FET. I had a successful fresh transfer in early 2024 that resulted in my daughter(I was able to use my own eggs for this round). I did a fully medicated FET earlier this year that was unsuccessful (likely due to a genetically abnormal embryo as it was untested).

I have been doing a lot of reading on the new literature that has come out on modified natural transfers. I am 34 and while I do have DOR, I still ovulate regularly. My uterine lining typically gets above 10 cm on its own during my cycle. I just feel like I put my body through such high doses of hormones lately between a failed FET and two unsuccessful rounds of IVF.

my REI was open to doing this and said he would do whatever I preferred, but he does fully medicated FETs more often. Wanted to others experience.

Donor eggs

hi everyone, I am in the process of looking for donor eggs. does anyone have experience with Elevate Baby for frozen eggs? I found a donor I really like with MyEggBank, but ran across Elevate Baby website during my search. I can't seem to find as much information on them as other egg banks.

Donor eggs

Hi everyone, I am in the process of moving onto using donor eggs after a failed FET and several failed rounds of IVF. I have a 21 month old daughter from my first round of IVF. My sister has generously and selflessly offered to possibly donate her eggs. She has already spoken to my brother-in-law about it and they are both on board. Our issue is our timing is unfortunately not great. My sister is scheduled for an FET next month to be a surrogate, so if it is successful this would obviously push the timeline back and likely would not be to look into this as a possibility until Fall 2027 at the earliest. I have DOR and my sister has never had to have her fertility tested, so we obviously do not even know if this would be a viable option.

I am meeting with my clinic this week to discuss the process of moving onto donor eggs in general.

I am not quite where what to do. If my sister was not committed to being a surrogate I would 100% move forward with this option. I will be 35 later this year and wanted my kids to be close in age and to be done having kids/being pregnant sooner rather than later.

Starting stims on CD9?

I am planning on trying one last round of IVF before possibly moving onto donor eggs. My last round went very poorly (2 poor quality eggs, no embryos). I met with my REI last week and he is going to change my protocol and add in Omnitrope this time.

I was on Provera for 10 days after my egg retrieval 2 weeks ago and got my period last week. I do not go in for baseline blood work/ultrasound until tomorrow, which will be CD5 and he said his plan is yo not start stims and omnitrope until Saturday, which would be CD9? This seems SO late to me and I brought this up, but he said if my baseline blood work looked okay it would not be too late.

I know clinics will sometimes do random or late starts for patients with DOR, but he didn't really discuss anytbing like this in detail. Just confused as to how I can get blood work done CD5 and just randomly start stims CD9?

Mini IVF

Would love to get experiences with people who have gone through mini IVF.

for context: I did a round of IVF in 2023 (6 mature eggs, 2 blasts, one successful fresh transfer, one failed FET). both embryos untested

i just did another round of IVF and it went pretty awful (2 poor quality eggs, no blasts). stim doses were much higher this round and I stimmed for 14 days

I am 34 with DOR. I am a single mom by choice and only have a partial vial of donor sperm left and no way to get additional vials.

struggling with pushing for a round of mini IVF before I consider moving onto donor eggs. I would keep trying longer with my own eggs, but I will unfortunately run out of donor sperm. I have a 1.5 year old daughter.

any advice is appreciated! I meet with my REI this afternoon.

one more IVF round vs donor eggs

hi everyone, I am a SMBC to a 1.5 little girl conceived with donor sperm. I have been unsuccessfully trying for a second child this year. Had an FET that failed and a recent ER with 2 poor quality eggs, no blasts. I am considering trying one more round of IVF versus switching to donor eggs. I initially thought I would not consider this option, but now that I am in a place where I am facing the possibility that I may not be able to have a second child, I found that is what I am thinking about as next steps. I am pretty conflicted about what to do next. I only have one partial vial of sperm left from my daughter's donor and he is retired, so I am unable to get any additional vials.

anyone who has one genetic child and one conceived via donor eggs? would love to get others experience! I plan to be very open with my daughter about how she was conceived and would plan on the same for any future children.

i feel like egg donation would be in the best interest of my daughter and potential future child since they would be half siblings, but obviously this path is very expensive.

I had my second ER today and only had 2 mature eggs retrieved. I had 4 measurable follicles a few days ago, so I was really hoping for 4 eggs. I'm pretty devastated and am trying to prepare myself that none of the eggs fertilize or make it to the blast stage. I got 6 mature eggs in 2023 and had 2 make it to blast stage (one successful fresh transfer, one failed FET, both untested). My REI recommended I do PGT-A testing on any embryos I get this time.

I know it only takes one, but can't help but feel this cycle is likely not going to have a good result.

Update: I got the call this morning that one egg fertilized

I went in for an ultrasound today and only have 5 measurable follicles. I have 4 on the left ovary that are growing well, the 1 on the right is only 9 mm so they aren't sure if it is going to catch up (it did go from 6 mm to 9 mm in two days). I have borderline DOR (AMH is 1.54), but I'm pretty disappointed in how things are going so far. I did my first ER in late 2023 and got 6 mature eggs, 4 fertilized, 2 blasts. had a successful fresh transfer and just did an FET last month that failed (clinic thinks it was an embryo issue).

I am getting pretty worried I won't even end up with even one normal embryo, or even any embryos to send off for testing. Would love to hear some success stories if anyone had similar numbers.
