Doctor gave me the incorrect medication duration costing me thousands
While pregnant I had a blood clot which required me to go on expensive injections for the duration of my pregnancy and sometime after. My family doctor had found the blood clot and consulted hematology regarding the plan for blood thinners and passed this information along to my OB when my care was handed over. I asked my OB prior to giving birth how long I needed to remain on blood thinners and I was told 3 months. I asked again after giving birth and she again told me 3 months and discharged me home with the prescription. At my 6 week follow up with my family doctor I was told I could stop taking my injections. I was confused and stated I was told in multiple occasions I needed to stay on them for 3 months so I had already purchased the medication. My doctor then reviewed the hematology recommendations which clearly stated I only required the medication for 6 weeks following birth.
These injections are about $50 a shot so I spent approximately $2100 more than I needed to on medication that is now garbage. I cannot return them or give them to anyone else. I was told to bring them back to the pharmacy so they can be disposed of properly.
Replacing pump parts
I currently am using the eufy s1 and spectra s1. I am 7wpp and have heard many people mention in this sub about replacing pump parts around 3 months. I would like to order additional parts but I’m unsure what I should be replacing and where I should be buying replacement parts from. Amazon has a lot of options with what looks like good reviews. Is it safe to order parts there? If not, where should I be buying them? I did look at the spectra website but one set of duck bills is almost $40. It seems expensive compared to the much cheaper multipacks on Amazon. Is that just the going rate or is there a way for me to buy decent products (preferably a multipack) for a reasonable price.

Advise on EP
Looking for advice. As a FTM I had no intention of exclusively pumping. My plan was always to breast feed and pump on occasion so I could have occasional breaks when needed. Unfortunately my daughter and I could not achieve a proper latch. Now we are 14 days postpartum and exclusively pumping. I bought the eufy S1 pro which has been the only pump I’ve been using. I average 30-90 ml per boob per pump and pump every 3-4 hours. I do have a slacker boob that at most puts out 60ml per session. I did buy a haakaa and a manual pump to have on hand just in case.
I have a few questions for some of the more experienced pumpers. First off, how the hell does anyone get any sleep? I try to time my pumps with her feeds but it is difficult to feed a baby while pumping at the same time. I get 1-2 hours of sleep at a time with the occasional 3 hour window but that is rare.
Secondly, I’m debating buying a second pump and the eufy S2 is looking really good right now. Would it be crazy to have two wearable pumps? I see most people have a spectra or medula symphony as their main pump but is that necessary? How do you tend to your baby while using it?
Thirdly, how do you address slacker boob? I’ve tried showering prior to pumping, skin to skin while pumping, massage, heated blanket, and warm wash cloth compress. None seem to make any difference. That breast feels more dense and uncomfortable and I just don’t know how to drain it. I can tolerate any higher suction than what I’m using (which is only level 2-3) and I double checked my flange size and it seems right.
Thanks in advance for any advice/recommendations. I feel very lost and confused if I am doing this right or if I am missing things that will make my life easier.
Currently being induced and hoping to have a baby today
Today is my scheduled induction day. I am currently having mild contractions while I have my lunch. Hoping I will get to finally meet my baby girl later today.
Pregnancy blood clot follow up testing
30 F currently 37 weeks pregnant. I had a DVT in my left leg at 18 weeks pregnant and have been on daltaparin 15,000 units since (a decrease from an initial 5 week treatment of 80mg lovenox BID). I had a blood test done for anti phospholipid syndrome but have had no further testing. I am aware this could be pregnancy induced but would also like to request further testing for clotting disorders. The health care in my province is currently terrible. It takes years to get in to see specialists. I have a very good relationship with my nurse practitioner and know she will do further testing if I request it but I’m not sure what to specifically request. Looking for guidance of what testing I should request and when I should request it. The current plan is for to remain on daltaparin for 12 weeks following pregnancy.
