Would you prefer the flexibility to serve NS before 30?

In Taiwan and South Korea, men have the flexibility of choosing NS before they become 30. If they fail to report before then, they would be liable for legal prosecution. Many people would choose to serve after graduating from university, or for celebrities or sportsmen, after their career stabilises.

But in Singapore, we do not have such an option. You must enlist after your post-secondary education. You cannot defer for university studies. The good thing is that you can put NS behind you as you commence your career or adult lives.

Which system would you prefer?
