Program transfer query(upvote kardou warna😭🙏🙏)

I wanna know how would a transfer work from one department to another. If I’m giving the net, tou gpa lena hai ya kya scene hai? I’m willing to give net 1 as I’m a few marks short and I feel like hojae ga admission if I put in some extra effort.

If not a transfer, then I’m willing to start over from sem 1 but if someone can explain the process.

I looked at some older posts but koi khas explanation nahi mili so if someone can help out🥀🥀🥀

Is Geoinformatics a good move for data science?

So basically I’m an fsc student and just gonna be starting uni. I wanted to go for nust for data science but I don’t have the merit for it.

I have two options now. I can go to air university for computer engineering or geoinformatics at Nust. I did some comparison for the course outline and honestly Geoinformatics is surprisingly a good field.

Let’s talk about the courses, for Geoinformatics, we got fundamentals of programming, oop, dsa, web technologies, machine learning, data mining and warehousing and possibly data science, big data analytics, digital image processing and artificial intelligence as electives. It also has a lot of math for eg analytical geometry, probability and statistics and a few more math courses important for ds. I will pursuing MS in the future in data science/machine learning.

For Air, it has a better foundation but courses like deep learning, machine learning, data science and a whole lot more electives are given but electives aren’t really guaranteed. I would have to self learn in both cases. I’m willing to put an extra effort side by side if I go into geoinformatics.

What could possibly be a better move? Considering there’s quite a bit of overlapping and self study still has to be done even if I’m doing computer engineering at Air University.

CE from Air or Geoinformatics from NUST

I had applied for Data Science but unfortunately couldn't make it in to NUST.

As the title suggests, do I go for computer engineering at air or geoinformatics at nust?

Seniors drop some ball knowledge😭😭🙏🙏

I can't get into ds with 66 aggregate, although I can get into geoinformatics. I wanna know how similar these two are. I looked through the course outline and they both are hella similar in terms of the course but just wanna know how closely geoinformatics is linked to cs/ds waighaira idk if I should go for it or just choose a diff uni like air uni. I do wanna specialize in ML later on. Is this a good move?🥀🥀

Need Advice

Hey everyone, so I recently gave net 4 and got 126. I’m from A levels background and didn’t get much prep time, and my aggregate is 66%. I wanted to do data science at seecs but that’s not happening with this score, so now I’m stuck.

My first option is giki. I gave their entry test and the results aren't out yet so it's not guaranteed, but if I do get in, I'll definitely go there. Aside from that, I have two other choices if giki doesn't work out.

One is air university where my admission is already guaranteed for computer engineering. I might give their phase 4 test au cbt to improve my aggregate.

The other option is staying at nust for geoinformatics. I didn't know much about it but saw a post on reddit and looked up the courses. They both have the same programming courses, plus geoinformatics is also offering courses like dsa, big data analytics, machine learning, and AI as well.

I know geoinformatics focuses on satellites and maps, but since a lot of the courses overlap with data science, I wanted to know about the transition later on. Is it difficult or can I easily just land a job in data science, like would it even make a difference? I've heard geoinformatics might limit me to just earth related fields and google maps, whereas data science will let me work in so many sectors and I won't only be limited to that. I wanna know if its true or not.

So does a transition like that even exist, and how difficult would it be? Or should I just go for computer engineering at air university? I don't have any other options right now so any advice would help a lot.

PLS STOP WITH THE MISINFORMATION!!

First of all, not paid by Nustrive to say this, but I'm saying it because people are panicking.

I saw a post saying Nustrive lms mcqs are ai-generated and blah blah blah, and I just wanna say, bro if it doesn't work for you that's fine, but don't stress everyone else out. I gave NET 3 after doing a few FLPs, and I improved by 35 marks. Around 10–12 MCQs were repeated.

Opar se koi einstein ki aulaad was commenting that the FLPs before the LMS were worth it. Bro, those same FLPs are in the LMS too😭😭literally all of them. And yeah, I won't argue that some questions are from Hashim Zia's marathons (I've watched the some of the playlists), but obv syllabus is the same and there are past paper questions that students share after giving the NET, so they just add those too.

My point is, guys haters ki jal rahi hai😤😤yall keep working hard, keep practicing, and good luck for your NET.

EDIT: Unka insta page and broadcast channel bhara hua hai from people using the lms and sharing their reviews.
