What to do if I suspect that a bot hacked itself into an existing normal, aged account?

Suddenly, it started to post in English instead of the previous language, and it cannot differentiate between a line drawing and a painting. No painting history, either. It's a suspicion, and I am asking for ideas on what to do. Should I let it go? Report it? I don't really want to ban the account, because once the owner recovers it, they might want to join the sub. Any specific test that worked for you in the past that helped you assess if the account was a bot? TIA

My idea is to have a 3rd option added to the existing allowing or disallowing followers in the user profile settings.

This 3rd option could allow follower requests, so we can have control over who can follow us in the user profile. At the moment, if it is on, anyone can follow us without asking, and in some cases, it can make us vulnerable. So we turn it off. Instead of opting out, we could accept those we have interacted with and check profiles before accepting someone. It would create a better quality of social connections throughout the platform.

Will you forgive me if I say I saw all your kind answers yesterday, but I couldn't interact with my own post?

I just want to say thank you for the answers from yesterday, on the topic of you-know-what kind of watercolour subject. I found them very useful. The known technical issue is being sorted out.

How do you decide which posts fall into the NSFW category?

I think it's hard to decide if our latest submission falls into the category or not (watercolorpractice). To me, it's OK, but how do you know if Reddit classifies it as NSFW or not? The filter hasn't caught it, and I think it's a grey area. Would you remove this from an SFW sub? It's the latest post at the moment.

July Challenge #1 - Not Too Proud of This

Thank goodness we have other photos, because this one looks messy. And I can't paint rocks. 😭 Mixed media work.

Do you think the boat should he bigger?

Work in progress, July Challenge. Sorry for the typo, I wanted to write "should BE bigger" 😂😂😂

I will draw this for the monthly challenge. There is a traceable image in the comment area. 👇

Tip: if you don't like to paint reflections, draw a field instead. 🙂

Monthly Theme, July 2026: "Trees and Foliage"

This month, our theme is “Trees and Foliage". The images are from Pixabay, everyone is free to copy them and create an artwork based on them. This month, we have chosen 4 photos, because they represent different challenges. Of course, you can use your own reference images of the same theme. We welcome artists of all experience levels. Feel free to bring your own ideas to life. Share your reference photos, sketches, works in progress, and finished pieces.

NEW! Everyone who completes a challenge gets a unique badge with a trophy in it. (See mine for reference.) If you submit 2 works, you get two trophies, and so on.

While watercolour pencils are our subreddit’s main medium, you are welcome to explore mixed media watercolours, inks, gouache, or other watercolour-like wet media that doesn't dry waterproof.

If you share reference photos, please make sure they are ones you are happy for others to use as inspiration. We love seeing how creativity spreads and evolves here, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with. Have fun, and please add your work below and/or post it directly in the subreddit. See more photos below. 👇 😉

Never Underestimate The White

White pencil and white gouache can save your work by recovering the lost highlights.

Can you spot troublemakers early on? Do you wait until they play it or...?

The troublemaker, in my understanding, is someone who starts to insult others in a passive-aggressive way, but goes very far to mask it, so it doesn't seem like an insult. Yet, they manage to make everyone angry.

How do you handle these situations? Have you ever banned someone because the "vibe" didn't fit into the sub? (I'm not planning to do this, I simply want to know how others handle these situations.)

How about a little bit of colour theory?

I have worked on this all day, guys. Is it clear how colours become muted, and what are the colour undertones? Should I add more explanation?

My idea is to have the ability to turn off ads that contain food.

Some people have eating disorders, food addictions or diabetes, and they might not want to see big burgers, grilled cheese or cakes all the time. Or they try to lose some pounds and they can't.

A Very Special Girl Painted This

There is a rehability centre nearby, and sometimes I grab some art supplies and let people with disability use them. They love colouring. This was made by a very special little girl, using watercolours and watercolour pencils. She asked me to post it for her. 🩷

How does the hot summer affect your motivation?

Honestly, I have been thinking of drawing and painting all day, but the weather is so warm that I kind of lose motivation. Do you paint as much as you used to?
