Does anyone here go to Invictus, Islamabad?

I’ve been thinking about joining Invictus, but wanted to hear from current/past members before I commit, particularly women.

How have you found it overall? I’m especially curious about the coed timings. Do you feel comfortable training during them? If you like the setup, what do you like about it? And if you don’t, what specifically puts you off? Any particular experiences, concerns, or things I should know before joining would be really helpful.

I’m not particularly interested in getting a PT because I’ve done that before at another gym and, for what it cost, I honestly didn’t find it worth it lol.

So if any women (or men, I don’t judge) here already train at Invictus and would be up for occasionally training together, I’d be open to that too. But first I need to establish whether the gym itself is actually worth joining lol.

Would really appreciate honest reviews, good or bad.

“Don’t try to find me. You cannot.” Seven years later, I’m still trying.

This is an enormous long shot, but I’ve been trying to find someone for years and I’m hoping someone here might recognise something.
Around seven years ago, on my birthday, I received a very long anonymous message from someone who signed it “Stygian.”

I never knew their real name. I don’t even know their gender with certainty. At the time, I wasn’t in a situation where I felt comfortable pursuing an anonymous message like that. By the time my circumstances changed and I seriously tried to find this person, I couldn’t.

I’ve looked for them on and off for years since.
I’m not going to post the original message because it was extremely personal, and regardless of whether I ever find this person, I want to respect the privacy of what they wrote to me.

Unfortunately, I have very little concrete information to work with. These are some of the details they gave me:

- They signed the message “Stygian.”

- They appeared to have strong ties to Pakistan.

- They said they had changed schools frequently growing up and had lived/travelled in different places.

- They said they had spent time in Ankara, Turkey, where they had a teacher called Sir Ashraf, whom they described as a Pakistani man who had left Pakistan and settled in Turkey and taught schoolchildren there.

- They mentioned having an uncle from Balochistan and quoted a Balochi saying the uncle had shared with them.

At some point afterward, I found an Instagram account that I thought might have been connected to them. Its profile picture was a Charles Bukowski quote. I was never able to establish whether the account actually belonged to the writer, but it appears to be inactive.

There are other details in the original message that I’m deliberately withholding so that, if somebody contacts me claiming to be Stygian or to know them, I have a way of verifying it.

The reason I’m still looking after seven years is difficult to explain without publishing the message itself. It wasn’t an ordinary birthday wish. It was an incredibly personal, thoughtful and emotional letter from somebody who seemed to know a surprising amount about me while remaining completely anonymous. They wrote things that have stayed with me ever since.

One thing they told me was that if I ever needed anything, they would be there for me, whether it meant “moving a chair or moving continents.”

I wish I had something more substantial to track them down with. I don’t. I’m posting this because perhaps, somehow, it reaches them, or somebody genuinely recognises the details.

If any of this genuinely sounds familiar, or if you know someone that can help, please DM me.

And just to save everyone some time: if your only response is going to be “it’s been seven years, let it go,” “they wanted to be anonymous,” “don’t look for them,” “they’ve probably moved on,” or “you’re wasting your time,” please don’t comment on this post.

I know it has been seven years. I know this person may have intended to remain anonymous. I have been thinking about those things for seven years.

I am still choosing to look for them.

I’m not asking anyone to expose somebody’s private information or harass them. I simply want to put this somewhere that might reach them. If they see this and still want to remain anonymous, that is their choice and I will respect it.

But if you’re still somewhere on this planet, Stygian:

I know you told me not to look for you. But you claimed to know me, so you probably also knew that eventually I would look for you, and wouldn’t rest till I found you. I just wish I had started sooner. I just wish I could find a way to tell you that I want you to write to me. One last time.

[GB] Has Temu been removed from the Gift Cards section?

A few months ago, I redeemed my RevPoints towards a Temu gift card. Today, I went to do the same but couldn’t find Temu in the RevPoints Gift card section. So, I want to know if anyone has Temu in their gift card section or am I the only unfortunate soul?

Urgent sale. Leaving Brighton in 48 hours. DM if interested

Hi everyone,

This is sort of a last resort. I’ve been eyeing these pearl earrings I found at Churchill square for my mum but I don’t have the money so I’m hoping to sell these.

Honestly, if no one needs the books I’m sure they can make use of the size 5 Hoka’s. I’ve literally worn them a total of 4 times but they’re a little too big for me.

I really really want to buy those earrings for my mum. She’s helped me a lot this year and unfortunately I spent whatever I had on purchasing a ticket to fly back home day after. So if anyone is interested at all. Please send me a message.

Thanks! x

Best hair salon/hairstylist in Islamabad for curly hair?

Hi everyone,

I am currently in Brighton, UK but I’m going back to Pakistan in a couple of days so I need to decide whether to get a haircut here before I leave or whether there are salons or hairstylists in Islamabad that cater to textured hair so I can get it there.

I have hair that ranges between 2a-3a so I need Someone who understands curly hair and different types of textured hair and doesn’t just slap on the same haircut or hairstyle onto everybody’s heads so any sort of help would be appreciated thank you so much
