I need canadian pet parents to help suggest a good vacuum pls thats not crazy expensive

Need one that sucks all the cat litter, cardboard bits and our/pet hair better and doesnt get clogged up so often. It just spills out all over while vacuuming or afterwards and we do unclog it and shit and its just makes keeping things tidy harder and this one I got off amazon for like $150 (powerfly cordless vacuum)

We have wood floors

So less than 200/300 CAD

We were recommended shark navigator but now not too sure! And there are several types

I am so much more overstimulated and annoyed pls help a gal out 🙏🏼 i already have so many big expenses now. I prefer cordless too but at this point I just want a strong reliable vacuum. Not a heavy one is helpful too!

Alternatives to metformin - digestion issues

I am waiting for the specialist till august. i had to stop metformin after several months cause it caused severe disgestion issues even on half a dose. Like i mean I sharted myself or almost didnt make it to the bathroom several times even when I cut back on the dose. but it helped immensely otherwise. im wondering if trying berberine would be similar or not? I think in the past I tried inisotol but it didnt seem to make a noticeable difference but I could try it again too

Metformin was helping with my regulation, energy and even some ADHD symptoms I've had so much challenges around...but sadly the side effects are too severe and now I dont even know if any other meds will be covered or even affordable

I have hEDS too, likely pots and histamine challenges too

Iso: sliding scale / low-cost experienced cleaner in South Surrey

We live with disabilities and are low income so please refrain from judgemental comments.

Hi everyone,

We’ve had quite a bit of buildup in our apartment recently due to temporarily caring for extra family cats on top of our own. Once they’re gone, we’re going to need a proper deep clean, as things have become quite overwhelming and my flare-ups have increased due to allergens and workload.

The space is about 700 sq ft and the main priorities would be the living area/kitchen and bedroom (and possibly the ensuite), with a focus on floors and reducing cat dander/allergens throughout.

We would need someone comfortable using primarily cat-safe products. We should have most supplies available, though we don’t currently have the best vacuum.

Ideally looking for someone who can do a thorough deep clean without it taking an excessive amount of time, as we’ve had a previous experience where a clean of one area alone took much longer than expected. Happy to send photos and more details when connected.

Please DM with info about you and rates thank you. Probably about 2-4 hours of work overall

Hi, we’ve looked through the subreddit, read online reviews and also asked the host of the VRBO condo that shares access to the resort, but we would love to hear more recent reviews. We saw some mixed feedback during our research, especially since we know it’s also a budget friendly family resort and host events.

What we’re looking for is a quieter, relaxed, low-key stay - no party zones, loud kids, or loud nightlife nearby or onsite. We don’t mind some activities or live music. Sometimes I feel like I’ve found a good option, but then I come across reviews saying it can be quite loud and/or outdated, with below-average food, or that a resort is located on a steep hill with a lot of stairs, which may not be feasible for me.

Food is also very important to us.

We are also planning to travel during Día de los Muertos!

If anyone has stayed at this resort recently, we’d really appreciate hearing what the overall vibe was like and how you experience was with food, room, cleanliness, service etc!

Hey everyone,

My partner and I are planning about a 10 night trip to the Puerto Vallarta / Riviera Nayarit / La Cruz area and are thinking of doing an all-inclusive, but we’re kind of stuck trying to find one that matches our needs. We are thinking either Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 (shoulder seasons)

We’re not looking for a party or loud children resorts at all - more just quiet, slow days, pool/beach, easy food, minimal planning. We don’t drink, so nightlife/entertainment isn’t a draw for us.

One thing that’s actually really important to us is nature/wildlife. Even just somewhere that feels less built-up, more green, where you might see birds or ocean life vs being in a super busy strip.

We’d also like the option to leave the resort once or twice for a day trip (PV, La Cruz, nearby towns), so ideally not somewhere that’s super isolated or hard to get in/out of.

Biggest concern is ending up somewhere loud or overcrowded, or where everything feels like a hassle (needing reservations for every meal, long waits, etc). I keep seeing reviews like that when I think Ive found a deal and it’s making it hard to tell what’s actually worth it.

Things that matter most to us:

quiet / chill atmosphere

connection to nature/wildlife (big priority)

easy access to variety of good food (not scheduling every meal)

good non-alcoholic options

pools + beach access or very close to beach

minimal stairs/hills if possible (heat + accessibility)

A/C

easy enough to get out for a couple day trips

Budget is around ~$5K CAD total for the stay if that’s realistic (flights included would be great but we also see prices have gone up alot... from YVR)

We're also open to spending a bit more if it actually makes the trip easier - like better food access, less crowding, quieter vibe, or something that feels more connected to nature. At the same time, we're totally fine with a simpler/more budget-friendly resort if it still checks the main boxes and lets us save money for a couple excursions or exploring nearby towns while we're there. Just trying to find that balance between value and not adding unnecessary stress.

Would love any recommendations for quieter all-inclusives in the area, or even just tips on what to look for / avoid when booking and best times /places to book especially as a canadian

Thanks!

Hey everyone

My partner and I are planning a ~10 night trip to the Puerto Vallarta / Riviera Nayarit / La Cruz area and would really appreciate some local advice on where to stay. I have already been burnt out by doing hours of research on some vrbo options and comparing to all inclusives - its hard to find somewhere that matches our needs and is affordable. Sometimes i will think Ive found a good option and then I see some reviews saying its super loud and/or outdated with bad food 😪 or situated on a big hill or have alot of stairs which isnt as feasible for me.

We are awaiting some recommendations from our agent for all inclusives but im still a bit worried. Wed also appreciate tips on like how to avoid the louder rooms /resorts and also like the resorts that get so busy or always require bookings for the restaurants!

We’ve noticed during our research that prices have really gone up (even in Mexico), so we’re trying to be realistic about budget as I am building a small business and on disability. We havent been away in years and really want to plan trip for a good lenght of time with good value since the cost is alot more now. Ideally we want to stay around or under $5K CAD total for the trip, but still figuring out what’s realistic.

We’re also still not 100% sure whether to plan everything ourselves (Airbnb/VRBO style) or go through a travel agent for an all-inclusive package, which tends to be higher budget but more “all handled.” We’re kind of weighing the tradeoff between cost vs ease, especially since we’re a bit worried that if we do everything ourselves we might actually end up spending more day-to-day without realizing it (AuDHD + convenience spending + decision fatigue on vacation).

Budget is roughly: \~$100 CAD/night ideal

up to about $170 CAD/night if it’s worth it

total trip budget \~ $5,000 CAD

What we’re looking for is a quiet, relaxed, low-key area - no party zones, clubs, or loud nightlife nearby. We’d really like somewhere with pools and either on the beach or very close walking distance to the beach.

If we do stay in a regular condo or Airbnb, it’s important to us that there is easy access to a variety of food and drinks on-site or very close by, so we’re not constantly having to go out or plan meals. We’re not looking to cook on vacation at all - ideally we want something simple like breakfast options, casual food, or pool/beach service so things feel easy and low effort.

Food convenience is a big one for us overall:

easy breakfast / casual food access

pool/beach service or nearby simple options

we don’t drink alcohol, so nightlife/bar scenes aren’t important - just easy access to non-alcoholic drinks and casual food would be ideal

ideally minimal planning, especially in the heat

Accessibility is also important (dynamic disabilities + heat sensitivity), so we’re looking for minimal hills, stairs, or steep walking where possible.

Our ideal trip is mostly slow, restful days with some nature and wildlife experiences (a big priority for us 🦎🐦). We’d likely do 1–2 day trips like the Malecón, La Cruz, or nearby Riviera Nayarit towns depending on where we stay, but overall it’s a mix of exploring and a lot of downtime.

We’re open to:

simpler places if it’s better value and location

slightly nicer stays if they reduce stress (especially around food/logistics)

either all-inclusive or Airbnb/VRBO — still trying to figure out what actually makes most sense for this area especially with reviews being all over the place a times or a mistmatch to the values the resort sells

Would really appreciate any insight on: best areas for our needs

quieter neighbourhoods or towns

pros/cons of all-inclusive vs Airbnb in PV/Riviera Nayarit

specific stays that match a slower, low-stress trip with pools + beach access and tips for our needs

Thanks so much 🙏

I’m deciding between these two, so please don’t suggest alternatives. I’d really appreciate input from people who have used both or switched and why. Not just “this one sucks or no explanation NO AI copy + paste lists - I want real experiences

What I need

Strong camera (photos + some video), mainly for dogs and nature (work-related)

Smooth, easy-to-navigate system (I use Google Drive + Google services a lot)

Better overall reliability with storage and performance

No overheating

My current situation / issues I’ve been having

I have a Samsung (S24) and it’s honestly felt worse than my old Pixel

I actually prefer my boyfriend’s Pixel 9 Pro camera/results but hes also having issues like the Pink line now ....

The Samsung + Google dual system sometimes is annoying

I’ve been having ongoing issues with storage and general system management even though I barely have photos/videos, my phone often says it’s full and sometimes I literally can’t use my camera. This is a big problem because I rely on it for work and social content. I don’t want these kinds of issues to continue even after upgrading storage

I will be getting 256GB for either, regardless

Things I like (Samsung side)

Samsung’s private screen feature (really useful for work + banking)

I think the S Pen would actually be helpful for notes during work sessions

Horizontal lock feature on Samsung (I take a lot of photos/videos of dogs during training sessions, so this actually matters a lot)

Fingerprint unlock for apps

Pixel concerns

I’ve heard the Pixel interface has been buggy lately and that worries me

I don’t want to deal with glitches or reliability issues

Not sure if it would actually solve my current frustrations or just replace them with different ones

I’m torn. I want something reliable, easy to manage, and good for camera + real-life work use (dogs, movement, quick shots). I also really need storage and performance not to interfere with actually using my camera

If you’ve used Samsung Ultra vs Pixel Pro (or switched between them), what made you stay?

What I need

Strong camera (photos + some video), mainly for dogs and nature (work-related)

Smooth, easy-to-navigate system (I use Google Drive + Google services a lot)

Better storage handling (I’ll be getting higher GB, but my current phone struggles)

No overheating

My current situation:

I have a Samsung (S24) and it’s honestly felt worse than my old Pixel

I actually prefer my boyfriend’s Pixel 9 Pro camera/results

The Samsung + Google dual system overwhelms me more than I expected

Storage has been a constant issue even though I barely have photos/videos, my phone keeps saying it’s full, and sometimes I literally can’t use my camera. This is a huge problem because I rely on it for work and social content. I don’t want this to be an ongoing issue even if I upgrade storage

Things I like about:

Some customization (organization, notifications, message colors, etc - not big on icons/themes)

Samsung’s private screen feature (really useful for work + banking)

I think the S pen will be helpful for notes during work sessions

Horizontal lock feature on Samsung (I take a lot of photos/videos of dogs during training sessions, so this actually matters a lot)

Fingerprint unlock for apps

Android features I love and dont want to lose

Back button

Clearing notifications easily

Better keyboard

Circle to search / Google image tools

Clipboard + notification controls

Things I don’t like about Android (Samsung specifically)

Storage management is frustrating

Apps (especially Messages) take up way too much space and are hard to manage

iPhone concerns

Haven’t had one since the XR and I remember getting really tired of iOS

I was happy when I switched away, so I’m hesitant to go back

Feels like more people switch from iPhone to Samsung, not the other way around

Other context

I do have a MacBook, but I mostly use Google so ecosystem isn’t a huge deal

I’ll be getting a higher storage option regardless

I’m torn. I want something reliable, easy to manage, and good for camera + real-life work use (dogs, movement, quick shots). I also really need storage to not interfere with actually using my camera
