Wheel caps

Does anyone have the P/N for the caps for the base alloys? 3.9L can't seem to find the number and the cap I ordered previously didn't actually fit even though it looked identical to the other ones.

Landing in Anchorage On the Puddle Jumper

Anyone ever get a front seat in a smaller aircraft? Was staying in Kenai for Salmon fishing for a week and had a lot of air travel but this was certainly the best seat I could get on any flight. Pilots were very cool and talked aviation with me for a few minutes before taking off. Nice landing too. Only had to do one lap in the hold pattern before final.

Finally caught a couple bass on the Z-Man Flashback.

I've been using the flashbacks for almost a year now and never had any luck until I went out to a local pond with my buddy here in AZ. I typically have the best luck on paddle tails or kastmasters but decided to switch it up this time. Also got to test the new travel rod setup (orange combo in picture 3) and it handled those bass very well for being light power with a 1000 reel. Anyone else have luck with the flashback lures?

3.9 oil pan gasket replacement price?

I believe my oil pan gasket (or one of the main seals) is the cause of my slight oil leak, and I've read that you have to lift the engine up to get to it on the 3.9 which I am unable to do from home as I don't have a lift or engine hoist available.

My question is has anyone taken their Dak to the shop to have this done? How much did it cost? If they're doing the oil pan gasket is it worth having them also do the main seals front and back as well even if they aren't leaking? Truck is an 01 3.9 with 119k miles.

Finally got the new Nexave FJ

Got this reel to pair with the euro market STC AX tele rod (second picture, still waiting for delivery) it's pretty nice, feels smoother than the previous generation Nexave FI, which I have 3 of in different sizes. Should be good for throwing light Lures (3-14g)

What top boxes do y'all have?

Right now I have my doordash box as my top box and it looks horrible and isn't very secure. I'd like to get a top box that will mount to my factory Suzuki racks like the factory side panniers do. Any ideas? I've seen the factory top boxes for sale on Oneida Suzukis website but unsure how they look or if they'll fit a helmet.

Mineral Moon Composite Processing - Help Needed

Hello all, I am in the process of editing a mineral moon composite in GIMP, and I'm trying to deal with an annoying color artifact, I believe to be from the stitching program (Microsoft ICE). Here is the image in question (ignore the green tint). If you look at the bottom of the sea of serenity, you'll see said patch of magenta that I just can't seem to get rid of. I am not super knowledgeable when it comes to GIMP, so if anyone has an idea of how to fix this so I can move on with the other color adjustments, that would be awesome.

Thank you.

Alright no more fork seals for a while! Lol

Bike was all original 07 with 10k miles and noticed the dust seals were cracked but not leaking, so I installed the all balls seals and figured the oil was probably old and dirty too, sure enough it was. Filled em up with motul factory line 10w and the front definitely feels more compliant. Also digging the anakee 3 tires on the road so far, won't be trying offroad until I get crash bars and a skid plate. Definitely a time capsule bike!

Sportier tire options?

I've had a set of GPR300s on my pointy for the last year or so, they lasted a little over 5k miles and about time to replace them. I was looking at the Michelin 2CTs but hear they wear quickly. Now that I have the vstrom this will just be my fun toy and I live in AZ so no worries about rain or snow. What are yall running on your SVs? I'd prefer Michelin but would also go for Dunlops.

Crooked front end?

My new to me 07 wee with 10k miles appears to have a slightly tweaked front end, didn't notice on the ride home from the purchase but the bike drifts to the right when I ride straight up. One of the previous owners had installed lowering links and raised the fork tubes in the triple clamp but returned it to stock settings before I bought it so I'm assuming they just didn't reinstall the front end properly. I checked the rear axle and that was straight.

What front stand do I need?

I have the typical front and rear stands for my SV650 from cyclegear, but the front stand isn't tall enough to lift the Vstroms front wheel off the ground, what stand do you guys have to get the front wheel up for fork maintenance?

Some of you may recognize me, but I finally did it.

I was able to sell my XT225 and saved a little more cash to get this '07 650 with only 10k miles. Should be a good work horse for me for many years.

There are some wear items to replace like chain and tires, but everything checked out, and yes, I will be adding some farkles after a new set of tires and chain.

So close, yet so far...

He always likes to poop by my door when I let him out to roam, so I've been putting potty pads there, sometimes he gets it right, sometimes he doesn't... Exhibit A 😂

Radiator Fan Switch Swap

I've seen some old posts about a lower temp fan switch for out bikes. I decided to test out an SV1000 fan switch with a temp of around 208°F (98°C) and turns out it fits the 650 radiator and works flawlessly. I can provide an unaffiliated link in the comments for anyone who wants to get one. I did this because as some of you know, I do food delivery on this bike and in the AZ summer sitting in traffic the original fan switch wouldn't kick on until 217°F which was cooking my legs and battery.
