Have you heard of any international resources to help people relocate (maybe detox?) and potentially sue psychiatric institutions for malpractice? (I live in the US)

I’ve been in and out of psych wards for over a decade now. These fuckers have nearly ruined my life with psych meds while presenting that it was all my fault. I don’t have a job or means of transportation, no school. I get disability to live in the group home I live in, been here a year and I’ve gained 100 pounds.

I have family here, but honestly, they are a big reason why I was introduced to psychiatry in the first place, my sister was the one to first commit me, instead of talking it through with me and maybe finding a practical solution. I love them, but if I were to choose them or me, I choose me.

I’m sure a lot of people ask these sorts of questions. I wish we could all get of out of this hell together

What are your favorite college football stadium environments you’ve ever been a part of?

I grew up a Boise state fan, I live in Idaho. My Dad just told me a cool story about him being at a bronco game this past fall. They were playing a Mountain West game, though he noticed a hand full of fans in Kansas Jayhawks gear a couple rows back from him. He ended up approaching them and asked what brought them to Boise. They said they had made a tradition the past 13 Cfb seasons they would visit some notable places to watch football (I’m guessing bsu for the blue field).

They didn’t really say which other venues, or at least my dad couldn’t say which ones, but it got me thinking, what are your favorite venues to watch college ball? I’ve been thinking of doing something similar to those Jayhawks fans, just pick a matchup anywhere in the country once a year and go watch the game, I’d love to do it with my dad especially, and maybe other friends and family members

I’d like to do this for each conference, doesn’t matter if it’s a small school, hopefully just a solid game atmosphere

Is anyone here experienced in forming a renters union?

I live in a group home in the US, it’s a state subsidized assisted living facility for people with mental illnesses. While nobody here’s symptoms go unmanaged, I see there are many things that simply need a large improvement for the health of our residents.

One of the things that is included in our rental agreement is we are provided 3 meals a day. While it’s a good thing that we get some sustenance, we are being fed very processed foods. One of the staff members pointed out the frozen waffles we have every few weeks states on the nutrition label these products may cause cancer.

More than half of the 12 residents, including myself, are obese (I have gained 100 pounds in just over a year). I suspect these foods are exasperating both physical and mental illnesses.

I think this is a good place to start, and there are many other things about these group homes that need much improvement. I’ve been here just over a year, earlier on in my stay, an ombudsman was present to take complaints, so I think I could bring up these issues to them as well.

Are there any rights that you know of here in the US that I should help advocate for, as far as government rental housing? Thank you

Is there any way, in the United States, to be approved for gender affirmation surgery without taking hormones beforehand?

Amab here, I have taken estradiol/spiro and tolerated them well, I just had to quit for personal reasons.. I would have had bottom surgery in last January, if I had stuck to my hormone regimen. Anyways, is there anyway to proceed with bottom surgery without going through the hrt first, here in the USA? Do you think like planned parenthood could help with something like this?

Btw: clarification, *im not asking for any medical advice*

Honest Question: Why is the democratic party in the us considered more “left” than republican party in the first place?

The only reason I can think of why this is sort of the default public assumption in america is liberals have made an art form of paying lip service to social issues (Institutional racism, income inequality, climate change ect) and sneakily, back handedly do the exact opposite.

The republicans are definitely more upfront about their intentions, except they throw in a little trickle down economics bs to their base. Obviously not to their credit. Both parties are infinitely fuckin evil, and supporting either is for suckers.

Anyways, is there any difference that people should be conscious about? To me, they’re just both wings of the same Warhawk

In the United States, for the most part, is it pointless to vote, unless you have a Green Party, PSL, Peace and Freedom, or maybe DSA?

I can’t see myself ever voting for a democrat/republican ever again. I don’t believe in voting for “harm reduction” as both parties are infinitely corrupt war mongers that don’t give two shits about civilians around the world.

Even then voting is the most basic political activity you can do, you have to be committed to do honest to god organizing if you ever want to change anything. I admittedly am limited, as I have a disability along with severe mental illness, I’ll just say I do what I can with what I have..

Anyways, is there even any point in showing up at federal polls? I could see local politics would be a good start

Edit: Wow. Pretty sure if you asked someone in Palestine if they would prefer Kamala or Trump, they’d ask you what the fuck are you talking about

Question about college to pro compatibility…

Like college football and madden from ea, can you do a super star mode or draft/recruiting class from college to pros? So like college hoops 2k8 to nba 2k8, or college basketball 10 to nba live 10?

NCAA 11 road to glory..

I remember this edition having one of the better rtg… does anyone remember all the positions you could play? I remember playing strong safety and loving it, though it could have been a different edition.. I hope the newer games eventually catch up and add the most positions yet

Does anyone know a prebuilt pc that would be able to handle cfb 27? (In USA)

The minimum and recommended specs are on steam. I’m kinda new to pc gaming, haven’t had a pc since I was 10 and it’s been consoles ever since. Anyways, back to pc, im not confident that I can build my own, so something prebuilt would have to do. Wondering if anyone here has one that can handle 27 or is looking to buy a prebuilt that will work

Edit: wondering if I should just get a steam machine and wait for it to go on sale. It seams like it will be around the same price or less. I just worry it’ll be like a console that you’ll keep on having to upgrade every 5 or 6 years though

It’s been some time since I watched the HBO documentary about George, if I remember correctly…

Didn’t they completely omit his last special It’s Bad For Ya? In my opinion, the final 20 minutes is the most on point as he ever was, and I do love the totality of his work as it was. His rants on American bullshit, the waste of life and time of war, and his stance on rights in that final 20 minutes is a hell of a send off.

Edit: I believe it was even too real for hbo to even touch

How do you suppose they coordinated the music video for Coyotes?

I think it’s one of mm’s interesting and curious music videos they have, as I have no idea how it was made with one coyote, no people, and the coyote doing very specific things like riding the tram

Bariatric surgery for someone that doesn’t want to share this with others

(This may look like a bot account with such few upvotes, but I’ve been off and on Reddit for 7 years)

I’ve gone through the Bariatric process before, though with outside pressure and pre existing mental illness, I didn’t make it past the psych evaluation.

This time around, im living in a supportive place, my mental health is well managed, I may not tell my family and friends this time just my housemates and my care team.

Has anyone else tried to do the Bariatric process kind of on the down low like this? What is your experience?

Edit: male 5 9 325 pounds
