Everyone severely overreacted about the Mitchum Huntsberger situation

I feel like this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but everyone in the show severely overreacted to Mitchum Huntsberger telling Rory she didn’t “have it” in journalism.

I understand Rory’s initial shock. I mean he was a shark in the journalism business so of course it hurt when he told her she was unqualified. But everyone in the show is acting as if he did some terrible thing. People act as if he harassed her, bullied her, embarrassed her or something. But I think that he was actually polite and honest.

And what’s more, I think he was right. She didn’t have it. The second Rory was criticized, she threw a fit and got herself thrown in jail and dropped out of school for a whole semester. The real world is tough, people will criticize you. And instead of using Mitchums words to fuel herself and try to get better and change his mind, she kind of fell into this whole “I am a victim” mindset.

Although he did it out of pity and to compensate for his family’s rudeness, he did give her a genuine shot.

I’m curious to see what other people think of this

Customer threw their drink on me today

Where has all the human decency gone ? So I work at the front desk of this recreational center that’s open 24-7. This woman walks in late at night wanting to access our facilities and I say no. Why you may ask ? Well first of all, she was intoxicated, heavily. And the last time she’d had access to our building, she was kicked out for harassing and berating other customers and staff members, and doing drugs in the bathroom. Plus, she had a huge bottle of vodka mixed with god knows what in her hands.

So I say no. And I try to be polite, I try to explain nicely because you know what? I have sympathy for the woman, she’s clearly going through it. But she immediately starts yelling, calling me names and throws her drink right at me. And also take the random pizza slice she has in her hand and manages to smack it in my face. I called the cops and she was escorted out.

Worst part ? I’m not suprised. Of course you don’t get slapped with a pizza everyday. But I constantly get insulted for no reason. You forgot your keycard and now you can’t come in ? I’m the incompetent one. Your membership doesn’t include the upstairs spa/massage section? I’m a heartless bitch for not letting you access it anyways. The pool is closed for maintenance? Somehow the inconvenience of that is my personal fault.

It’s like people forget that you’re just a person doing your damn job. And they think that anything is a reason to insult you.

I hate people. Really. What goes on in their minds

Question about submitting through GEM

So when you email GEM you receive an automatic email with the current casting calls. On the automated email you can see that the HYBE GEFFEN audition has been extended on GEM until sept 15 (although it’s been closed on the official HYBE website). You can also see the other casting calls such as “Netflix untitled acc/HYBE project”. From other comments, I understand that you simply need to email them your material in order to audition.

But here’s my question: how will they know what you’re auditioning for ? Do you simply have to specify it in your email or is there something else I’m missing ?

I know this question has been asked a lot, but I already submitted through the official hybe website. So I’m not sure if submitting through gem would be considered a duplicate.

I don’t understand the Tom Scavo hate

This is my first time watching and I’m at season 2-3 so please be mindful to not spoil anything. But I just don’t get the Tom hate ? I mean sure, he’s a childish and immature husband, but he’s still the best one on the show.

I mean first we’ve got Karl who cheated on Susan god knows how many times and doesn’t seem to show any remorse. Which is not only bad for Susan but also for Julie.

Then there’s Mike who doesn’t really count as he’s still just a boyfriend and not in the husband category. But still he did lie about quite a few things

Then there’s Carlos who was borderline abusive with Gaby in season one. The whole “if he wants to grab your ass then let him grab your ass” thing in episode 1 season 1 is just weird, then he forced her to sign documents and bruised her wrist AND messed with her birth control and basically forced her to become pregnant. Which is litterally assault, maybe even a form of SA ?

Then there’s Rex who also cheated and was disrespectful to Bree. But he wasn’t the worse either

Then there was the damn pharmacist Bree was engaged too, do I even need to explain this one ?

Granted, Tom is a manchild and has severe confidence issues that he constantly takes out on Lynette because he can’t man up and deal with his emotions. But he’s faithful, he’s not violent, he’s honest (ish-but when it matters) and he respects Lynette’s space AND he shows up for his kids. Dare I even say that he works with Lynette as a team when it comes to parenting. I mean He never would’ve pulled the birth control thing on her.

Maybe I’m wrong, I’m still only beginning season 3. But they just seem like the most ordinary couple to me

How to get rid of cat hair on clothes/in the apartment ?

So my boyfriend and I just adopted a cat (white domestic longhair I think ? The vet wasn’t sure) and he has an insane amount of fur. I just can’t with it anymore. It’s everywhere. I’ve bought like a dozen of lint rollers in the past few months, and I have to pass it on my clothes everyday multiple times a day.

The hair is on the floor (little white clumps), on the bed, on the couch, on our clothes, even on the countertops and the oven?? My main problem is that even when I do the laundry and the clothes are fresh out the dryer, there’s still fur, but not as much.

We try to brush him everyday but the cat hates it so I’m looking into buying a glove. But I’m wondering if anyone here knows how to reduce the hairs on the clothing ? Is there something I can put in the washing machine to help ?

Also since my cat hates being brushed with the regular cat brush, can someone here reccomend something else ?

Is it normal for my eyes to burn while I get my lash extensions done ?

I apologize if I’m not posting this at the right place.

Basically I got lash extensions for the first time a few months ago. I noticed when getting them done that my right eye was burning during the appointment (not painful to the point where I had to ask my tech to stop, but still uncomfortable) and then my eye was quite red after for a few hours. Since then, I’ve gone for refills about three times and my eyes burn every single time (both eyes now not just the right one). Last week it got to the point where I almost had to ask my tech to stop because i couldn’t endure it. I’m sure some of this is due to the fumes from the glue, which I’m guessing is normal to some extent ?

I guess what I’m asking is if this happens to other people ? Because I’ve always heard women say that getting their lashes done is so relaxing and they even take naps, but this really isn’t relaxing for me as it hurts.

Idk if these things are relevant to mention, but in case anyone asks:

  1. I’ve had the same technician since the beginning
  2. I get the normal “classic” lashes (not the big bulky ones)
  3. My eyes are usually red for a few hours to a day after the appointment but they’re not swollen or painful
  4. The pain I feel is only during the application/refills
  5. I keep my eyes closed during the appointment

So, is this normal? do I just have sensitive eyes ?
