have no idea what’s wrong with my singing. Can you help me figure it out?

Ok so I’m a gcse music student and to be honest I’m really struggling, I was one mark away from a pass in my singing mock and music is my worst subject. I ended up with a grade 5 but I’m aiming for minimum grade 7 overall. I really love music and singing but ever since I been taking it in school I realized I’m not good at all. So overall I would really appreciate any constructive honest criticism.

Thank you so much in advance!

My Interpretation of Riya’s Psychology

I’ve seen a lot of people dismiss Riya as “just evil,” but I honestly think they’re missing what the writers were trying to do with her character. Personally, I think she has Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I know some people will immediately say, “You can’t diagnose a fictional character,” and technically they’re right, but when you’ve spent as much time analysing her scenes as I have, I think the patterns become pretty obvious.

One thing that really stood out to me was in Episode 12, when Emily is explaining the rules of the challenge. It’s such a small moment that almost everyone ignores, but if you watch Riya closely, she blinks at a very specific point. Most people would probably say she’s just blinking because, well, people blink. I don’t buy that for a second. The timing feels far too deliberate to me. Emily is explaining the challenge, which means Riya is processing another situation where her image, her control and ultimately her chances of winning are all at stake. That blink isn’t just a blink—it’s a tiny crack in the mask she’s trying so hard to maintain. It’s almost like, for just a split second, she’s confronted with the pressure she’s under before immediately pulling herself back together again. Moments like that are what make me think there’s so much more going on beneath the surface than people give the writers credit for.

What really convinced me wasn’t just that she manipulates people, because lots of villains do that. It’s the way everything she does seems centred around protecting this image of herself that she’s created. She constantly needs to prove she’s the smartest person in the room, she’s terrified of appearing weak, and whenever someone challenges her ego she almost always responds by trying to regain control instead of reflecting on what happened. Even when she hurts people who genuinely care about her, it often feels like maintaining her own sense of superiority matters more than the relationship itself.

I actually cried during the finale, which I know sounds ridiculous because she’s fictional, but I genuinely felt sorry for her. Most people watched it and saw a villain getting exactly what she deserved. I watched it and saw someone who had become so obsessed with winning and protecting this perfect version of herself that she ended up with absolutely nothing meaningful left. She achieved everything she’d spent the whole series chasing, yet she was completely alone by the end. To me, that’s one of the saddest endings in the entire show because she wins the game while simultaneously losing every relationship that could have made winning worthwhile.

I think that’s why Riya is such an interesting character. People either love her or hate her, but I don’t think enough people stop to think about why she behaves the way she does. Every betrayal, every manipulation and every calculated decision feels like it’s coming from someone who’s desperately trying to maintain control over how other people see her. Whether the writers intentionally wrote her with Narcissistic Personality Disorder in mind or not, I think there’s enough evidence throughout the series to make that interpretation worthwhile.

Thanks for reading this (it took me like 1.5 hours) and maybe yall will stop hating Riya!!!

Why is Logan Bell so disliked?

I’m relatively new to the this sub and to the show, but why don’t most people like him? I finished DC4 a few days ago and thought he was the best written winner so far (not seen FVF yet). Sure, maybe some of his plots were a bit strange but I thought Spencer was a much worse character than Logan and is Spencer‘s annoying character a reason for his hate?
