how is something like this Ryobi glue gun casing modelled?
ultralight setup: Daiwa Exceler with dogshit $12 AliExpress rod
my reasoning is I'd probably break a rod but not a reel and the 4 piece on AliExpress was cheaper (the rod kind of rattles but for the price I'll live with it)
I did however accidentally pick a 10lb braid so I only have like 110 yards with the leader.
Intended use is backpacking alpine lakes
not me but noticed someone planted a fig in my local park
looking forward to the fruit in 5 years
is my trees curved stem a problem?
on another note this was originally a central leader tree but it got snapped off and it's kind of regrowing so I don't know what shape to put it in
2am instant noodles cooked on a mouspad and hiking stove
would you pick fennel next to a roadway?
it's like 10 meters away from the road but I'm tempted to try it

thoughts about 2500 Daiwa regal on UL rod
I got this cheap AliExpress UL Rod because I'll be going backpacking and I was thinking of just reusing my 2500 reel on it.
However, my research said that my experience will be worse and I should probably get a dedicated 1000 size reel. Is it notably worse? will I actually run into any issues?
Thoughts?
- get a ~$80 reel like a regal or revros 1000
- get a budget reel like strikeforce 1000
- save money and stick with my 2500
I'm not really a "connoisseur" by any means, my most expensive piece of gear is the Daiwa regal. In other words, not really an expert on fishing gear.
suggested repair methods for this shoe?
it's just a hiking shoe/boot. I use it as a daily shoe because of good ankle support.
most of my old shoes have this hole so I figure I'll try fixing it this time.
Not sure what model or brand it is, size 8 not that it matters.
how the fuck are people getting co-ops?
I am essentially stuck; I've taken all the courses I need but I cannot graduate until I finish a capstone. I am not allowed to start a capstone before 3 co-op terms.
I have projects, but no experience so I cannot compete with anybody for jobs; every application asks you how many previous co-ops you have completed. Most people I talked to said they just AI to write the cover letters.
I think it just comes down to getting lucky, as my friend who also has no experience needed around 200 applications to get a co-op.
I wish they gave the option to remove the "co-op" designation from your degree in exchange for bypassing this requirement. The job market is bad, and they should re-consider this requirement.
Looking for alpine fishing lake hikes where my car won't get destroyed
I've been researching a good place to go backpacking with the following:
- good view
- normal SUV accessible
- lake with fishing potential
- high elevation gain (to deter crowds)
- car won't get broken into (chilliwack)
- bonus points for proximity to vancouver (optional)
So far, the best candidate I've found was Deeks & Brunswick Lake. I'm not sure if this is true, but my research says:
- safe parking options (paid or elementary school)
- mediocre fishing (idk if Brunswick has any fish)
- very crowded in July - August
Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
