Seems like the Laziest Royal Guard has stepped in once again during one of these repeating cycles of fighting between human and human.
Sans might have a Phase 2 where his armor breaks and stops the final slash that would've originally killed him. Maybe that's where I'll have Chara join back in.

You might be wondering why the normal form has fire as well.
They can use weaker fire attacks without having to charge it up, but "Fire Mode" is where they depend fully on their fire and for a short period of time, their mind is so focused on the fire magic that it becomes stronger.
