Please don’t tell me to stop testing. I haven’t tested in over a week :)
I am 5wk+6 days and did a test this morning with first morning urine (top test), I noticed the line was lighter than previous tests as I had gotten dye stealers. I heard about the hook effect and diluting your wee down, so I added some water to my urine and then retested and got a dye stealer (bottom test). I am awaiting my blood results to come back but the lab have lost them at the moment 🙄
I am 5w+4 days and wondered when it would be best to tell my manager I’m pregnant. I have to go into the office once a week but I am finding at the moment I am so exhausted and whenever I commute I get stomach cramps, I also have started to feel fairly nauseous and wonder whether it’s worth telling work soon so that I can take time off if needed. The policy on my department is that if you ever need sick leave because of pregnancy related reasons, it doesn’t go on your record. Also, it might be beneficial to work from home during the first trimester. My only difficulty at the moment is I’ve just got a promotion on the team and start in a few weeks however, it shouldn’t really effect anything as I’m still entitled to maternity leave. Also, if I request is my manager allowed to keep it a secret? Some advice please :)

I am 4 weeks + 3 days today and wondered when your morning sickness set in and until when? Or if you didn’t get any sickness that would be good to know! Thank you :)

Long story short, I’m a content creator and I hired an accountant to do my tax return for me in 2023/2024. During that time, I earned over the VAT registered threshold but by the time I had got round to filing it, my income had significantly dropped by double meaning I was no longer overt the threshold. Since then, my income has got less and less.
At the time, my accountant informed me that I did not need to register for VAT but that I may need to in future if I continued to earn over the same amount. He did not inform me about applying for exception.
I am now panicking as I received a letter from HMRC saying that I should be VAT registered. I have got the relevant forms and completed them but am worried I will face penalties or have to pay the VAT anyway because I didn’t notify at the time. I was not aware and honestly I’m really annoyed my accountant did not advise me about this, what was the point in instructing one? Not only that, it is likely to be £19k plus and I do not have that money. I’m really stressed out about this. Can anyone advise please
