Detergent scam (?)

A homeless woman just asked me to buy her some washing detergent as she had suitcases full of washing.

I thought why not, I can afford it at the moment. A woman stopped me on the way and said she’d just done the same.

When I went to the shop, the man said it was the 3rd one she’d had bought for her.

I knew from the get go she would sell it on, to be frank I’m not bothered, I’m of the opinion that anyone who’s asking for stuff on the street, no matter what for, is worse off than myself, and if I can afford it, I’ll try to help folk out.

My question is, where are they selling it onto? And who to? And how? And for how much?

A British dream

It’s always been my dream to travel as much of Northern America as possible by hitchhiking / camping / hiking

But I’m a 30y/o British woman

I love a semi nomadic lifestyle and have coach surfed for 2 years in England but have so many friends here so I was never actually sleeping on the streets

I really love America and it’s people and I get quite bored of life here and think it would be a huge adventure to say fuck it and do it

But am I being unrealistic with this dream? Is it too unsafe as a young woman to do this there?

Thanks

Consent/ safety monitors

I am hoping to do a facilitation training in London this year.

I have been involved with a few circles at festivals with regards to consent and a few folk have said I should facilitate, but I don’t have any training.

I’m asking on here because I know there are monitors etc at FOLD, and wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction to get trained in London?

There’s loads after a google search but I’d like a personal recommendation.

Thanks!

35mm film in BCN?

Hello! Looking for cheapest 35mm film here. I just went into a little independent place and it was €20 for a roll, maybe that’s normal here? I pay £12 a roll in London.

Thank you!!

Help fining specific cemetery in Italy?

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone can help me and my best mate.

Her father died and he was from Gallarate outside of Milan.

His ashes were taken back there, specifically to Fagnano Olona and her remaining family members won’t tell her where (it’s an awful situation) and she’s desperate to visit.

She’s a wonderful but hurt soul, and I want to try and help her - the only information she has is that there is a statue with a horse with a boy on top of it, from what she remembers, inside the cemetery.

Can anyone help her? Or help us find someone who can?

Thank you so much

Thrift shopping in Lisbon

I’m about to head to volunteer at a festival here for 6 weeks and I really have not brought enough clothes

I only buy second hand, the vintage shops in town today were a bit too expensive and fancy

Anyone have any recommendations for larger scale thrift shops that are reasonably priced? I’m near Oriente

Thanks!

Social anxiety causing me to be rude

Anyone else here with social anxiety?

I’m mostly pretty good with it and have learnt how to manage my anxiety. However sometimes I find myself to be rude without wanting to be and it sends me into a further spiral.

For example: I just went to visit friends in a different country. Had such a lovely time and their grandparents had us all round for dinner both evenings and were so hospitable. (It’s worth noting they all speak a language i cannot but I tried here and there).

The grandfather picked some of us up in the car and never replied to me saying hello - pretty much ignored me the entire time and seemed pissed off that he had to pick me up.

But whatever, he’s an old guy who doesn’t speak my language it’s no big deal. He didn’t interact the whole trip. Again fine, but he didn’t pick up the bill which I thanked him for.

Last day I leave early - day bye to everyone but got so anxious about saying bye to him that I just… didn’t ?

And now I’m spiraling so much about how rude it was of me to not say bye because of his hospitality, but I was imagining waking up to him and him blanking me and it all being a bit much…

Anyway, I find myself in these positions sometimes where if I feel uncomfortable around someone I won’t interact and I think that is a bit rude, then I end up overthinking after and going in a loop of ‘everyone thinks I’m rude’ etc etc

I’m wondering if there is any advice from people who also find themselves in these positions? Am I overthinking ?

Ahhhhhh

Speaking to a human with whizz air

Whizz air have denied my baggage I’ve just bought (20kg) and I cannot for the life of me get hold of a human being to find out why

They haven’t refunded me yet, my flight is next week and I can’t get on the flight if I can’t take my baggage - I’m going away for 2 months

The virtual assistance isn’t picking up my question

Has anyone had this happen before? How can I speak to a human?
Thank you
