Mercer K520 otw to get Buddy upright and refueled a bit. after i smoke tho so i dont get annoyed 🤣
love the way this thing looks. it’s also doing great for me rn in Mexico🫡 will prob be repurposed after the water delivery though
how do yall use the Phoenix? or do you like the Tatra Defense more
love this region with a bit of hate sprinkled in. it’s fun, above pleasant environment to look at & be in; but the terrain can be annoying (at least it was more annoying until now, i’ve gotten the main road system on the 1st map reconstructed). lots of uneven terrain and rocks/big rocks, which isn’t a bad thing at all but can get annoying at times between damaging your truck or putting you at some not so good angles. putting the road back together was fun though and i believe i’ve only got one work-site left on the 1st map to do. as for the 2nd map, i haven’t really been on it much other than doing a long log run w the KW C500, which wasn’t all that bad. really enjoying the Bilbert, it’s got tons of speed and even though everyone says it’s super tippy and hard to handle; i’ve yet to tip it and i’ve actually handled it v well (i play racing games a lot so maybe that helps lol)
anyway, js wanted to share these pics cause i think they look good and it gives me an excuse to talk ab the “new” season 😃 also, what trucks are yall using for this region? not sure what all i wanna use.
also some pics of the FLD hauling the movie star trailer around. enjoyed the bit of Mexico that i did explore yesterday though! task seem like they might get annoying but i think i js need to figure out the best order to do them in lol
Although Scandinavia isn’t hard; these trucks are workhorses for me as of now. The GMC has only had to be “rescued” aka pulled from some mud while hauling two cabins and planks. other than that, it’s pulled only heavy 5-6 slot loads and it’s performed v well. Just about the same for the WS trucks too; they haven’t gotten stuck at all and i haven’t taken them on the the “best routes/most efficient routes”. More specifically praising the WS NF1430 because although it doesn’t have diff-lock, it still performs pretty damn well in moderately deep mud/snow; even while carrying loads (which I’ve settled on having it be a medium log runner). The WS NF 1424 is just all around good. decent speed, good power, decent fuel economy (imo), a very reliable crane+low saddle hauler and the ability to toggle awd & diff-lock on & off is nice. Also obviously the roof rack is a huge plus to it as well. Anyways, just wanted to appreciate these trucks, even though i’ve seen them be mentioned on here before 🤷🏻
also if anyone has any suggestions on what to use the Mack TerraPro for, lmk. love the way it looks but have only heard bad about it for the most part unfortunately 😭
was on last night and decided i will try getting the metal beams to the landslide before getting off. well i was barely holding my eyes open and then they were closed for a second and when i opened them i was rolling into the ditch 🤣
i’m putting the GMC to WORK. also finally got into mod trailers and i’m enjoying them pretty well. really like having different style trailers along w some more variation in sizes of them.
anyone have any experience from this region to share? would appreciate it if so, js started it & it’s my first snow map as well.
also any opinions on the color scheme? does it look appropriate for the region?
edit : thank yall for confirming that Scandinavia will be chill🫡
after finishing Taymyr (finished for *MY current STANDARDS*, it’s at 75% rn but the last few missions i have left i don’t feel like doing, so i’ll come back to do challenges and finish the region in general at some point.so i js wanna show what all i used to complete most of the task’s and contracts 👍🏼
MB Actros : sideboard+crane, strictly 2 slot hauler
Voron AE-4380 : sideboard+crane, strictly 2 slot hauler
Voron Grad : low saddle+crane, strictly a semi trailer hauler
Tayga 6436 : low saddle+crane, strictly a semi trailer hauler
Kolob 74760 : high saddle truck, semi trailer hauler or deep mud recovery if needed
Step 310E : articulated towing platform, scout hauler and vehicle recovery
Dan 96320 : crane truck that also used the multipurpose cargo module, used for recovery and mobile repairs
Boar 45318 : seismic vibrator module + long log hauler
Azov Atom : log crane+fuel tank, used strictly as a long log support vehicle that traveled with long log loads
TUZ 420 : scout, self explanatory
ZiKZ 566A : fuel tank add-on, occasionally pulled a trailer to destination or served as a mobile fuel station, but mostly scouted
ZiKZ 5368 : sideboard+crane, used as a scout or if a single cargo slot was needed
MB Zetros : log crane+low saddle, strictly a double medium log trailer hauler
Pacific P12 : medium log add-on or long log front carrier piece, used strictly as a medium or long log hauler
edit: thinking Scandinavia next, but also Ontario
6 medium logs all going to the farm for one of if not the last logging missions in Taymyr. Mercedes has double medium log semi trailer + winching a log trailer, and the p12 has a medium log add-on while towing a log trailer & winching another behind it. thankfully they all are going on a simple mostly paved route to the Farm but i’ll have to offload all of them into the p12 to get them into the farm
got the MB pack and immediately wanted to make the Zetros a medium log truck, idk why lmao but it performed solid. the Azov Atom is strictly a support truck for long log hauls (crane for any log spills and fuel being carried on it along w it being a large truck than can help pull if needed).have and will use the p12 for some medium logs on top of long logs, and it’s my only Western truck in Taymyr as my “import” truck for the region. over 50% done w Taymyr and its pretty nice so far, only complaint is the mud in Zimnegorsk is a bitch.
recovery of this was annoying but indeed successful. don’t know if i’ll use that gateway anymore 😂
*new to me*
this thing does not get stuck… the trailer might get caught up but the Kolob will get er going eventually 😅
if you swipe to the end you can see a short story of my new 4x4 heavy scout finding a broken Step Pike and then it being recovered and brought on to the fleet 👍🏼also the Tayga fucks
hit a bump trying to get around that evil, angled bridge and well… you see what happened. gonna smoke and come back to it with a plan🤣
caption is self explanatory 👍🏼 these were taken on my ps5
quality has been butchered between being screen recorded from the ps app & uploaded on reddit but hopefully my editing made the vid still somewhat decent to look at lol. but yeah, a calm lil cruise where i thought the environment looked good and my engined sounded good🤷🏻
it’s been a lot of me rescuing some trucks (the Tayga was mine to keep so i refurbished it into a fleet truck), stealing a maintenance trailer and opening up a “gas station”. the terrain isn’t bad so far and the environment/atmosphere is cool to drive around in👍🏼
gonna start my first Russian map and gonna use this to explore a bit. was wondering if anyone here had any tips for Taymyr😅 also, if anyone can suggest a better color to replace the green then i’m open to hear it lol
