I need to confess something

I deadass started doing calisthenics, learned martial arts like taekwondo and capoeira and started acrobatics because I thought it would give me a fighting style similar to James lee

Undeniable proof that James Lee's path works like this (scroll through the images)

The position and look of the opponent after being deflected looks the exact same just without the bright lights

Does anybody need ideas for their character's abilities in their power system? Because I'm ready to give some ideas.

But I need to know the power system, its restrictions, etc.

I've been trying to get better at reading my opponent's intentions instead of just reacting, I use this steps to do that any tips for optimization ?

This is what I've come up with:

I read their stance and body type (reach, height, weight distribution, etc.) to get an idea of what they're most likely to do.

I pay attention to range, since that immediately narrows down whether I'm expecting a kick, punch, clinch, or takedown.

I watch the shoulders while using my peripheral vision to catch early movement from the hands, hips, and feet.

I sometimes intentionally leave a small opening to bait a specific attack so I can better anticipate and counter it.

What do you guys think? Anything you'd add or change?

This just confirms that sunbae's movement is a footwork technique and as a MMA fighter, this looks really similar to a boxing "dash"

A deep dive on Gabryong Kim's fighting style from the lens of a trained mma fighter

Gabryong has a big muscular back which provides a strong foundation for all movements and improves athletic power, protects spine etc

However unlike what most people think his punching power comes from his strong core which you can see especially well at slide 3-5 he twists his hips to generate momentum and strength

After deep research into the overcome mastery do I think what he's doing is muscle fiber recruitment "recruiting more muscle fibers directly increases your strength. The nervous system controls how many fibers are engaged; while untrained individuals may only activate 70 - 85% of their fibers."

Whenever he uses overcome is he just recruiting 100% of his muscle fiber

Edit: He's a brawler and uses his body/strength to overwhelm opponents

The overcome mastery isn't a "power of friendship" power up and I explained why

First of all overcome doesn't give the user a external power up it just lets the user access more of their already existing strength in case you didn't know we don't use 100% of our strength because our brain limits our strength to preserve our energy and to avoid injuries

So your "Limit" while doing something isn't actually your limit it's just your brain telling you to stop, here comes the overcome mastery it let's you access more of your strength but like gap said to Jinrang it can and will lead to injuries if you overuse it which is realistic that's what would actually happen

You probably experienced the overcome mastery in real life too if you did any sport with people watching you or if you didn't do that imagine having a girlfriend and she and her whole family was watching you exercise if your "limit" was 30 push ups you're definitely going to do 40 or 50 push ups because you have the desire/need to do more which let's you access more of your existing strength

Gap did say that everybody had the potential for "superhuman strength" and he is right basically what I'm trying to say is that the overcome mastery isn't a power of friendship power up but a clever way of utilising your body

Guys I want to ask what y'all think about this character idea I want to know if it's too much

It's a action manwha and i want to keep it somewhat grounded to reality,i want to give the final boss a ability called "heaven's eye" (I haven't decided on the name yet so I'm open for suggestions) summed up his peripheral vision is so insane he can see and react to almost everything. Is this too outlandish for a somewhat grounded novel? There are cons for this ability too

Day 2: Cross-referencing Lookism characters BASE fighting styles with real-life martial arts.

Johan seong: His base is boxing however EOS would I say his base is kickboxing because he's highly skilled in taekwondo and boxing

I emphasized the word base because for example my base is kickboxing but I can still do takedowns and submissions. What I'm trying to say is just cuz a character has a base/specialty doesn't it mean he can't use other techniques

I want to be able to recognise body movement cues faster so that I can respond/predict it would shadowboxing in front of a mirror help

I want to shadowbox in front of a mirror because I will see my own cues so I would be able to see it on my opponents too.I was planning on doing that along with my normal MMA training
