Recommendations for dermatologists in Philly to help with sagging skin after Predinisone moon face? [Miscellaneous]

Has anyone dealt with sagging skin after moon face went down? 28-F, I used to be slim before being on prednisone for about 5 months 40 mg a day (135 lb - 5’9”). While on prednisone I gained about 20 pounds and my face blew up. I have been off it for about 10 months now and my face has gone down significantly but I am experiencing a lot of sagging skin on my face, jaw and neck and it’s making super self conscious :(

I’m discussing possible options with my dermatologist who recommended I saw a dermatologist specializing in “cosmetic” issues but her recommendations didn’t resonate with me after reading patients reviews, so I’m looking for recommendations for good dermatologists in the Philly area that could help me address my sagging skin.

If anyone has dealt with something similar, I would love to hear your experience and what helped your skin’s elasticity.

Thank you!

Brave as a main browser in frame tv?

Hi,
I use the brave browser on my phone and was wondering if anyone here has found a way to use Brave on their tv other than searching for brave on google? They don’t have the Brave app available in their App Store and I was wondering if there’s a way to do it. I have the 2025 model.

Thanks!

IVIG Journal Recommendations?

Hi, I’m new to IVIG infusions and I heard that it’s a good idea to keep a journal. I’ll have my second infusion in about 2 weeks and I was hoping to start documenting my infusions, side effects etc.

Any journals you love? Why do you like them? Your recommendations will be very helpful

Thank you!

Anyone else have experienced the feeling of going crazy?

My SFN is inmune mediated which means I have periods were I feel better and flares were I feel worst. The “good periods” some times last a couple of days and I start to doubt if this is even happening. It does matter that I have been dealing with this for almost 2 years now. Every time I feel better, I get the feeling that I must have over reacted and maybe “it’s not as bad” or maybe “I’m improving, or getting better”. However, every single time I have a relapse I get this sense of depression all over again, like a have to accept once again that this miserable reality it’s actually real, and it takes a lot from me to accept that again. I guess what I’m trying to say is that every time I have a few days where I don’t feel as bad I question my own sanity and I was wondering if this happens to someone else, because I’m scared of being actually loosing my mind due to the prolonged stress.

Just got approved for IVIG

I have been struggling with SFN for the past 22 months. After being diagnosed I pretty much lost my entire life, the symptoms disrupted every single area of my life and it has been extremely hard.

My SFN seems to be inmune mediated. I responded well to prednisone for a few months but had to discontinue due to the terrible side effects. Its been about 13 months since I have been battling with my insurance to get this treatment approved and it finally happened.

For over a year I focused on pursuing treatment with all my being as it seemed like my only hope to possibly recuperate the life I lost. I though that once I could get the treatment approved I would feel relieved and happy.

However, that was not my reaction. I actually felt pretty depressed. For the past 22 moths, I had been disassociating, trying not to be conscious of my devastating reality so I could focus my limited energy on pursuing treatment.

Once approved, I was finally able to face the emotions I had been avoiding for such a long time. And oh man, was I not ready. It hit me like a train. The approval confirmed my worst nightmare. If an insurance was willing to cover such an expensive treatment, then I must actually be sick and all of this is real.

I’m so afraid of the thought of the treatment not working or having terrible complications. I feel like this is my last chance. If this doesn’t help me, I feel ready to give up. Sorry if this is heavy, but today has been one of the hardest days of my life, and after the last 22 months, that’s a lot to say :(

Where can I get a tabletop cut in Philly?

I need to cut down a tabletop (Bme Hevea Solid Wood Butcher Block Table Top - Unfinished Desk or Countertop Surface - Suitable for DIY Desktop or Kitchen Countertop Projects - 60" L x 30" W x 1.5" ) for a project I’m doing in my kitchen and don’t have access to a saw. Already tried google but could not find anything useful.

Does anyone know a place in Philadelphia where I can take it to get it cut? Lumber yard, makerspace, woodshop — anything works. Preferably somewhere that won’t charge an arm and a leg. Thanks.

Anyone else with Autoimmune mediated SFN is always sleepy?

I have been struggling with this horrible condition for almost two years now. But recently (2-4 months ago) I have been experiencing ridiculous symptoms, other than the usual, I’m always tired and falling a sleep. And even if I take a 2-3 hour nap, I wake up just as tired. I feel like my day is only like 6 hours long now. The rest of the day, I’m either sleeping or fighting with my life not to fall a sleep and I hate it :(
