Hatsu conditions and the cost

Hatsu conditions and the cost

A neat idea popped in my head from another post i saw about Netero. When he created his hatsu it was after his prayer sequence was already faster than sound. And as they say in the series alot, you gain more from nen by placing restrictors and limits on it. Netero, beyond just having alot of nen, most likely has such a strong ability because the requirement of him doing a full prayer sequence mid fight is pretty inconvenient. Only it's not actually cause he's Netero and can do it in a fraction of a second. So my question.

Do you think Netero's ability would have been stronger if he created it BEFORE he could do his prayer in a fraction of a second, or do you think it doen't matter how fast he's able to do it, just the fact that he does it at all is a flat boost regardless.

I know, at least in the anime, he seemed surprised when he got done with his prayers earlier in the day, so it's not likely he had this ability on his mind when doing them, it's not even likely he expected to do them faster, but all the same he made a requirement which would have been incredibly debilitating, a nonissue. I like to think that it only matters in the instant of creating the ability, since at that time it's not actually a drawback for him in particular the nen would recognize that, however if Gon tried that his relative version of netero's ability would be even stronger (assuming they're both conjurs and the same strength ofc). It adds another level of foresight required to use nen to it's fullest potential, which imo isn't a bad thing

Cartoon Kaisen 1

Incident Report: The Alleyway Incident
Date: Idk lol

Suspect 1: Samurai Jack
Suspect 2: Timmy Turner
Damages: Environmental - Limited | Civilian Casualties - 0

Inciting Events: While searching for information on the ware bouts of cursed spirit Aku, grade one curse user Jack learned of a technique in the possession of semi grade one sorcerer Timmy Turner, which he believed would put him on Aku's trail. While Timmy was informed of the dangers he refused to be escorted or hidden, and maintained his usual routine. While making his way towards a mission he was confronted by Jack...

...

Timmy stood atop a flight of stares. Below him, twenty steps away, Jack stood. A straw hat shielding his eyes. A hand resting on his blade. Timmy looked on with... Detest. Observing him almost as if he were an unappetizing meal. This is who they try protecting me from? He thought to himself. Behind him, manifested upon the threat of Jack's presence, a green and a pink shikigami hovered three or so feet near him. They quietly murmured to themselves. The green shikigmi, "Anything you want timmy." The Pink, "Anything you need." Their words droned on and were stretched over long pauses. Timmy hardly paid it mind anymore, but Jack, eyes closed. Listened to them.

"Timmy Turner. At last we meet. My presence seems to have caused a ripple of fear. But worry not-" Jacks words were cut off by loud, shrill... Obnoxious Laughing. Timmy and his shikigmi laughed hard, as Jack looked up in surprise. Once Timmy was done he wiped a tear from his eye. Now smiling, buck teeth and all, he asked. "You think I'm scared of you?! I don't even know you! You don't get like me by being afraid of wanna be has beens." Jacked stood silent for a moment. He... was reminded of an old friend. "I... Suppose not. I only wish to seek your aid. I do not intend to cause anyone harm."

"Don't worry pal, you can try if you want. The only help your getting from me is a helping of kicked butt." Timmy cracked his neck and fingers. The shikigami rose in volume as timmy's cursed energy channeled. Jack lifted his hand and took one step back. "Wait, I only came to talk!" Timmy took a sprinters position at the top of the stairs, with a wicked grin he yelled. "Talk all you want then, I'm late to work!" He lunged down the stairs, as he rocketed towards jack the green shikigami shrieked and in a poof of pink and purple smoke timmy now held in his hand a pink remote with green buttons. Jack place a hand on his sword. Timmy pressed a button and his cursed energy was siphoned and imbued into it, manifesting a blade of pink cursed energy.

Timmy swung the sword at neck level as Jack took stance and drew his sword directly into a counter swing. Jack's blade met Timmy's, but his began to slice through as if there were nothing to resist it. Timmy's eyes widened as he witnessed, jack's blade, the special grade curse object "Sword of the Gods" approach his face. No! Timmy thought, then the blade cut into his face, passing through his skull, and leaving out the other end, Timmy fell to his knees behind jack, as jack himself stepped forward with the motion. Then sheathed his sword.

"You must be confused." Jack turned to see timmy, holding his face, breathing heavy as he felt for a blood, a cut, any kind of wound, but felt none. "My sword is not meant to eradicate human life. Only that of a particular cursed spirit. It reinforces itself with positive cursed energy. To a human, it is a blade which heals. To a cursed spirit it is immediately fatal. I hope this proves my-" Jack's head snapped upwards, beneath him a poof of smoke manifest a jack in the box boxing glove which sent him high into the air before he arced back down falling towards the mid point of the staircase.

Timmy lunged, dashing up the stairs to where jack would be landing. Still dazed, jack braced himself, reinforcing his body with cursed energy as timmy struck before he could land, sending him tumbling up the stairs. He finally caught himself, his foot on the vertical side of the uppermost stair, hand planted holding him up. He looked at timmy with rage, but as quickly as it formed he released it from his nose with a deep breath. Timmy's eyes were alight with focus, anger, and adrenaline. "It seems you only speak through actions. Your position has been made clear. You leave me no choice."

Timmy began to prepare another lunge but Jack moved faster. He was in front of timmy before timmy had time to form his plan. He grabbed him by the neck, the two now falling to the foot of the stairs, and as jack lifted and shunted him down, aiming to slam him into concrete, the shrill of the pink shikigami echoed out as with a poof of smoke a pink mattress was manifested where jack slammed timmy down. Timmy hacked as he bounced three feet up, but jack planted his feet on the ground. His eyes darted once towards the shikigami, then up to timmy. He leapt up and threw a hook into timmy's side, launching him into a wall, leaving it cracked as timmy lacked the air to even agonize. He dropped to the ground but before he fell to his knees Jack slammed his into timmy's stomach, pinning him to the wall, then with a back step he lauched an assult of firsts onto timmy.

It went unanswered for about four seconds before in a poof of smoke a bear trap formed in front of timmy. Jack jumped back only just in time to avoid it closing over top of him. It was pink again jack thought to himself. He glanced at the green shikigami as the two finally caught up to timmy again, it let out worried cries for timmy quietly as the pink one groaned. Timmy fell to his hand and knees, he bled from his head and his vision was cloudy. He struggled to speak but managed a feint "Cosmo..." At that call a poof of smoke manifested several hundred gallons of water at the top of the staircase. It flowed down as jack leapt into the air, planting a foot on one wall, then leaping to the other, dashing back and fourth to avoid the water as timmy was swept away by it down the narrow path. Jack lost sight of him initially but quickly spotted him again when a poof of smoke made a pink raft appear. Jack launched himself toward it, but as timmy lifted himelf to his feet, he screamed "Now!"

Erupting from the flash flood a green shark the size of an elephant shot out like a bullet at jack. It prepared to bite down onto him but jack drew his sword and at first contact dispersed the creature. He landed on the edge of the raft. The green one is now silent. He dashed forward and threw a kick at timmy's leg, but in poof of smoke, a pink post appeared between jack's leg and timmy's, then as cosmo grew in volume, the pink shikigami grew silent. Jack began to count. As he did a poof of smoke manifested a giant net gun in timmy's hand, who shot it point blank at jack, who remained focused onto the shikigami. He was sent flying off the raft but as he hit the water he felt solid ground before his head went under. The water carried them about 100ft down, leading to a ledge overlooked an entire section of city.

Jack kept his eyes locked onto the pink shikigami as he made note that the cosmo was already beginning to make noise again. Still, he waited for the pink one. Timmy kept his distance now. With a poof of smoke a green taser appeared in hand. He jumped back onto a low wall, out of the trickling water. Finally. The pink shikigami, began to murmur. Jack couldn't help but smile. Timmy tossed the taser on the ground, it was going full power but before it hit the wet ground jack unwound himself, leaping forward and grabbed it, tossed it straight up, then as timmy lifted his arms jack said "he's not ready yet is he?" Timmy's eyes widened There's no way He didn't have the mean to protect himself hand on hand from jack, and was yanked off the wall, thrown face first onto the soaked ground as jack planted himself where timmy had stood. The green taser fell and before it landed a poof of smoke made a pink rubber pad appear below it. It landed harmlessly before disappearing itself

"Green responds, every three to five seconds based on your desires at your whim. While pink, every ten seconds, responds to your needs, independent off you." Timmy didn't move, he looked at jack, and saw him looking back, there was a satisfied smirk on his face. "You must have expected the pink one to protect you from my blade in you first, reckless advance. But my blade can be of no harm to you, therefore no response was made against it. However i wonder, if they will protect you, will they likewise protect themselves? What will happen timmy turner, if i turn my blade onto them?" Jack hopped off the wall, timmy scrambled to his feet and put ten feet between them. He was beginning to look like a cornered animal. "Is it possible you do not know if they would ever return to you? Perhaps they would not, perhaps they would. I suspect you'll use one of your techniques to learn the answer later. But before you do, you will use your ability to find me the answer to my question which i have sought you out for. If you do not, our battle will continue. In that battle, i will use my blade to eradicate your shikigami. Perhaps they will return to you. But perhaps they wont."

Timmy listened on, but it was obvious he had no choice. He glared at jack, but looked to his shikigami. He considered life without them, and unwilling to risk it, he sighed heavy. "Fine. What do you want to know?" Jack relaxed. "Where. Is. Aku?" Timmy looked at him, almost disappointed it wasn't something more interesting. But shrugged as he activated a binding vow. By placing limits onto what his shikigami could manifest, aptly referred to as "Da Rules" Timmy can summon a special grade shikigami, with a near endless pool of knowledge. While Da Rules are permanent, timmy is only allowed to summon this shikigami twenty times in his lifetime. Thus far timmy has used this technique three times.

"Cosmo, Wanda, I wish to speak with Special Grade Shikigami Jorgen Von Strangle." The two shikigami began to murmur as they rambled louder and faster, the cursed energy within the two of them swelled, they rose into the air, then a massive cloud of pink and purple erupted from them, and once it cleared, between the two, a massive shikigami appeared. Green and brown patterns spotted its body as it had the texture of a camo print. Behind it a pole nearly the size of a light post hovered, on its top a glowing yellow star. "Jorgen, tell us where to find... uh." Timmy looked at jack "Is this like a guy, or a place, or..."

"A cursed spirit. Long ago in a distant land, he, Aku-" Timmy snapped his fingers "Right! That was his name, Tell us where Aku is Jorgan!" Jack's posture fell slightly. The Shikigami remained for a moment, then behind him his staff glowed brighter, and as the audible hum of the energy forming reached its maximum, a poof of smoke appeared in front of jack. Manifested from it, a map. Jack's eyes dilated as he gazed upon his first real lead in a long time. He grabbed onto the map, and felt hope rise in him again. Timmy watched him, and he began to feel a weight in his chest. He looked up to Jorgan and with a quieter tone than he'd used since before the fight began, he said "All right Jorgan, that's all." And with another eruption of smoke, the shikigami was gone.

Jack soaked in the map for an entire minute before he rolled it up and put it away. He let out a breath of relif. The sun seemed brighter, and the dar felt valublle. As he felt better than ever, timmy walked near to him. Jack looekd to him, recomposing and studying timmy's intentions. "Sorry. I probably could have saved us both alot of trouble if i listened." Jack let the tension leave him. "It is all right. I have made a commotion of things among you modern day sorcerers, while it's not my intention, i fear i do not have time to properly introduce myself."

"I could try and put in a good word for you, but they're telling everyone you're dangerous." Jack frowned. "I have hurt no human without them attempting to harm me first."

"Yeah, but it's not really about that. You're not apart of the norm. The higher ups don't like things to be different like that. Otherwise every other sorcerer will start going off on their own like you."

Jack let that sit with him. The governing bodies of this time do not sound so righteous. I wonder... No. I have a quest already. It is up to the sorcerers of today to their time right. "I appreciate your help. Should we meet again perhaps we can begin and end with words alone." Jack turns, and as he leaves timmy watches. Before he gets fully out of sight timmy calls out. "Hey, where's Aku?" Jack stops and turns to him. "My path leads me, to the Ice Kingdom." Timmy immediately frowns. "There's a curse user there. He's Special Grade."

"So is Aku." Timmy doesn't speak. Instead he sees in jack a very simple, yet from his perspective, indestructible resolve. Jack turns again.

"Jack, there's some sorcerers near there, they're kind of weird but they know how to deal with him."

"Thank you. Timmy Turner." Jack gives him a grateful smile. Then the two part ways, as jack makes his way to the land of Ooo.

Final notes: After their battle, Timmy completed his mission and returned to plead jack's case to the higher ups. His request for them to remove the issue for Jack's capture was denied. He reported no knowledge of Jack's wereabouts. Seven days later an attempt was made on Timmy's life. The details remain unknown.

Samurai Jack vs Timmy turner

Don't ask me why but i just had to write a quick little fight between samurai jack and timmy turner using jjk rules. Then the reason i had to write it kind of just vanished. Now i have this dumbass fight im emotionally invested in written out and nothing to do with it so enjoy.

"Domain Expansion"

Samurai Jack says, his hands forming the Mudra of Time. Timmy turner watches as the battlefield is encased in a pitch black curtain around him. Dark. Then, he has a vision. Jack in front of him, his sword passing through his ear, then his left eye, the bridge of his nose, his right eye, then his other ear. His vision divided, then dark. His death.

"Your death, should you fail to stop me from returning to the past. If you do not kill me in five minutes time, or if I am able to retrieve my weapon, it shall come to pass."

He explained it. It must be nearer to three and a half minutes now. Timmy thought, the stress in him rising. He's already learned to avoid all my usual moves... He learns too fast... He's figured out moves i never even used on him from my own cursed technique. It must be his Technique, an enhanced, or rather a passive accumulation of knowledge of his enemy. It would explain all his skills. Timmy huffed once, rose to his feet, then charge, he was now on the clock, no time to debate, at lesat not without moving first.

Jack's eyes moved to Cosmo, the green shikigami that hovered over Timmy. He is panicking. Good. I cannot reduce the time requirement of my domain, but he is a reckless fighter and it has been a boon to me. His green shikigami will likely respond to his wants with a weapon of some sort, now that i am disarmed he will use them in battle more aggressively. So long as i show restraint, and make no attempt on his life until the moment of my domain's activation, his pink shikigami should not respond to his needs to harshly.

Timmy lunged forward, his aim was disorient Jack, he gave up on attempting to outmatch him, he'd have to fight dirty. Cosmo cried out a shrill as in a poof of pink and purple smoke, a flash grenade appeared in his hand. Timmy glanced at it and his eyes widened, he pulled the pin and tossed it forward, leaping after it chambering a jab. Jack put an arm up in time to shield his eyes as the explosive popped in front of the two. He'd be so desperate he thought to himself, subconsciously berating timmy for blinding himself just for a chance. He lowered his arm, ready to capitalize but to his surprise, with a shreek from wanda, his other shikigami, and with the faint traces of pink and purple smoke, timmy kept his form now with a welders mask manifested onto his head. He could see.

Timmy's punch sent jack sprawling backwards, tumbling to catch his balance again. His pink shikigami responded to his needs... based on his own actions? He thought. Of course. His nature, it's reckless, his innate ability must take account of that. I should have known. Timmy's feet planted on the ground and were off it again with another powerful lunge. The welders mask poofed out of existence and revealed a buck toothed grin. Wanda will need a few more seconds before she can help me again, but that was my first hit, his brain's probably still rattling, Cosmo's already ready for another wish, he's all i need right now! Timmy lifted both arms and a remote control appeared in his hand. His favorite. He clicked a button as a blade of pure cursed energy formed, he swung down at jack, expecting this to be over, but all of the air left his lungs as jack planted a foot sqarely on his stomach. Timmy flew back even more violently than he'd been thrown himself.

Timmy yelled in pain as he crashed into the ground. Five seconds since it's appearance his remote vanished in a poof of smoke, timmy rolled back jolting to a stop as he fell shoulder first into the blade of jack's planted sword, placed behind him as apart of his domain. The wound healed just as soon as it was made, reinforced with positive cursed energy. He'd been sliced so many times by it, but the blade seemed to refuse to take the life of humans. He shoved wanda and cosmo back however, it'd eradicate them in an instant if he let them touch it, they wouldn't be back till after he was dead. Timmy rolled over to look towards Jack, who now was charging at him. If he gets to his sword, he wins. I'll... die. Timmy's eyes shoot as his body froze over, he'd never been this close to losing. "No!" He cried out, matched in his desperation, wanda screeched, her energy now replenished, there was a poof of smoke as jack halted. He knew he could bait her with timmy's fear, he now had her timing down, ten seconds between wishes for her, three for cosmo, with his wishes lasting only five.

From the smoke a massive pink snake struck at jack, who could only put his arms up fast enough to protect his face as it tore a massive chunk from his arm. He yelled in pain as it used its head to bash him into the air. Timmy watched in shock as his instincts kicked in to capitalize on this chance he'd been given. He scrambled to his feet and charged to where jack would land, who while still in mid air began to heal his wounds with reversed cursed technique. Figures Timmy thought. As he ran he yelled. "Cosmo!" Who responded by producing a patch of ice just under jacks feet as he landed. This cased jack to slip and fall to his side, timmy lept up in the air, reading a punch.

Same as his first attack... but... "Foolish child!" Jack screamed, he swung his right leg hard enough to circle him around for another gut kick, but just before it connected, a shreek from wanda came, and in a poof of smoke, timmy dissapeared, jacks foot met air, and timmy appeared on the ice, sliding across it with his same momentum, Timmy put his entire weight into this, jack had taken every opportunity to meet and surpass every combo he had to offer, that only left him with the option to create new ones. But even still. He had one flaw to rule them all.

"You rely on the pink one far too much" Jack caught timmy's punch, since the welding mask he knew she'd save him from himelf. He knew he took too mch time to recover to even fail once, all her conjurations this battle were thought out, strategic, perfect. The key to beating timmy had nothing to do with timmy himself. It was wanda. He grabbed her as she began her retreat, and as he slammed his foot to the ground, before it made contact with ice cosmo's wish had expired, and he grounded himelf firmly. Jack spun around as he threw his own punch towards timmy, the weight of gravity and leverage behind it, timmy gasped as he held his arm up and in a poof of smoke a green shield appeared and blocked his attack. Four seconds Jack thought.

"Now you have nothing!" Jack said as he let timmy catch his balance behind the shield, instead turning towards his sword. Seven seconds He pitche back and threw wanda towards it No Timmy yelled for como, but he could do nothing. Jack and timmy watched Wanda's body trike the blade of the positively reinforced katana, and disperse instantly. Jack wasted no time and ran towards it. Timmy looked to como, and steeled himself. "Ok cosmo. Maximum Technique. Pleasant Surprise: Poof" Cosmo's body contorted and wrangled as his chest split down the middle, and from it a third, purple shikigami appeared.

Timmy stood, his expression was no longer confident, no longer cared, but reolved. He knew now he was fighting for his life. No cheeky win would save him. He had to finish this now. "Obtuse." With the command poof wailed and the dimensions of the domain expanded, instantly jack's mental projection clashed with the change in space, his barrier was static in his mind. Yet with this change in volume it strained and shattered instantly. Jack did not stop.

"Rubber Goose" A shikigami goose appeared around jack, encasing him, but with a surge of his cursed energy multiplied upon itself the positive energy dispersed the spirit. He grabbed his sword.

"Green Mooe" A giant green moose appeared in front of timmy, and at speed hardly able to be reacted to it shot towards jack. But he was calm. He lifted his sword and the connected of positive energy evaporated it, as he began his approach onto timmy.

"Guava Juice" A tsunami of juice rushed towards jack, who left dozens of feet in the air. Timmy couldn't help but think Man, he jumps good.

"Giant snake" A similar snake to the one wanda had created appeared, only this one far more massive. Timmy knew jack's sword would disperse it, but he had a better idea. The snake slithered just in front of timmy, near where jack would be above. The last snake attack nearly took jack's arm, he knew he could not afford to pay this one mind. He kept his eyes focused, down.

"Birthday cake" Above jack a massive cake fell towards him, it slammed into him embedding jack into its core, then slamming onto the ground under heavy cake and icing. Jack began to cut his way through, unable to see, and not wanting to be held down.

"Large fries" Outside of the cake several javelin sized sharpened fries appeared and launched themselves into the cake at random. Jack felt his stomach, leg, and arm pierced through, he pushed further, and escaped the cake, only to find the jaws of the snake in front of him, already closing. No! I shall not die here, I will make it to the past and exorcise the curse, AKU!

His eyes burned in fury, and his blade sparked in black. The snakes fank cut him down his face but his blade touched it before he was killed. He had one good leg, all his cursed energy went to it and he laucnehd himself at timmy. Looking not too different from timmy's reckless attacks. No time to heal.

Timmy saw jack approach. The sword would not kill him, but it'd remove cosmo and poof. Timmy had no way to stop jack once he healed after they were gone. He didn't know if this next attack would stop him. Perhaps he failed cosmo, wanda, and poof. Perhaps he didn't and jack was simply an unsurpassable opponent. Etiehr way, he decided if he'd not stake his life on helplessly throwing his strongest attack out. Jack had read him because he made himself an open book. Forward attacks, nothing else. Wanda to be the strategy. Jack could only be beat with surprise attacks. What would be more surprising than a strategy born from timmy himself.

Timmy dismissed Poof, the cake, fries, and juice all vanished, as timmy focused on jack, cosmo shrilled, and responded to timmy's wants. In a poof of smoke, cosmo, was 50 feet in the air. Too far for jack to reach before cosmo would be able to cast a wish again. Jack woulden't strike timmy with the sword, it healed anyone not a cursed spirit or shikigami. He'd go for cosmo, timmy would wish for his sword, and finish off jack from below. Jack's sword passed through timmy's eyes. Nose. And ears. As he lunged past timmy, who could feel his vision split, and black approaching. He spoke softly. "I used domain applification. Normally it is used to cancle out the cursed energy of one's technique. In my case, i encase it onto my blade. Positive cursed energy is still cursed energy. It is canceled out all the same. Turning my blade, for which it is impossible to kill with. Into a simple blade. Which can kill. Stand awkwardly Timmy. I just mid diffed you."

New player looking for a convenient housing fix

Got the game yesterday, unfathomably hooked now, but i have a question. Lets say i wanna make a strictly poor, middle, or wealthy class housing district. Is there a more convinent way to do that besides manually placing down each and every building myself. I like the diverse look and i like watching them improve buildings over time but they keep going beyond what i need them to be. My poor housing demand is always high once i start getting a proper city going and when i make a new housing district it doesn't take long for it to turn into a middle or higher class one. I don't know the deeper mechanics so is there a way to place roads or just a toggle button i can press so when i make a districted area the game knows to only improve it up to the best of the poor class homes? Same with the other districts too. Thanks. Also any unsolicited tips and advice for someone with less than 20 hours could use would be nice. I love this game so far, one of the only things that's gotten me to stop playing rimworld exclusively.

Stonecutters wont stonecut

I'm not actually sure if this is a mod issue but for all i know it is. I have two pawns as my crafters and when they have no active tasks they should default to stonecutting. It's their most bottom level task, they should literally NEVER be idle because of that, but they are. One of the two is a new crafter because one of my old crafters i moved to a constructor since i thought maybe he just didn't wanna craft but it's not the pawn in particular its something about the job. They will do it if i manually make them but they wont start on their own. They have PLENTY of stones to pick from and i set both tables to "any blocks" with marble as the closest stockpile since i make all my walls from marble. There's plenty of storage space, their path to the stockpiles and tables are unblocked, they have a 18 and 5 crafting respectively, they'll use the other tables in my workshop just not the stone cutting table. It happened when i had one table, i built another and its now happening with both. Im so fucking confused, any working can use either bench, there's no restrictions on HP, quality, or distance from table.

I posted all my mods but i have no idea what would even be the issue. The most pawn behavior altering mods i have are combat extended and maybe you can count slow tick speed but that's not affectd any of my guys jobs and i got it after this became an issue. Neither pawn even has any health issues. I don't get it. Help please

Colonist stuck in an equip/unequip loop (possible problem mods are combat extended and/or simple side arms, idk which)

I keep running into this problem where one of my colonist will go to equip a weapon but then get stuck in a loop of grabbing it and dropping it in a crate then grabbing and dropping it over and over again. If i'm lucky i notice it before i get a notification of a minor/major break risk. I don't know what to do to stop this. The only mods i think could possibly do this is either combat extended or simple sidearms. Nothing else installed has anything to do with pawn behavior or weapon selections. I haven't had this problem with this guy before, i had him using a recurve bow and originally he kept refusing to equip anything but that, so i destroyed all the ones i had when i made longswords but now he wont equip a long sword without me prompting him too, when he does he instantly puts it down and walks away, then later, or even without me doing this first, he goes to equip it and gets stuck in this loop

Help

An open ended JJK based combat system

I want to make a combat system that can lend itself to those JJK type of fights. Where there's lots of back and fourth hand to hand that can be the entire focus of the fight, or they can be a means of getting your opponent into the right position for your big finishing move. Or even one fighter going for one method and the other using the other. A real free flowing type of dynamic. I have a basic idea of the most foundational aspect of this combat system I'd like feedback on, as well as any potential ideas as to what could be built onto this foundation.

The system works like this, when two people are about to engage in an exchange each rolls 1d6, with your level of hand to hand skills giving you more d6s over time. For example, a below average fighter would roll 3d6 and an above average fighter could roll 8d6 in each of these exchanges, but for this example we'll just use 1d6. So both players roll 1d6, then the each player subtracts their opponents number from their own. So if fighter A rolled a 3, and fighter B rolled a 6, fighter A would be left at a -3 in that exchange, and fighter B would be left at a +3. Fighter A subtracts 3 from their HP and fighter B adds 3 points to a resource pool they can use for more advanced techniques.

And that's it. This is the most bare bones version of combat still, basically two humans brawling. This is meant to be used in a JJK setting so people would have their own abilities they can use to give them edges that add contextual d6s to their exchange rolls or they may not even aim to go hand to hand at all. Think Megumi vs Reggi. Megumi's strategy in their final exchange of attacks may have been to build enough points for a martial ability that could be called "sneak attack" he could apply to his dog to take reggi off guard and finish him off. Now think of Todo's fights. He may rely on his hand to hand skills for wins, and use his ability to give him more d6s to ensure he'll win enough exchanges to beat his opponent, and use his stored up points to navigate any challenge his opponent throws at him. Then think of Jogo, he likely never uses exchanges, and instead purely uses his abilities to kill people.

Also yes, i do realize this is a very winner favoring system. Once you win one singular exchange statistically speaking you have the advantage right off rip. The more you win exchanges, the easier it is to win the entire battle. That's intentional. If you start losing, i want my players to start fighting dirty, creative, or using more of their resources to cope as a means of putting themselves back in the winning position. And for the winners, once they begin to win, i want them to have the ability to begin focusing on completing goals beyond just winning. Once again, think of sukuna vs Maharaga. Sukuna was winning his "exchanges" for the majority of the fight, and thus had the ability to start playing with maharaga's adaptations, teaching him to feint, and making maharaga show him the full capabilities of his powers which inspired him to use him later in the series.

I'd like some honest opinions on the concept I'm working on. As well as some ideas to implement

A not so short, tragic story from my world about a very important halfling named Hilbert.

This is a setting i use for my DnD games so it has alot of dnd content mixed in.

My world is called Ezra, and I divide it between Ancient Ezra (A.E) and Modern Ezra (M.E). Around 400 M.E magic began to enter its advanced era. The time where third level spells stopped being the best the average wizard could do. Most of that advancement came from a single halfling named Hilbert. Elves are typically seen as the "magic" people and they're pretty protective over that stigma, but Hilbert practically had magic in his DNA, he was so good at it and so integral to it he was Durian Kingdom's, the primary home of elves and the magic capital of the world, favorite person.

Hilbert did alot in his life, which he extended with something that's more relevant later. His biggest feat was the creation of the wish spell. He created it at around 500 M.E and got so good with it that by 600 M.E the spell would cast automatically, against his will. He could think "man, i could go for a sandwich right now." and the spell would grant that to him. He was simply another tier of powerful when it came to this world. My lore isn't 100% finished but it's very likely that it'll stay consistent that while he was alive, he was THE most powerful creature on the planet. (at least in terms of mortals).

He had reached the peak of his contributions to ezra and was now entering his legacy years, where he isolated himself in his tower, found and adopted four daughters from various parts of the world, and studied what he liked rather than with the intent to create anything. But before he fully committed to just being a chill old guy he needed to put his mind at ease by putting a cap on the risks of his wish spell. For his own quality of life he developed a method of thinking where his more inner thoughts took lead and his surface level thoughts were suppressed. Think of it like riding a bike down a hallway with branching paths. You see a left and right path and your brain just TELLS you which way to go, based on choices your subconscious is thinking about faster than you can comprehend. It feels like a random choice based on nothing but it is technically a choice your brain made after thinking about factors faster than you comprehended it too. Hilton's was just very reliable based on time and wisdom, so more often than not it worked out. This let him live his life without firing his wish off every two seconds.

As for the spell in the hands of others, he tracked down Amilda. In my lore i have a pantheon of several gods. Amilda was the goddess of the sea. She, with Terren, the god of Earth, created the planet together, as well as the sea, and land based creatures respectively. Amilda thought it'd be best if each creature were meticulously managed like a sims character, so they could live their "best" life. Terren thought it'd be best to let them just run their own course, with more vauge and general guidance. Long story short, they fought about it and Terren won. But, he didn't want to punish Amilda too badly, so he banished her onto Ezra, into the lowest point of the deepest ocean, where she is now. There is a legend that she will grant any mortal who finds her a wish, if they can win her over. The wish of even Hilton was insignificant compared to the scope of what a wish from a god could grant.

He found her, and won her over again. In Hilbert's natural life, at around 450 his original great feat was finding Amilda in the first place. When he found her, he asked her to expand the capacity of his mind. This is what let him learn so much that enabled him to do the things he did. But her influence on him also gave him a much longer lifespan. He'd have most likely lived to be five or six thousand years old. With this second visit she was less willing to be so nice. Anyone who meets her is made aware that if they ever come back she will take that as an insult. Regardless he managed to convince her to give him one more wish at a cost. He had her place limits on his wish spell, both casted by him and anyone who learned it. Only once per day, at a great material cost.

As payment, it was made so that if anyone spoke the name of any of his daughters they would die. She also took his magic. After the encounter, he miraculously still had his wish spell, which seemed to be too well mixed into his soul to be taken from him. It was only limited to once per day, but it still cost him nothing but a thought.

From that point on, he lived peacefully. He studied in his tower, learned new skills, and spent time with his daughters, less so after they became adults with legacies of their own. One of his daughters came to him one day. She was a human, very advanced with magic but the elves wouldn't recognize it. She was only significant to them because of her relation to Hilton. Beyond that she was just a human to them, so she sought their approval by turning herself into an elf permanently First through altering her physical appearance, but when they refuse that, she aimed to make herself an elf genetically.

Over her years of study, she kidnapped elves and humans, and did hundreds of tests an exparements on them. All of which tuned into nothing but torture. Eventually she gave up trying, and turned towards Hilton, asking him to use his wish to turn her into an elf. He refused, so to show her desperation she told him of the things she had done. Instead, this only made Hilton see her as a monster, and his shock lowered his walls enough for his wish to make his thoughts reality. She attacked him as a true monster, and fled, leaving him hurt. He laid injured for an entire day. All the while wishing for the entire situation to be over. His knowlage of what his daughter had done, her desire to be an elf, his slip, turning her into a true monster. Once it was able to be use again, he only wanted what hurt his daughter to be gone. And so his wish removed the power that did so, and with it fully joined to his own existence, he as well was removed from reality.

Eventually he was checked on, the elves even years after his active years held him as a treasure. When his "death" was discovered, as well as the evidence of his daughters actions. They wanted nothing but revenge. Amilda's curse was found out long ago, but one of the few wishes Hilton allowed himself was to remove all of their names from the memories of all but themselves and Hilton. But they still existed in text within the tower tower. They found her name again. The next morning, in Durian kingdom, when the Elves began to wake, they found their whole kingdom graffitied with the name of a woman they had no way of knowing. It's not known who would have been the first to say it out of curiosity, or recognition but it was inevitable. And so unbeknown to them, an entire kingdom participated in an execution. The other daughters were framed for various crimes, and labled as wicked. And so the four of them, one now dead, became the wicked witches of the north, east, south, and west. Despite the kingdom's campaign to vilify his daughters, they still teach his life's story in their schools, call him a hero and genius, and learn his spells.

My honest dream life

I've been sick in bed all day so I've just been thinking of my ideal life and felt like sharing it for no real reason.

Firstly, i wanna win around 250k dollars in the lottery (after tax). Enough to live off for the forseeable future, but not some absurd amount that would make me feel like i'd never have to work again. Also, I want to live in Canada with my girlfriend and promote her to wife. I wanna make ice cream for people. And i don't want a stationary stand, i want one of those roller carts you can sell ice cream out of. Maybe even i'd build it myself honestly. I'm vaguely aware of how to make homemade ice cream but i wanna become extremely aware so i can make my own flavors and proportions.

If you're the local ice cream guy, you're everyone's favorite. Children, adults, elderly, it doesn't matter. I'd sell it for super super cheap too. Like, one dollar ice cream. I don't honestly care about doing it for money, i have another thing i'd like to do for money, but this would just be a fulfillment thing. Make people happy, make myself happy and if i ever have a super bad day, i have a bunch of ice cream right in front of me.

For money, because of the 250k, I could just let me and my girlfriend go balls deep into doing our creative work for exra money. Like, just see how much we can get between the two of us while we live off the 250k. She does prints, stamps, embroyderies, she makes clothes, and costumes and patchwork. I like to edit together motion comics, write short stories, and i run dnd games alot for fun. I could totally see myself editing trailers or issues/chapters from people's indie comics and/or manga to get them noticed more. I don't think i'd wanna do dnd for money, making content beyond running games isn't really my thing and i don't think i like games that require a fee to play.

I want a bald cat named Skin Tag. I'd like to make sure my family is ok financially but i don't think i wanna really interact with them once i have my own place. And i wanna have a small garden for things like onions and tomatoes and whatever else i might want. It'd be cool to have chickens too.

Your dream run

Ignoring mod/game restrictions and possible computer performance issues oc any kind, what’s your most out there/wanted gimmick run?

Mine is a joint hospital/power plant. In one half I can take in pawns with illnesses, injuries, disabilities, or requests for biological/biomechanical or even gene improvement and bad gene removals, cure them for a fee, beds cost silver similar to hospitality, and I can even have an area for visitors of the sick/injured to stay while they recover. This can be in the form of quests to cure diplomats or other important people, travelers who came here to be helped, or people from other factions who sought my base out for medical problems they couldn’t solve themselves. It’d also be a place I can sell all the medecine types from as well as organs, (both doner and “borrowed” from raider) and various tiers of prosthetics.

On the other half I have a super OP power plant that can charge batteries super fast. I could have a plot of land for power cables where factions can rent or buy the space to have the poles routed to their bases, essentially powering entire other settlements. There could also be a charging station for other grav ships or shuttles, cardigans could bring their empty batteries to be charged, or I could just straight up sell pre charged batteries. Maybe even have a second settlement made to actually store all the power produced to avoid atomizing all the patients in the hospital section.

Not one leg in this entire photo

I decided to make an arctic hospital run, pick up transport pod crash victims, capture visitors with disabilities, fixing them, then releasing them, that sort of thing. Turns out that's boring and you don't do alot of it. So, naturally i veered more towards capturing raiders and turning them into blood farms. im in that stage where im looking for things to sell and im making a bunch of medicine to sell (to be on theme of course) but im curious if any traders actually buy hemogen or not. I've seen only a bulk salesman since i started and he didn't want any, are there traders who actually go for that? also, how else can i make money off these guys? I can turn them into organs or sell them to slavers but is there anything more renewable i can use them for? If hemogen can be sold to anyone that's the obvious one.

I do also have hospitality so i'm considering making a small guest area and having their shoppable space being my hemogen storage as another potential method of selling it if no caravans were buying. Any fact check on if that works? I'm open to more suggestions too, i usually make libraries, farms, or distilleries so I'm in uncharted waters for myself right now.
