Samsung 990 Pro in Sabrent Enclosure not recognized / assignable

I have had a 990 Pro 4TB as my main / only drive in my R16 for about two years. I purchased another to use as a backup in usb-c enclosure. When I plug it in to my R16, there is no recognition of the drive, so to speak. It shows up in device manager as a SCSI device (sabrent) and in disk manager it shows up as a second disk, correctly reporting "Online" and the size. I could not format the drive on my R16 even after creating that volume, so I brought it over to a 5-year old Dell desktop where it was immediately recognized, and formatted as NTFS. Bringing it back to my R16, I plug it in, and it again is not recognized / receives no drive letter, and cannot be assigned a letter. If I try to format it, or assign it a drive letter on the R16, it says "The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the disk management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer.

I have restarted disk management. I have restarted the computer (actual restart , not just shut down and wake back up. ) I have plugged the drive into all 3 usb-c ports (front and back). I have gone through every step chatGPT could come up with, but I'm stuck. There just seems to be something incompatible between the R16 and the drive/enclosure. I can't figure out why it worked instantaneously in a 5-year old machine...

Would love any pointers. Thanks!

Galaxy XR using massive amounts of wifi data

So this is weird. I just looked at my att app that tracks wifi data usage on our home network. I found that the XR has used 60+gb of data over the past few weeks, when I have not touched it, turned it on, or used it in any way .It literally has dust on it. It also shows it used about 9GB of data in the last day alone. What is going on? Thanks for any guesses.

Also, yes, I've verified it's the XR by IP address matching.

Is roughly 3 cents per mile a strong value on Air France?

Just booked tickets for *next* May. ATL to CDG. Flights were $2,000 pp, or 55k miles + $500 per person. Transferred Amex points to FlyingBlue at 1.25:1, so really this was 132k Amex points for roughly $4500 in savings. Thanks for any feedback. First time redeeming Amex points and also first time booking on Air France.

2018 Q5 - Repair Cost Review

2018 Q5 .

Hi All. We recently were away for about 10 days, didn't drive the Q5. Came home and noticed an oil spot under the car. Started noticing smaller oil spots every day. Had to add about 1 quart of oil over the next month. Took it to the dealership, who initially said it was a leaking oil drain plug $280. They included photos that showed the oil about 4 inches *above* the drain plug, which to me made no sense. Oil doesn't leak, *up* does it? This was Saturday. They said they were going to have another 'master' technician look over it. This morning they sent a new estimate saying "Engine Oil Pan Gasket is Leaking, Upper Engine Cover gasket is leaking due to faulty crankcase vent valve. " Estimate for that is $3299.99

Is $3,299 reasonable for those two gasket replacements? Thanks for looking!
