Looking for advice on adopting a kitten...

A coworker of mine is fostering several kittens currently, and I was considering adopting one. I'm hesitant because of my current cat, who's ~10 years old.

Recently my brother and sister-in-law brought some kittens they had got from a friend of theirs by my house, and my cat hissed at them. Part of me thinks if she had time to adjust to a kitten's smell over time, like separating them with a door, she'd be okay with it, but another part of me worries she won't.

I've read that it can be good for some cats to have a companion for when the humans aren't home, and she's been alone since my other one passed in December of 2024. I'm conflicted about if it would actually be good for her specifically, and also about maybe letting her remain an "only child" so to speak so she can receive all of our love and attention.

Any advice would be helpful and appreciated. I'm open to answering any clarifying questions anyone might have to help give me better advice.

Question about Tome Points carrying over...

I remember reading that something like only 2,000 tome points will carry over each season, but does anything happen with the remaining points? Will they be converted to gold or something, or just disappear into the aether? If they get converted to gold, how much per point? It's be pretty lame to not get something out of earning so many points.

Spawning in with empty inventory...

Since the most recent update a day or two ago, every time I load into a game I lose the inventory I logged out with and have nothing but a default pistol. Is this and intended thing or is it a bug or a secret third thing?

Should I get Dark Forces Remastered?

Title is pretty self-explanatory. Dark Forces Remastered is on sale 50% off on PlayStation. I never played the original, but I've heard it's good. Is the remaster worth buying?

Event Progress...

If you make a certain amount of progress on an event, 8/10 parties for example, but don't get to 10/10 before the day's event ends, does it carry over to the next day?

Designer Program Series 7 Ship Date?

This series (Series 7) was my first time ordering one of the BDP sets, and I read they *should* be shipping out this month. Does anyone know from experience when that might be? Early in the month? Middle of the month? End of the month?

Hill's Meats Seriously Thick Cut, Best Cooking Method?

I usually just get normal thick cut bacon, but Hill's "Seriously Thick Cut" bacon was on sale so I figured I'd give it a try. Ended up cooking it like I cook normal bacon, in the oven on a cooking tray with parchment paper, but the sheer amount of fat didn't render properly. Does anyone have better methods to properly cook this type of bacon?
