Been wanting this Phantom Stranger book for an awhile. Not officially Swamp Thing, but looks cool alongside these other books nonetheless.

Some Silver & Bronze Age DC goodness! I just discovered that The Phantom Stranger book came out when I first came into this world!!!

Man every time I say I’m gonna cut back, I make the mistake of walking in my LCS “just to browse” and end up leaving just a bit poorer. The struggle is real 😂

This is not my most valuable book, or biggest key in my collection, but for a book that’s just a tad older than me (I’m 54) I’m pretty happy with it being a CGC grade 9.2. I collect both raw and slabbed books and most of my Silver and Bronze age prizes are low to mid grade for affordability reasons. This rn is the oldest highest graded book that I currently own. What about you?

So I walk into my LCS to p/u my pull list books, and I see this X-Men 66 up on the wall (last original team book before reprints up to the Claremont run). It was a consignment book listed for $385. I’ve been wanting this book as I have X-Men 1 already and am almost completely done getting GSX-Men 1 through Uncanny 150 (I only need 103, 104 & 113). I throw out a low ball offer of $250 thinking no way will he take it. While waiting for a reply I see the 1st Sinister book for $125 from the same guy, so I make another low ball offer of $325 for both. To my surprise the guy accepts. I have points in the store, so with $35 off I paid $315 OTD. I think I got a heck of a deal.

Found these today at a vintage store! Only went in because I was in the area. Glad I did.

Found these in one of my favorite LCS today, and snagged all for $100 OTD. Books are mid-low grade. I estimate #110 at 4.0, 114 at 3.5, 128 at 4.0, & 141 newsstand at 4.5. Mechaneck is missing his weapon. I’m pretty happy with the deal. Now I only need issues 103, 104, 105, & 113 to complete my run of GSX-Men 1 through Uncanny 94-150. After that I’m continuing to 200. I already have a bunch of those books.

The stories and writing may not be the greatest, but the covers are awesome!

Back in 1982 as a 11 year old kid my grandma sent me to the Safeway on Mission Street in SF to pick up some groceries (and probably cigarettes & beer 😂). Down the street was a small hardware store that sold toys. That was the first time I laid eyes on He-Man, Skeletor, and the other original 8 MOTU figures. I remember rushing back to ask for money to buy one cause I thought they were the coolest thing. I think He-Man was the first one I got. Always loved this toy line and the comics, cartoons, movie that came with. Really excited for the new movie!!!

2008 figure. This one looked so cool that I had to have it. Bought this and a few key issues of various comics at my LCS Memorial Day sale!

Picked these up at my LCS today. None were must haves, but cool books nonetheless. I’m really digging the He Man figure.

This is my first eBay purchase where I’ve had to leave less than positive feedback, & I’ve bought a lot of books from eBay. My only consolation is I was the only bidder on this book and got it for around $30 including taxes and shipping. Now I think I overpaid 🤷‍♂️

Crossed another book off my want list. Great looking book, and a solid 8.0-8.5 IMO. Not even on the wall for 24 hours per the LCS where I bought it from.
