Multi country eSIM for Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand

I have a business trip coming up through Tokyo, Seoul, KL, and Bangkok for three weeks. Really do not want to juggle four separate eSIMs. I checked a few Asia regional plans then I got confused.

Anyone found one plan that covers all four and worked fine? Thanks  for any recommendations!

diamonds earrings

Hi all, I’m in Seoul and thinking about picking up a pair of diamond earrings before I leave. Budget is flexible, I’d rather pay for quality than just find the cheapest option. Any rec for reputable jewelers? Independent stores are totally fine too, as long as they’re trustworthy and english friendly.

please help QC: bee my love

Hi all, asked about diva's dream quality a few days ago and got really helpful answers, so trying the same approach with this one.

these are the pics for my Bee My Love qc and same problem. I can tell some look better than others but struggle to articulate exactly what to look for. is it the honeycomb alignment or the finish between cells? what separates a good one from a mediocre one?

Saw this recent Beni promo and was more interested in the cinematography than the robot itself.

The low camera angle really sells the sense of speed and scale for me. What do you think, does it work, or would you have approached it differently?

what's the difference

been wanting a Diva's Dream necklace for a while and just started doing proper research. found these two comparison photos while going through old threads and the general consensus seems to be that the right one is noticeably better. but honestly I can't fully articulate what's making the difference.

from what I can see the MOP on the right looks cleaner and whiter, and the diamond border along the bottom edge seems more evenly spaced. but I'm not sure if there's something more specific I should be looking at.

what exactly separates a good rep from a mediocre one? trying to actually learn rather than just guess. would help a lot before I commit to an order.

I asked the AI"What do you think if i quit my job to start a business?", this is what it answered me

Been sitting on this idea for way too long. Have some savings set aside, but kept going in circles on where to actually begin, too many variables, not enough structure.
On a whim I just typed the question into an AI. It broke it down into four steps and somehow made the whole thing feel less overwhelming. The first one, validating the idea with an MVP before quitting is probably the part I've been avoiding the most. That's where I'm starting. It's not a perfect roadmap, but it gave me a direction when my own head couldn't. Curious if anyone else has used AI to help think through a big life/career decision like this.

College student pairing thin and light with eGPU for gaming, anyone tried Nimo? Recommendations?

Bought a thin and light for school since I need to carry it everywhere, but the GPU isn't really cutting it for gaming. Don't want to buy a whole separate gaming laptop so looking into eGPUs as a solution. Still pretty new to this. From what I've seen, Razer Core X and Akitio Node get recommended a lot and seem like solid options. Also a friend had a good experience with nimo mini PC so I've been keeping an eye on them, apparently they might have an eGPU coming at some point. Anyone know anything about that? Open to any suggestions, just trying to figure out the best starting point.

Thoughts on Mini-LED TV as a secondary monitor from a distance?

Lately I’ve been thinking about trying something a little different for my setup instead of buying another traditional monitor.
My main monitor already handles gaming and color-critical work fine, but for my secondary display I kind of want something larger and more immersive that can sit farther back in the room. Part work screen, part “vibe monitor” for videos, ambient visuals, dashboards, movies, random YouTube stuff, etc.
I’ve been looking at 45-55” MiniLED TVs because they seem way cheaper than giant OLED monitors, plus I’m less worried about static UI elements staying on screen all day.
Saw some posts about hisense u6 pro and u7. They look pretty decent in the promo videos and spec-wise they seem surprisingly capable for the price, especially with the higher refresh rates and HDR support.
Anyone here actually using a tv like this as a secondary monitor setup? Thoughts and feelings?

Are smart irrigation controllers actually worth the money?

Summer water bills down here are getting out of hand. My neighbor picked up some smart irrigation controller a few months back and swears his usage went down. I kind of rolled my eyes at first but it got me thinking.
I poked around online and honestly the reviews are a mixed bag. Some people show real savings, others say they barely noticed a difference. The IrriSense 2 kept popping up when I was searching but I still cannot figure out if these things genuinely cut your water bill or if it is just nicer than setting a timer manually.
Has anyone here actually tracked their bills before and after getting one? Like over a full season not just a month. Trying to decide if it is worth the upfront cost or if I should just stick with what I have.

How do professional editors actually manage huge amounts of footage?

I'm still pretty new to editing, and recently I realized that finding footage might actually be harder than the editing itself.

At first, when I didn't have that much footage, it wasn't too bad, but once multiple projects piled up, finding what I needed became a major headache. I encountered duplicate clips, randomly named filenames, and exported versions mixed with original footage. Sometimes I spend more time searching for footage than actually editing.

I've been trying to improve my process before bad habits become permanent. I use the clipto .AI edit footage, which can instantly search for the moments I want. But if I need to import longer videos or other footage, the free version runs out quickly.

Maybe I need to plan ahead about the types of videos I want to shoot, How do you guys handle this?

Mini PC is very suitable for minimalist desktop layouts

Lately, I've been tinkering with my own desktop layout and found that one of the biggest troubles with traditional desktop computers is their strong presence. Once the pc case is placed on the desk, the usable surface area is immediately reduced by a piece. And it's also very difficult to completely tidy up the cables. My friend has a minipc, its a geekom a7max, it’s so tiny then he directly mounted it behind the monitor, and the desk is very clean. It feels like his computer only consists of the screen, keyboard, and mouse.
Next time I buy a new machine, I am 100% getting a mini PC too. Im completely sold on the minimalist setup.

I have too many interests and can't pick one niche. Will Garden Mentoring help me monetize everything together?

I feel stuck because I have too many interests and I honestly don’t know how to choose one niche. I enjoy content around mindset, wellness, business, creativity, lifestyle, and personal growth, and every time I try to narrow it down, I feel boxed in or lose motivation.

I recently came across Garden Mentoring and noticed they talk a lot about personal branding and “getting paid to be you,” which sounds more flexible than traditional niche advice. I’m wondering if the program actually helps people combine multiple interests into one brand or if you still end up needing to choose one thing eventually.

Does Garden Mentoring actually help people combine multiple interests into one clear personal brand, or do you eventually still have to pick one niche? And has anyone here tried SinaPort in a similar situation? I’d love to know if either of these helped turn multiple interests into a monetizable direction instead of feeling scattered.

What are some weird niche businesses that actually work?

Hi everyone,
I'm a business school junior currently prepping for the co-create pitch. Since I'm still young and don't have much industry experience, I feel like my vision is pretty narrow. I've been hitting a wall trying to find the sweet spot between an idea that's 'too boring' and one that's 'impossible to build.'
I'm looking for some inspiration. To all the small business owners here: what's the weirdest or most unique niche you've seen work for people? Like strange services or untapped markets that blew your mind?

A Review of The Darkness That Comes Before

This book is a good introduction to an epic fantasy that is stifled under its own darkness. The world building is grand, intricate, and meticulously detailed, but it wasn't digestible; Bakker keeps throwing names at you, and you're left to wonder what they mean. It got easier as the book went on seeing how the names that truly mean something insist upon themselves, but there was a section in the first half of straight politicking that was intriguing to read but also a sore to comprehend.

I liked the character work here too. Achamian and Esmenet were my two standouts. Achamian is immediately appealing as he is the only character in this book with a semblance of a moral compass.I am of the opinion that Earwa needs to be fucking nuked into the ground and that they deserve every bit of an apocalypse, but Akka is the one counter argument I can understand.

I have also heard a lot about the treatment of women in this series and I agree with both sides; I agree and understand that Bakker intends to depict both the reality of a patriarchal society and the extremes of a society tended towards the male gaze, but I also think this dilutes the characters at hand. Serwe's sections can be summed up into "Oh yes daddy i will worship you forever and ever and fuck you barbarian i hate you!!!!" Esmenet on the other hand, was well written. You feel the weight of Earwa's sexism and oppression during her sessions, and you empathize with her desire for more, but subsequently you are also stifled by the hopelessness befitting one of her station within this shithole of a world.

Aside from these two, I liked Cnaiur and Kellhus as well. Cnaiur was a good depiction of the medieval barbarian; an expert and genius at warfare, but also depraved and amoral within its execution. For a character so intense, he never felt one dimensional. Kellhus was interesting too and it was interesting to see how he pitted people against their own desires. He is one of the best written manipulators I've read, you know that everytime he's talking to someone he's actively trying to manipulate them, but he also makes such effective points that you can't help but listen. The Dunyain are made out to be this genius race and Kellhus definitely lives up to that bearing.

It is evident that this is simply the wind that causes the dominoes to fall, and a lot of the book is politicking and setup. The amorality, dialogue, and politics here are reminiscent of Game of Thrones, but heavily toned with themes of religion, fairh, philosophy, determinism, and oppression. I am excited to read what happens next, even considering how I have spoilt myself for the entire series.
