PSA: Free hazardous waste disposal

Looked far and wide for a place to dump old gasoline that's been sitting in my generator for 2 years. Without paying money or waiting for an event, there's only one place in the city.

  • Burton's Collision
  • 4384 E. Galbraith Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45236 513-984-3396

Found them here:

This is a tool from the city that lists disposal sites, based on whatever you need to dispose of.

Made the files/permissions on Mac - Cause may be that I made the files on mac and did something with permissions there (it's been years with some of the files)

Things I've tried

  • Giving myself file permissions:
    • <<File Explorer → PropertiesSecurity tab → Advanced → at the top where it says Owner, click Change → type your username → click OK → check the box that says Replace owner on subcontainers and objectsApply>>
    • I also did this via the cmd prompt and it seemed to work but...
    • I am the owner of the files (confirmed when I look at their properties) but when I try to transfer them it says I don't have permission.
  • Using cmd prompt and robocopy with /B to bypass all permissions
    • Got a bunch of "The system cannot find the specified file" messages
  • Opening the files
    • Files do not appear corrupted, but when I try to open them, they don't open
      • Media Player says I don't have permission

>What may be the issue:

>Files are on an additional storage HDD on my PC. Some time later after formatting the HDD and transferring the files there, I had to wipe my SSD (with the OS) and reinstall a new copy of Windows.

It may also have something to do with creating the files on my mac and maybe doing something with permissions there first?

EDIT - Running "chkdsk D: /f /r" as we speak
