I recently purchased the Electron Xout after having the POUND HDMI for a couple of years and now I'm noticing purple and green bars on the xbox boot up screen and on 2 games: Vietcong: Purple Haze and Street Racing Syndicate. On ElectronShephards FAQ it states my scenario and suggests getting caps replaced. I opened my console up and there are some that are bulging but none have released their juice onto the motherboard. I removed the clock capacitor a couple years back when I did the Rocky mod. Is there anyone in Northern Illinois that does recaps? Or worst case scenario, can anyone suggest an inexpensive soldering iron for this? It would be a one and done for me so not looking for an expensive one. I've only soldered one other time; 20 years ago to revive a Creative Zen Jukebox mp3 player and was successful albeit ugly.

Opened up the console and some caps are bulging but no corrosion on mobo. Clock capacitor was removed 2 years ago when I did the softmod. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Obviously Sony (& Microsoft) will not remove the paywall for online multiplayer but there SHOULD BE a no frills option like Nintendo has on Switch/Switch 2 for $19.99 a year. I don't care about the free games they give on PS Plus. I just want to play games I purchase that have online capabilities at a fair price if it can't be free at this time.

I own a PSVR2 already (the horizon call of the mountain bundle) but have been having an internal debate if I should buy another one since it is on reduced price for $299? Mainly for the controllers but also because ever since I bought mine new from BestBuy Online in January 2025, I always had doubts that the one I received was an open-box one as it was missing holographic seal and part of the box was slightly ripped.

I put on the globular cluster and did help with the sweet spot but have always had the nagging thought.

Edit/Update: Appreciate those who replied. I did go ahead and order one to have as back up.

Absolutely ridiculous! Works just fine on PlayStation and Microsoft says no problems on their side.
