Linking Tickets
I live in a rural area serviced by a small regional airport. All AA flights in and out are from DFW, ORD or DCA.
I’m looking at booking a trip to Asia and I’m finding the fares are much more affordable if I book round trip from one of those three major hubs. I could then use miles for an award ticket from my regional airport to the major hub.
My question is this, can those two reservations be linked so I’m protected in case the award flight is delayed or cancelled and I miss the second leg? Or should I arrive at the major hub the night before and spend the night as an extra precaution? Thanks!!
Stupid Question - Classic Wilton Chronograph
How do I engage the large second hand dial on this watch. I can press the sub-buttons and it starts, but stops later and the 12 position.

Look what UPS brought me today. I absolutely love it and it will make a great every day timepiece.

Haven’t worn this one in a while, but I love it!
Help - How to Make Cafe Sua Da
Can someone please help me with how to make a proper cafe sua da (like Highlands) using the Vietnamese coffee dripper and coffee in the pictures? Specifically, how much coffee and hot water should I use for a single serving?
Will Eagle Brand condensed milk work? If so, is the amount a matter of personal taste?
Thanks!!!!
Best Time to Buy Tix
I’m traveling from DFW (maybe ORD) to Vietnam (SGN) in September. How much in advance should I purchase my ticket? Does Cathay typically drop fares at any particular time/month?
Thanks!
I need to fly to Vietnam later this year (after Sep) to complete some implant dental work. I realize AA doesn’t fly to Vietnam, but I’d like to use 2 systemwide upgrades that I have for the long haul segments of my departure and return.
My travel dates, times, and departure/arrival cities are completely flexible. I would buy a separate RT ticket from my Asia arrival city to Vietnam.
Everything I’ve tried on AA booking shows systemwide upgrade not available for the long haul segments. Any suggestions on how I might be able to structure my itinerary to have the best chance of getting the upgrades from any U.S. city to any Asian city?
Are there any particular Bulova models and/or movements that are most likely to appreciate in value over time (or at least hold their value)?
For example, Accutrons, Precisionists, Automatics, etc. Assuming excellent condition. Thanks!
I recently received 2 systemwide upgrade awards and I really understand how they work. I was hoping someone could help.
I will be planning a trip to Vietnam within the next 12 months. I fly solo and would only buy one RT ticket. Are the upgrades good for travel on partner airlines (i.e. Cathay or Japan)? Do I book the flight first and then request the upgrade?
I’m totally flexible on routing. Are there routes with greater chances of the upgrade being approved? I could buy multiple tickets, if that would help (award trade between DFW and Singapore and a separate purchased ticket between Singapore and Vietnam).
Thanks!
Can anyone provide the model number for this watch? Thanks!
I’m the type of person that when I like something, I stick with it. There’s something about Bulova watches that catches my eye more than any other brand. I realize they are decent mid-range watches and will likely never appreciate in value, but I still like them. Am I wrong for limiting my collection exclusively to Bulovas?
I have 2 Seikos (they were gifts) and have purchased about 10 Bulovas. Most are automatics, but I do have a couple quartz movements and one Accutron. I’m trying to stay with 21 jewel movements.
Should I focus on what I like or expand my collection to include other fine watches?
My brother is battling brain cancer. He had one surgery in October and the tumor regrew to approximately the same size in 6 months. He had the second tumor removed and it has been a much more difficult recovery. He’s starting his second, more aggressive, round of chemo therapy this week.
Does anyone see what the future holds for him. I’m looking for honest feedback.
Thanks!
