Reached a dead end

Hi,

I'm new to all this and have reached an issue.

My great-grandmother died in 2016, and I am not in touch with any family who can tell me more about her.

I know:

Her name

Her husband's name

Her birthday

Her date of death

I've searched birth records, censuses and variations of her name but I cannot find anything that helps me identify her parents.

What do I do next?

Worried about son starting nursery

My two year old has just been diagnosed with autism.

He is due to start nursery in January and I have some fears, I'm wondering if anybody can tell me their experience and how their child is coping and if nursery has helped anything?

My son is non-verbal and doesn't play with others.

He doesn't really like sharing or being stopped in the middle of a task.

He can become easily frustrated when people don't understand his needs/wants, due to not being able to voice them - this can sometimes, understandably, lead to him lashing out and smacking and screaming.

They do have SEN trained staff there.

My worries are that he might hurt someone else out of frustration or that he will struggle to make friends because they will think he is "different".

I don't like that he wont be able to tell me if something has happened at nursery that has upset him, or if he is struggling.

One of the lovely nursery teachers there said they can work with him with makaton and AAC devices and that they often see some level of communication progression in the SEN children there. I did voice my worries to them, and they didn't seem concerned about anything bad happening to him.

Ultimately, I just want to do the best by him and to know that sending him to nursery is the best/right thing to do for him.

I want to end with saying that he is a lovely little boy, I dont want anyone to think that because he becomes frustrated he is bad or nasty, because I too would probably become frustrated if I couldn't communicate my needs or felt people weren't understanding me. He is kind and he is funny, and I fear people won't see that past his "differences". As someone who was bullied/ostracised all throughout my life, I'm scared that the other children won't want to play with him or that he won't make friends as he doesnt really have interest in others. Im worried he wont settle in without us, as he can get quite severe separation anxiety.

Cannot believe this

Hi,

Im 25 and had my second son via csection in February, due to traumatic birth with my first son requiring ventouse and forceps which led to a 3C tear.

4 weeks after my second son was born i noticed a bulge, then days later another. GP said there was a mild cystocele and rectocele but they didnt feel comfortable fitting a pessary.

Next I saw a gyne, who said Cervix was high and he didnt want to fit a pessary or do surgery because im young. He said come back and see him in 6 months to see how things looked then.

Woken up this morning and my cervix is coming down too, practically at vaginal opening.

Im horrified. I feel like they should've done something sooner and then I might not be in this position now. Gyne can't see me until October..

What do I do?

How am I supposed to be intimate with my partner with 3 organs slowly making their way out of my body.

I feel so devastated and stressed

Worried that People think my toddler is "bad" or "rude"

My toddler is two in a few days. We have a lot of very big tantrums, as well as some neurodivergent behaviours like ignoring anyone who isn't Mum, Dad or Grandad.

I notice the way people, even family, look at him or speak about him. They think he's naughty, because he tantrums, and they think he's rude, because he doesnt want to cuddle or kiss them or engage with them.

Just because he may be "different", I dont want him to live a life of people judging him. I worry about how he will struggle if he is "different"

What is the secret to making a marriage last?

Obviously love is a choice and not a feeling and you should marry your best friend, but what do you believe is the true secret to marriages that last 40+ years?
