Katana Bass 210 - Keeping it on the 1w setting for apartment use?

Just curious... been thinking of replacing my old Ampeg BA110v2 with a Boss Katana Bass amp; and I had been leaning towards getting the 110 model.

However a local music shop has a used Katana Bass 210 in excellent condition, and priced less then a brand new Katana Bass 110...

But, I'm also in a small apartment, with neighbors... and lower volumes, which my little Ampeg sounds rather crappy at, are usually best... and the Katana's 1w feature sounds pretty useful to me... as I dont do live stuff... I dont play in a band... I just sit and home and pluck my strings and do my own thing. I've got a few decent pedals; a Markbass Compressore, and an old DD-3, a TC Corona Chorus, as well as TC flanger and overdrive pedals and a couple cheap Beheringer pedals... figure getting a Katana Bass Amp would let me reduce some of my pedals, and still sound good at lower volume.

So is it worth getting the 210 and keeping it on its 1w setting for quiet home practice use, if you're likely never going to crank it any louder; or would I be better off with the 110?

How to Reacquire lost Cartography Data After "on foot" Death?

I recently discovered an interesting system while out exploring...

Upon arrival I did my "honk" then flew out a ways and used my FSS Scanner to "discover" all the bodies. I found one planet that looked interesting and was landable, so I landed on it and exited my ship to acquire a screenshot; got a neat pic, and got "first footfall"... ok cool... but stayed "on foot" too long fiddling with camera angles, and died from the temperature.

The game then presented me an insurance list of cartography and xenobiology data that I seemingly "lost" from this death, and then let me respawn back on my ship which had been mysteriously teleported to being in orbit over the planet upon which I died.

I then finished flying to each planet and launched probes to get the surface scans, and went on my merry way.

Spent another few days exploring other locations, logging out occasionally for breaks, etc...

Then finally yesterday I arrived at a location to sell what cartography data I had acquired from after this "death" event.... and that System was NOT included.

Ok...

So I felt it was an interesting enough system that I decided to fly back to it and attempt to reacquire its Cartography Data... and I am there now, in the system.... and the game is saying I've already mapped each planet, and some of them even still have the "blue grid" from my previous probes...

However its seemingly not reacquiring the cartography data; or at least it is not giving me any indication that I've reacquired the cartography data.

Boneless Couch vs Walmart Futon?

My wife and I work opposite schedules... so I often let her go sleep in the bedroom undisturbed and when I'm ready to lay down, I just use our cheap Walmart Futon.. so I don't disturb her.

However that particular futon isn't very comfortable.

She recently went on a trip, and came back telling me about this "boneless couch" thing she slept on and that we have to get one to replace the futon because "it was soooo comfortable" .. etc etc...

So whats the catch? I've never heard of a "boneless couch"... are they really better for sleeping on then a cheap futon like the one we have?

The only places I can find selling them are Walmart and Amazon... but I'm wary of ordering such a thing online, without actually seeing/trying one for myself.

We Adopted an Older Cat who likes to Bite.

A couple years ago my wife and I adopted a 10 year old, who had been previously abandoned/surrendered by two known owners who dumped him at a shelter.... the first owner we were told surrendered him because they had to take a second job and .. just didn't have time for him anymore... and the second owner surrendered him after just two weeks, with the complaint that he "cries to much" and oh gee they didn't know they were allergic to cats... and we have no idea of there were any other owners, but we're presuming the first was his original...

We had been discussing adopting an older cat for a couple years and we went to the shelter specifically to meet him after seeing him listed on the shelter's website.

I suppose I should say that he adopted us...

As when we arrived, they had him in a "community room" with about 4 or 5 other cats. They all ran to the back corner of the room to avoid us when we entered but he immediately came right up to my wife and started rubbing his face against her, purring and almost begging for our attention.

We spent some time getting to know him and then decided to adopt him.

Its been two fun and wonderful years since... he never lets us out of his sight, follows us everywhere we go in our apartment; insists on sleeping on the bed with us when we go to bed... runs to the door to greet us when we come home from work... and has claimed ownership over all sunspots from our windows!

But there is just one issue...

He likes to bite.

He starts getting frisky and playful, so I'll bring out a toy he likes to play with and play with him and we have some fun for a few minutes, then I'll give him a gentle stroke or pet and he would suddenly snap and scratch at my hand.

Or another example, he uses his litter box then gets the "zoomies" and runs over to us for attention "I'm a pretty good boy an used my box give me attentions neow!!" so we reach down to give him a gentle pet... and he suddenly tries to bite our hand.

He does it with both of us but usually more with me, then he does with my wife cause I'm usually home more then her.. and I'm sure some of it might be due to over stimulation so when he starts getting bitey then I stop and leave him alone.... but... what else can I do to help discourage this biting behavior?

ASRock B650E PG Riptide Wifi - Realtek/Nahimic audio w/ Klipsch Promedia 2.1 or Logitech Z623 2.1 sets?

So I have this motherboard...

https://pg.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B650E%20PG%20RIPTIDE%20WIFI/index.asp

Its got a Realtek audio chip and using Nahimic software...

I'm thinking about retiring my big Stereo setup with its giant floor speakers, because I'm about to move into a new Apartment and want to reduce my amount of "stuff" and start using my PC for listening to music...

Probably going to buy this Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX set, or maybe this Logitech Z623 2.1 set...

I do not plan to add any fancy soundcard... So I want to know if this motherboard and its audio sound decent with either of those speaker sets... presuming anyone has either?

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX vs. Logitech Z623 2.1 - Good Music plus Gaming in Small Apartment?

I'm sure these two have been debated over and over, and asked about many times...

Moving to a new Apartment soon... Looking to downsize my clutter, and thinking about retiring the big stereo set up... and playing my music off my PC.

However its current speakers (an old budget Cyber Acoustics CA-3602 set) while decent for some of my gaming, absolutely suck and sound pretty crappy with my music.. so looking at replacing them with something better.

I'm pretty set on either the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX set...

Or the Logitech Z623 2.1 set...

As both of these are within my budget, and I've had experience with both brands and like them both.

So I'm looking for opinions on these two sets...

I listen to a lot of Tool and Metallica mostly... occasionally some 90's hard rock or grunge.

I want to HEAR the music... and not have it be too over powered by the Bass... but I want to still feel the Bass, and hear that pluck of the bass strings behind the loud guitar... But I also do not want the Bass to be deep 'wall shakey' to the point it pisses off potential fussy apartment neighbors.

I also want it to sound good for gaming, but I don't want to piss off my wife because I'm playing something like Elite Dangerous and spooling up my Frame Shift Drive shakes the building while shes taking a nap on the couch behind me...  or I'm fighting off Ghoul's and Super Mutants in Fallout 4 and my guns make too much of a bass heavy pop or bang.

I used to own a Logitech Z-5300e 5.1 THX set, back when Skyrim was new... and while those speakers sounded great... playing Skyrim with them, just absolutely pissed the hell out of the lady who lived upstairs from me at the time, especially when fighting the Dragons!  Cause even though I had the volume down, cause I'm playing the game late at night... that sub would just shake the place every time a Dragon in Skyrim would roar or whatever... then her kid wakes up screaming about a monster and she's banging like hell on my ceiling...  Mind, that was 15 years ago when Skyrim was new, never had a neighbor like her since...

But still, I'd rather avoid that so if it sounds good at a lower volume, then great... but still sounds good when I can and do crank the volume up more, even better!

Most of my research so far, has me leaning towards the Klipsch set.

But I would love to hear some opinions from any audiophiles out there who have had experience with either or both sets!

Whichever set I get, it will be running from my PC onboard Audio from the motherboard as I have no plans to add any dedicated sound card.

The Motherboard is an Asrock B650E PG Riptide Wifi with a Realtek ALC897 audio processor and Nahimic Audio Driver.

South to Airport at 4:30 - 5am?

My wife has a 7:30am flight tomorrow.

We're up in Sandy Springs, and she wants to leave around 4 - 4:30 in the morning in hopes of arriving at the airport at least 2 hours early because she's not sure what to expect from getting through TSA other then it might take her awhile; what with the TSA strikes and such going on.... she's reading different sources saying the current wait at ATL Hartsfield TSA at 5 - 6 in the morning could be 60 - 90 minutes...

So I'm thinking our best bet to get there as early as possible, is to drive down to the College Park Marta Station and use their free parking down there, and catch the first AM Southbound train into the Airport... I can walk her to the TSA checkpoint and see her off, then take the Train right back up to College Park and grab the car and go home.

Marta's website says their trains start running as early as 5am, but how does this work?

Do they station a train at every station, so if someone arrives at any station by say 4:50am, there's a train already there waiting to depart at 5am? Or what time should we expect the first southbound to arrive at College Park to take us to the Airport?

Normally, we would board at North Springs, which is closest to us... but if we're leaving at 4 - 4:30 in the morning, and it takes us 5 minutes to get to the North Springs station... waiting for a train to arrive and depart at 5am; or whatever time the first train is there... and then still have a 40 min train ride... we wont arrive at the airport until after 5:30.. maybe almost 6am... and then shes stuck at TSA for 60 - 90 minutes then rushing to catch her plane; which will have already boarded its passengers 30 mins before its departure time...

Personally, I would rather we get there with enough time for her to arrive at her gate by at least 6:30am... so I'm thinking, College Park at 5am... with a 5 minute train ride into the airport.

I just need to know when to expect the first morning southbound train to be at College Park.

Wondering if anyone knows anything about this place...

Waterford Place Apartments on East Belle Island Road, near the Fountain Oaks Kroger Shopping Center...

Looking at moving soon; and this place is currently high on my short list; as aside for a few minor things, it pretty much has checkmarks on ALL the boxes for what I'm looking for. I was also very impressed with a recent tour they gave.

But its a couple miles inside the Perimeter; still within Sandy Springs PD's jurisdiction, but right on their southern border with Buckhead/North Atlanta.

Wondering if anyone lives in this area, had lived in the area... or knows anything about what its like to live there?
