Just read time stranger Kyoto, wanted to share my thoughts
the first two books were really good, while some plot points didnt have explanations it never really took me out. I was particularly excited to see how witzig would develop because “bad boy character who does their best for the people they care about (bonus if they have an illness)” is one of my favorite character archetypes. however, I was really disappointed with SOME of book three. (I didn’t hate all of it!) the plot was good, but definitely way too rushed. I read that the author got tired of the story and I respect that but I think shaving off a few elements or changing the story a little could have helped. the romance felt really rushed, we knew they were friendly but nothing really romantic happened before book three. also there was the super romantic moment with the flower girl and I admit I got baited a little bit. the last few of the twelve were rushed in so quickly that they're almost impossible to remember. and I was very dissapointed that witzig was cut off and basically ended with “there are more important things than life” which I would have liked to see how he arrived at that conclusion at least a little, its not crazy for his character but clearly something happened. i liked the body swap twist, it felt like it made sense with the kings behavior and the story, but I think sometimes Kyokos dads were a bit too easy to agree with her? there were some things that I feel at least needed a few page conversation that were resolved in a panel. overall pretty decent but super rushed, 7/10.
I haven’t interacted with the fanbase at all as of writing this so I’m sorry if I said something super obvious or incorrect.
sorry about title! autocorrect got me!!!
