What are your restaurant recommendations?

So me and my wife are celebrating 2 years of marriage in October and we want to go to each park in one week. We wanna go to 3 seperate restaurants in the park (not quick service) and the only restaurant we know for sure we want to go to is Sci Fi Dine In Theatre at Hollywood Studios (the aesthetic just really appeals to us and we really want to try it). We just cant decide what to pick for the other 2 because there are so many options. I would like any suggestions you guys can give us for any of the parks!

P.S: We have been to Garden Grill at Epcot. We loved it but the idea is all new restaurants this time.

Just finished Master and Apprentice. Great book that was what I hoped it would be!

I just finished Master And Apprentice. I was excited to read it as Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn is my favorite Master pupil relationship in Star Wars. I appreciated seeing how their differences made them conflict and how it nearly made them seperate from each other. Most of all, I appreciate very much how Qui-Gon actively feels he was failing Obi-Wan as a teacher. I could have easily envisioned a writer saying Qui-Gon wishes Obi-Wan was more like him, but he wants Obi-Wan to be himself regardless of how different he is from Qui-Gon. He wishes he could be the master Obi-Wan needs much the same way Obi-Wan would feel after ROTS. Of course Obi-Wan grows to appreciate Qui-Gon's teachings more and develops a strong bond with him, but I so appreciate how much it delves into their different perspectives without either being framed as wrong (even if the book does favor Qui-Gon's perspective like I do).

Really Averros? I feel he is a new book favorite for me already and this is only my third Star Wars book. He is something I never see much in fiction: a dark reflection of a character without being a villain. He and Qui-Gon both studied under Dooku, but Rael represents a path Qui-Gon could have gone down. He engages in all of his indulgences (smoking, getting laid, enjoying combat) and acts so far from a Jedi its a wonder he wasn't kicked out. Qui-Gon and Rael butt heads constantly and I love their major confrontation near the end of the book. Qui-Gon telling Rael "I don't turn toward the light because it means someday I'll 'win' some sort of cosmic game. I turn towards it because it is the light." Is something I was pumping my fist about seeing him say so. Him saying that he touched Darkness and will again, and that it isn't something you deal with once and never again and how its a never ending battle feels like a lesson people always want to be true of all characters and Im glad to see this book reject that.

Rahara and Paxton were probably the weakest part of the book, but still they were very strong. I appreciate seeing their parallels alongside our main heroes. Her slave backstory was very moving and I felt horror at a point in the book I wont spoil that involves it. I felt her dread and terror as the book laid out. Paxton being a sentient being raised by droids feels oddly funny because with how he is parallel to Obi-Wan, we can see how mired in politics the Jedi have become by the time of the prequels to the point where they also start thinking and acting like droids.

The conflict on Pijal was very solid. I appreciate that it shows more how much the Republic became more disjointed and more self interested as they were more interested in the new hyperspace lane? (Im forgetting atm so please correct me if Im wrong) that Czerka is opening up rather than wondering if Czerka was having ulterior motives for doing so. Learning that they had slaves that they technically consider property due to legal shenanigans further demonstrates how easy it was for the Sith to engineer their destruction.

Overall, I loved this book and Im ready eager to read more books by Claudia Grey. Many fans have hyped her books and writing style and I am so glad she lives up to the hype.

DHS agents admit under oath they were sent to disrupt Newsome's rally.

At least its official truth now why the DHS were attacking the event (even though it was obvious).

My only concern with Zero Company will be if the fluff missions feel more numerous than missions pertaining to the story.

So Im not an Xcom player, but I did play a similar attempt to it from the Coalition called Gears Tactics. From moment to moment, the game actually felt pretty fun. What made the game so grueling was how many fluff missions it forced me to do. Rescue this prisoner(s), destroy this supply point, get supplies from the enemy, etc. These missions weren't bad in and of themselves, but when Ive done 10 in a row before I can finally progress more into the main story I actually care about it makes me feel like I have to do several chores before seeing the real event. For Zero Company Im hoping this same issue wont be present. I think its perfectly fine to give me potential missions to bolster my troops and gear. All I hope is that it balances out those missions with substantive story missions so we can be engaged with the main story.

Since it take place at the end of the war, do you think we will be thrust into Order 66 at the end?

Exactly what it says here. They emphasize that its during the twilight of the Clone Wars and we have a Jedi in our squad. I wonder if Order 66 will be an order given to us and we have to decide if we follow it or reject it. We have one clone who's inhibitor chip would activate, so that could cause trouble. I could see this being the big finale or just being ignored entirely also depending on what they want to do with the story.

Im suprised how many Star Wars books are on Libby!

I made an extensive list of Star Wars books I plan to read for canon. I was only worried about buying them all as that would get expensive fast. Since getting Libby (a suggestion from my wife), I checked out what Star Wars books they have and its suprisingly large. I expected plenty of Legends books and a handful of older canon ones and I was wrong in the sense there was so much more. They have the entire Alphabet Squadron trilogy, both canon Thrawn trilogies, so many books from the High Republic era, even as recent as last year's Mask Of Fear! This is by no stretch all of them, but I was suprised how much my local library had as I assumed they wouldn't have these. A suprise to be sure, but a welcome one. When I finish a Family at War I plan to read Bloodline first as Im really excited to read that book.

How was it discovered that Leia was the daughter of Darth Vader?

With Luke I could easily see information on their relationship being held somewhere. Palpatine learned the truth and he would have likely told some people close to him about it. But Leia being Vader's daughter was something he only discovered shortly before Palpatine's death yet Vader never says it was Leia. Unless Im mistaken, Luke and Leia never made it public knowledge of their relationship. Does anyone have any speculation on how the First Order obtained that information?

I was spoiled about this plot line about Bloodline despite me not reading it yet. I don't mind the spoiler as Im a firm believer that a good/great story won't be ruined because of a spoiler. Otherwise I couldn't ever enjoy older popular stories.

My boss gave me the day off, so I had just the place in mind!

Im getting better at character interactions. This was my first time actually meeting Chewbacca and he was amazing! He was complimenting my beard so I complimented his fur, which made him stroke his head getting a big smile out of me. I felt like he lept from the screen meeting him!

Any books anyone recommends to pad out the list?

I know Im missing the High Republic, I will get to that after this. I also know Plagueis is legends but I wanna read it due to its major acclaim. But for this list I want to focus on canon books spanning the Skywalker saga (my one exception notwithstanding). I appreciate any recommendations one can give!

After last night's utter embarrassment, the next Democrat president needs this on the White House lawn.

Despite the flair, I feel I want this to send half the country into a coma. Just to make it perfectly balanced.

Hey, anyone know what happened to Sean?

Im frequently over in San Fran on business and I love staying at the Fairmont hotel. One of my favorite people to interact with was Sean. He was the only Valet driver I liked as he was nice and didn't make me worry he was gonna ding up my car. I come back and he doesn't work there anymore? I hope he's doing ok for himself.

Black Widow is a communist menace to this country!!!

After Shield's data got leaked we find out Widow was working for the Russians. My family has fought communism for decades and now we have an open spy in our country. I don't care that she fought in New York with the Avengers, she was probably under orders from the Kremlin to do so. Now our government just let's her go? I wouldn't be suprised if she sleeps with Tony Stark so he could keep her name cleared. Are the other Avengers in on this? How deep does it go?! No doubt her actions are a ploy for Russia to attack us and have our guard down by "helping" us with other threats. She's a public menace who must be taken down!

I need to infiltrate the Trump Admin to stop this madness. I think this is the key to doing that.

Do you guys think this is too basic or should I become an alcoholic on something stronger?

On the one hand, I think she would make a great president. I feel Hilary could be the only person who may be a better president (admittedly thats the vibes in me talking). She was a DA, AG, and senator of the most prosperous state in the Union. She is way overqualified to be president and I think she would enact the policies this country needs most. Never was I so hopeful to vote for a president as I was for Kamala Harris (Joe seriously impressed me after being voted in but I was more anti-Trump than pro-Biden at the time when I voted for Biden). That was why her loss to Trump crushed me during the 2024 election.

On the other hand, it feels like such a gamble to run a candidate that lost the last election again. Trump could only pull that off because he has people who are sycophantic about the man. I don't think he could have won without it. Kamala got shat on by all sides with obvious lies by every corner. I get scared at the notion of people turning on her again if she gets nominated again.

Im Blue No Matter Who. I will support whomever is the Democratic nominee. But if it is genuinely feasible, I really would want Kamala in the White House more than anyone else to show what a president is supposed to be like and do all she can to repair some of the damage Trump has done.

I was going jogging when I saw some giant ships about to fly off. Then I see them exploding and crashing into a big government building. I can't find any news on it beyond what Im seeing and it doesn't seem like the Avengers are there. Does anyone know or heard rumors about it?
