Adrenaline Dumps When I’m Trying to Sleep

How do you manage adrenaline dumps when you’re trying to sleep? I’ve been sleeping elevated on a wedge pillow which has helped but isn’t the most comfortable, what is your favorite thing that helps?

Taking them out?

When you take your build a bears outside, do you find that the air or just being outside makes them feel dirtier? Or even being in an indoor public area? I want to take mine out in public more but my husband is worried about them getting filthy (he loves my BAB babies lol).

Do you notice them feeling significantly grosser/dirtier after being outside?

Carrying Four Legged BABs?

Does anyone carry their quadruped/four-legged BABS around and if so what carrier do you use? All the ones at the BAB store seem to be for bipedal ones.

How do you carry your ESSA?

Hi everyone! I was just wondering how you carry your ESSA around in public. Has anyone ever touched them without your permission or harassed you for it? I was thinking about making a crochet baby carrier thing for mine, but will that make the fur really dirty to be in the open air? Thoughts?

My three main ESSA’s

I’m new to this sub so I thought I’d post my babies. Here we have Baby Jax, Ebe (Ebony Darkness Dementia Raven Way), and Tax Evasion. I have pretty severe PTSD/anxiety and it really helps to have them near.

Customization Ideas?

To anyone getting the Moodicorn, how are you customizing her? I have one coming soon! I was planning on crocheting her a cat ear beanie, and making her some bracelets. I was thinking about cutting the skirt off the shirt? But I’m not sure, maybe it would be cute if I found some doll belts to put around it to make it look more like a skirt and skirt instead of being attached?

Any ideas welcome, I want too make her as cute and scene/emo as possible!

Where to get decent compression socks?

I’ve tried every pair on Amazon, they are all awful. None of them have decent compression, I am at my wits end because I only have one good pair for ten years ago that I have to wear over and over.

If you know of a decent brand or where to get some good compression socks that are actually tight, please name drop.

Custom Weighted BAB Experiences

Has anyone ever put custom weighted beads in their BAB? If so, what was your experience? Does anyone know what the maximum weight I could put in the plush before running into seam issues?

BAB will only stuff the plush if I only put one pound total of weighted beads in it, but I’m interested to do more like 2-3 pounds. Could a typical BAB handle that kind of weight? I plan on doing this to a moodicorn I am getting just for reference.

Also, has anyone used regular ployfill to stuff their plush and did it turn out well?

Cane Usage

Does anyone else use a cane for to help deal with the balance issues and fatigue that comes with dysautonomia/POTS/EDS? I have been using a cane for a few months now and I feel like it helps me to feel more balanced and supported. I guess I’m not sure if I should be using one because I get comments like “So do you have a bum leg or what?” Is balance and exhaustion a valid reason to use a cane or should I try to get stronger by going without? I’m fairly new to being chronically ill, so I’m wonder what experiences others have and why you guys use a cane or don’t.

Online Jobs?

Does anyone know of any good online careers for something with dysautonomia? My degree is in education, specifically art education (K-12 visual arts) but I’ve only ever taught camp/one off classes. My public education jobs have been subbing and being a special ed paraprofessional. So basically, I have a ton of education experience but not specially being a classroom teacher full time.

Anyway, this year my dysautonomia really reared its ugly head and after having horrible symptoms for months, I was taken by ambulance out of work to the hospital and that’s the last time I was there.

I need a new job, specifically one I can do from home because sometimes I can’t even drive. I’m an artist and educator by trade but willing to do whatever as long as I can support myself and my husband from home.
