Valt Aoi is from BeyBlade Burst (my favorite BeyBlade anime, this is Valt in between Burst Surge and Quad Drive/Strike) 💙❤️

I made MK’s earlier this year because his merch is exclusive to LegoLand Shanghai.

Valt is my newest creation! Because similar to MK, his merch is not only Japanese exclusive but quite expensive.

These shrines are made like mini shelves so they can’t close (I learned with MK’d that would scrape off the paint doing that 😅)

I made these mini tin shrines of my F/O’s:

MK 🧡 from Lego Monkie Kid (made earlier this year, I actually painted his portrait recently) and Valt Aoi 💙 from BeyBlade Burst (he’s my latest tin shrine)

Since both of their merch is SO SO expensive I decided that this was a fun (and CHEAPER) alternative and look nice on a desk!

So the story is that the laminating sheets I used have lifted and resulted in them wrinkling and getting air bubbles. They didn't look the same like they did a few months ago when I made them.

I finally gave in and painted over the laminate sheets of both crafts with paints and sealant spray to cover the wrinkles and air bubbles.

I really like how they look now! 🧡
These things are proof that I would literally marry MK right on the spot if he was real 🥹

For context, Lego Monkie Kid (last slide) is a show I really really love

And since late last year I have been really obsessed with BeyBlade (one of my newest interests) my first anime was the Burst era and I really love Valt as a character.

Because Lego Monkie Kid’s artstyle is inspired by anime for a Lego show I thought I’d make an art of what he’d look like as a character from the show.

This drawing is a marker and pencil test. I laminated it too!

Hello! I’m back 👋

Don’t panic! This is another early drawing I made of him before I made the more refined version in my sketchbook.

I used this drawing as a marker and pencil test to try out Valt Aoi’s color palette in LMK fashion!

I even tried a new cell shading technique with the markers and color pencils!

I then laminated the art because I have very little BeyBlade merch (my new hyper fixation) and Valt is my Kin! 💙 He’s so much like MK!! 🥹 (what is with me and protagonists 🤣)

I still very very much Love Lego Monkie Kid and BeyBlade has been such a great anime and it’s helping me cope!

Yes I know it’s not perfect. 😂

I also know it is an OBVIOUS bootleg (the tag literally read “Made in China” and that was all) plush the rings were circles not ovals and ears are very floppy (which I have to admit it is cute 🥹)

Looked incredibly derpy before (see last slide) but I painted the eyes and put oval felt shapes on the legs and forehead. And painted the ears and the tail.

I like her A LOT better now and I put her with my authentic Umbreon plushie (2nd to last slide)

So like I’ve been drawing and learning the LMK artstyle for 2 years but the hands are a bit challenging for me.

Why? Because they are extremely fluid and inconsistent (not like y’know real hands lol) so it is a little challenging to do certain poses with hands etc. (especially a flat open hand in LMK style because I fear it won’t look right?)

I’m probably not wording it right, I use screenshots from the show, I have just about the whole style memorized except for the hands

Any advice?

Because his official merch is so expensive (minus a McDonald’s and Burger King toy) I made my own standee outta Perler Beads!!

It’s definitely not perfect, tried to go for that old school sprite design. But I LOVE him regardless

Plus, it’s my first BeyBlade craft!
