Terrified of being mistaken as “m*ssianic” are catholics usually mistaken?

M*ssianic “Judaism” is obviously a bad group and I am Jewish and converting to Catholicism and just legitimately concerned about being mistaken for one of those villains. I hear that they get deported from Israel (for rightful reason). Just concerned that they’d mistake Catholicism for this if I visit on a trip or ever want to live there.

American Evangelical Christianity is getting closer to a New-Age religion than legitimate Christianity and it is concerning.

American Evangelicalism for years has been absorbing the ideas of conspiracy theories, new age religions, health schemes, and more, as well as politics. More recently, there’s been an increase in many who believe in a firmament, in specific spirits “spirit of vanity” “Jezebel spirit” and more, as well as almost putting them equal to power as malevolent gods and then using Jesus to cast them out.

The spiritual warfare depicted in these religions is absolutely nothing like the spiritual warfare of old. The emphasis on new versions of dispensationalism, exoticism of Jewish people (or negative opposite), Messianic “Judaism” and the sacred name movement, as well as people rebuking “negative energy,” avoiding vaccination, and talking about politicians being “anointed” and praying for themselves to be “covered by the blood of Jesus” in ways no olden Protestant would have ever asked seems to be drawing on a lot of New-Age concepts and almost conspiratorial thinking. Faith healings, tongues, and calling everything demons from bad commenters online to people they don’t agree with is very new age and similar to animism or paganism

Just the whole way of some of the new worship songs say it

“(G-d’s name) Rapha, Elohim, Shaddai
Jireh, Adonai will manifest Himself
(G-d’s Name), Rapha, Elohim, Shaddai
Jireh, Adonai will manifest Himself”

- here, we’re literally just taking random names (mainly places or locations) from the Bible and then shouting them as if we are calling on them like spells of some sort, or like different gods or modes of the same god. Something with no biblical or logical Hebraic language accuracy.

The ascribing such power to evil spirits, unusual theories, changes of diet that are more than just regular fasting, claiming many things are demonic, anti-vaccine ideology, heavy political rhetoric, finding symbolism and messaging, and also again, implementation of “spiritual warfare” almost all point to new age idolatry and move away from monotheism (or light polytheism if you see the trinity that way, heretics 😉)

Do you agree?

Is my Hebrew even understandable

I have a very thick Hasidic accent in my Hebrew as from speaking Yiddish. If I learn Hebrew must I eliminate the accent or continue speaking in that way? How do Israelis usually speak Hebrew. For example my Hebrew would have Shomer become shoymer, shalom be sholem, and the name Liat become Lias

Messianic “Judaism” is even better than Scientology for this kind of stuff

Tech Otecus sounds like a Star Wars character

Alternatives

Yiddish speaker, culturally Jewish here born to a Jewish mother who left the faith. Am a catholic. I know I can’t go in birthright as it is only for Jewish practitioners, but can I go with any other group (would never do an evangelical Christian group, as it is disrespectful to the holy land itself), but any other groups

Asked this before but I want didn’t get much answers

Bekishe?

I am ex orthodox and am going to a Hasidic and Orthodox interdenominational gathering. Never posted here but I am currently converting to the Catholic Church (I looked it up and apparently there’s some weird Catholic guy in here, but whatevs), and I’m just wondering if it is offensive to wear a bekishe? As I was told to by some of my old buddies who are either Bochurim or Rabbis now. They were egging me on to do so. It’s gonna be a wild dance and stuff? I won’t pretend to be hasid? Is it good or not

Considering a good amount of these folks will be blasted and singing Avraham Fried i think it’s fine?

How many Israeli women love cigarettes?

I heard this is a common thing and every Israeli girl I know indulges in them. I do not smoke but I wonder how widespread it is?

Jewish Catholic here, shalom!

How do I deal with antisemitism in church? Or the misquoting and finding of random Talmud debates and quotes that not even most Jews know about and just tons of lies spread about Jewish people. Not talking about the government of our country which needs to be voted out, but more importantly just the literal antisemitism that is popular now

I am Jewish and becoming a catholic. I am very sad about having to abandon my culture and the potential of having to marry someone within my culture that has the same experience and language. I’m wondering how I can cope with this. I feel the power and love and truth of mother Mary and Jesus Christ and all of the saints calling me home to the blessed house of Catholicism, but I have a slight melancholy about not getting to feel my Jewish culture anymore. Most of my friends are Hasidic Jews and they’d be so shocked to see I’m catholic
